  8. so i've gone through 4 alternators since i got my wagon, and i'm tired of dealing with 'em. i recently picked up an 80 amp alt. from a volvo and was wondering if anyone has used one, or anything else other than a gm alt. this will be giong on the '75 so do i do as hondasucks suggests in his write-up ( http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/article.php?a=14 ) as far as the external regulator goes? i can post pics when i get home so hopeluffy someone can help me figure out how to wire this thing in. thanks in advance -mike
  9. Q: How do you hide money from a hippie? A: Put it under the soap! don't blame me, they're song lyrics. so, how much clearance is there in the front? -mike

  16. i didn't originally mean that it had more curb weight, i just thought it was funny that my 4wd car had a lighter gvwr. i know the difference between the two, i just kinda commented on both at the same time. as usual i forgot to type some extra words to clarify what i meant -mike
  17. right one? i can't see it:rolleyes: looks kinda cool in the dark there, maybe a shot with some more light will prove different? ooohh, turn on the taillights and take one -mike
  18. now that i can actually type instead of cut/paste one maybe two letters at a time:banghead: . man, that really sucks to hear. i've been having some major issues lately too, had to replace the dizzy(again), lost a coolant hose, need to replace the carb, and i have been driving without brakes for a couple weeks(ever since the motorhead concert), but i just got those fixed friday:headbang: and boy is it nice to be able to stop. now my alternator has started whining. grrrr... good luck with the rx and hopefully no more probs come your way -mike
  19. i can't believe it weighs more than my 4wd does! 3320 copmared to 2920, course with the system, chrome wheels, and all the mud mine prolly weighs a little more:rolleyes: . the closest i've seen to one that clean is wes' white '74. hopefully i can find my camera and get some pics of it some day -mike
