  1. Stock is great !!! Dual headlights were the GL package. The GL package contained tach, AM FM radio, wheel trim molding, 4 spoke steering wheel, lighted ashtray, side molding, clock, cloth seats and a few other extras. The DL had the single round headlights. HOWEVER, you could easily upgrade a DL BRAT to 4 headlights, as the wiring harness for 4 lights was on all BRATs. Todd
  2. Could you email him your info? sweetjim007@gmail.com Thx, Todd
  3. Very nice! Adorable car. Make sure you have good back glass rubber. When they leak, you run into problems quickly. That back seat foam soaks fast. Todd
  4. Can anyone help this guy?? Please reply to his email address. Thanks! Todd ______________________________________ Hello! Nice BRAT! I cannot help with CA emissions and I have no parts that would help you. Can you not just go with a basic Y and disable the sensors? The system is not complicated like newer cars and there is no elaborate ECU. I will post your message on the forum at http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/ (You should consider joining). Expect some reply's from there. I'm sure it will get response. Best, Todd In a message dated 8/27/2007 12:43:40 P.M. Central Daylight Time, sweetjim007@gmail.com writes: I acquired this brat while at a auction. The story was that after the original owner had the dealer replace the motor with a factory new motor at 105,000 miles in 1987, they put it on blocks to do some brake work and there it sat with only 3500 miles on a motor and years of no attention I managed to start her up and drive all the way from Pittsburgh, Ca to near Placerville, Ca. NO brakes( Turned to rust powder) and some 2000 dollars later this little truck took on the Rubicon Trail! Now I have run into one major problem, The " Y " pipe is the California feedback type and I have searched three states trying to find a replacement, The muffler shops here want almost 1000 dollars to fabricate a exhaust system, cause of the O2 set-up. Can you help me with this? sweetjim007@gmail.com -- JAMES
  5. I have a 95 Impreza FWD 1.8 with 6/94 build date. I'm confused as to the release bearing style. (I know the clutch disk is 7 7/8") Is it A or B? A B Todd
  6. Wow...that was fast! Love the cool color. Agreed, no primimg needed. The trans is not a pressure system, so the fluid will just flow into the cooler. Todd
  7. The part #s I gave were directly from the Subaru parts manual for the 1981 BRAT. Now that is still gen 1...NOT a 82-87. So I would assume that the 1981 BRAT steering would be the same at the 78-80 BRATs and late 77-79 cars. Todd
  8. I'm showing 2 different #s Adaptor A 731255000 Adaptor B 731255010 These are from my Gen 1 BRAT parts book, but these are the same as the Gen 1 wagons and cars. They show available from Subaruparts.com Todd
  9. The ashtray does not go where you have pointed. It goes beside the lighter. That coin tray is in it's spot. On cars with an ashtray, you get an actual lighter and not a 12V plug with a cover. The 1993-1996 Imprezas all had ashtrays/lighters and they will fit your car. Todd
  10. Rex...did you get a radiator yet? If interested: I have a new one and a used one. The used one is fairly new. It's not a 25 year old original. It was tested OK. $50 used $109.00 new (what I paid for it). Todd
  11. I think I have a good used one too I could sell. I'll look. Todd
  12. ALL gen one radiators are "essentially" the same and will all interchange. I have had radiator issues in all my gen 1s BRATS, automatics, and FWDs(5 speeds). Here are my notes. The GF radiator was not as high and it sat on some steel risers. Why, I don't know, but a regular radiator works fine. The aftermarket radiators almost ALWAYS have the cooler for automatics. Even if they don't , you can add a small transcooler, like a Hayden, for about $30. The air coolers work FAR, FAR better than the internal radiator cooler anyway. All Gen 1 radiators will fit structurally between models. BRAT, GF, DL, BASE, wagon 2WD/4WD. Sometimes in the aftermarket, you need to drill holes in the steel top flange to more exactly match up with the holes in the car's radiator support. Todd
  13. I know they are available. Check 1 800 radiator eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-Brat-78-79-80-81-Radiator-1981-1980-1979-1978_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33602QQihZ011QQitemZ320115579187QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Todd
  14. Nice on the eyes!! If you have high res, I'd love those!! subaru3@aol.com Thanks! Todd
  15. I'd buy the Subaru EA71 headgaskets from ya! Todd
  16. Count me in for enough for (2) Stage 2 wagons. (If we locate stage 2 stuff). Todd
  17. hmm......if it won't fit stage 2, I guess I'm out. I'm going to compare and get back to you. Todd
  18. My 95 Legacy does the same thing. It's normal. Just a self check. Todd
  19. Count me in for a batch too! $50 bucks worth I guess/ 50 feet. Gen 1 and gen 2 should be nearly the same. Todd
  20. Does anybody have the Subaru part breakdown diagrams for a 95 Legacy sedan? I specifically need the pictures and part #s for the exterior side window trim. Mainly, the piece of black trim that surrounds the rear/ side 1/4 windows and the pieces and part #s that hold it on. Thanks, Todd
  21. 134A systems use a MUCH larger condenser than the older R12 Systems. That's why new 134A systems run as cold as the previous R12 systems. Replace with the LARGEST condenser you can fit and or use high cfm fans. Todd
  22. Well for the record, it's the front, forward most line that is the output. I used the in line setup. Into the radiator, out into the external cooler and then back to the trans. Thanks all for the good dialog!! Todd
