  1. These cars are collector cars at this point. Yes, you can use them for daily drivers, but there will be on-going "tweeking and fixing" needed. They are nearly 30 years old now! Thats 210 in human years! If it's not rusty, PLEASE keep it out of the salt!!! Wash well and frequently under the front wheel wells toward the top. Consider selling it to a collector home. Most mechanical, brake, steering and suspension parts can be found fairly easily. Interior, sheetmetal, glass and rubber are a different story. The cars are rock solid though and can take a beating! Todd
  2. OH.... Daniel: Check www.car-part.com 1979 Air Box/Air Cleaner Subaru BratOK 0 2080$25Mid City Auto Supply USA-NE(Hastings) E-mail 1-402-462-5121 They might have an aircleaner. Todd
  3. Daniels a good guy! His BRAT sounded good and it's a nice rust free example!! Can anyone help with a GEN1 "round" aircleaner for him?? I saw his Weber working, may need adjustments, but it's good for someone that knows Webers. (Something I don't) He even has the nice aircleaner for it!! Todd
  4. This guy: danrenfroe2016 is selling a weber and a brand new air filter for it. Contact him. Todd
  5. Well, it looks like it will work! Compressor gone!
  6. Often the little jet that the accelerator pump pushes fuel through clogs. Use a small piece of wire to clean the opening out. Todd
  7. LOL.. I'll be conducting :"Introduction to Subaru 101" soon. Tell him to enroll. Todd
  8. They are going up in value. 3-4 K is not uncommon for good clean, unmolested BRATS. Consider it an investment. $1500 is not bad. Todd
  9. Yep, accelerator pump, or clogged accelerator pump jet. Todd
  10. Use razor blades! DO not try to save the dried, old rubber. (Unless it's a replacement seal and fairly new) The glass is more valuable than the rubber at this point. Cut straight down around the edge and then in between the glass and rubber. (all the way around) You know when you have cut enough, when the glass just lifts out. Todd
  11. I believe the 1600 will fit fine. As I remember from the shop days, that happened a fair amount anyway. As for 4WD...bugger of a project. Capture nuts not present, crossmembers, gas tanks, exhaust all different. Paul...chime in on this. Todd
  12. Thanks for the feedback. What is the correct charge in these systems. (134A) oz wise? 24oz? Tell me what your pressures are and I'll compare that to mine. Todd
  13. Thats the one . Could I get 91162A and 91177 too? You are great! (I wish I could find a parts manual for my 95 Legacy. I have the ones for the 95 Impreza, but that's always helpful). Thanks much !!!! Todd
  14. I need to find the part #s for the botton 3 clips that hold a 1995 Legacy grill to the radiator support. There are 2 that are the same and then there is one in the center that is different. They are black plastic. Someone offered to look this up before, but I forgot who it was. Thanks all, Todd
  15. Both my 95 Imprezas and my 95 Legacy all don't seem to allow the compressor to cycle on and off in cold weather. If I select defrost, the compressor turns on to decrease moisture and fogging, but when it's below 50 it seems that they cycle on for about 3 secs and then rarely turn back on. This doesn't allow defogging to be effective. All these car's A/Cs operate VERY well in the summer. Is there a temp sensor, or is it just that the evap sensor gets cold fast and cycles the compressor off? I'm confused. Thanks, Todd
  16. Actually, I am doing "headshots" of all my cars and placing them on my actor's site. Shooting them in a nice field , in a parking lot ect. I also have used my1980 VESPA scooter in film. There is a growing need for 70's cars!! I keep all mine original and unmodified. That's what directors look for. http://www.todd-peters.com Todd
  17. I have a GF gasket that could be used as a model. T Hell, we can replace hearts, put men in space, put a Tonka truck on Mars, I would think someone can make a gasket for a dman Subaru!! LOL Yes, Soffseal is cool. My friend used alot of their stuff on his Olds. Todd
  18. I'm beginning to think Datsun!! I have a Z catalog restoration parts. Anybody have access to Z cars to check the measurements of their back glass?? Todd
  19. Get it! I'm sure it's got to be better than what's on the car. Negoiate a lower price for the age of it. Partsvoice is showing no inventory from any of those #s. Additionally, I bet the difference in the coupe and GF is slight and the difference between gen 1 and gen 1 is also slight.
  20. Get it! I'm sure it's got to be better than what's on the car. Negoiate a lower price for the age of it. Todd
  21. I have an NOS one, but it's breaking apart.(That's the problem with 25 years old rubber). It's on an extra piece of glass (GF) I can get measurements, or could send it to a company. Paul, or somebody....we need part #s for the gen 1 stage 1/stage2 back glass rubber on coupes and sedans. I'm sure gen 1 and gen 2 have different #s, but I bet the rubber is nearly the same. I think all gen 2s are the same part #. 665002700 is the part # for the 77-79 GF hardtop Todd
  22. Ok, this ties into the rust issue on these gen1 cars. They rust from the inside out from leaky seals! We can get the front weatherstrip, but the rear is elusive. It is just as critical at the front. Alternative seals can be used on the gen 1 station wagon hatch by using the super beetle rear glass rubber. It's a good fit. I was thinking that the Datsun/Nissan Z cars, 240Z, 280Z have about the same shape and size rear glass. I wonder if that might be an option! I know their rubber is still manufactured aftermarket. So....this post is a brainstorm for ideas. Please post your thoughts!! Todd
