  2. Same car /same problem. I'll be curious to see the replies. Todd
  3. Actually the quality, fit and finish are BETTER in the Impreza. The Impreza is assesmbled in Japan still. The Legacy in Indiana. I have both and both are good cars, but there are little things that seem better, tighter, higher quality in the Impreza. Todd
  4. Get it!!! Oh....Gen 1 wheel wells never had the problems like gen 2. (Different and better design in Gen 1s) Todd
  5. Actually, I think it sold for MUCH more than the ebay price. (It's worth far more than $1300). Bryan ended it early and sold directly to a collector. Todd
  6. Yes, the new weatherstrips will fit. Good thing the windows were rolled up! Keep us posted on the progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More pics when you can. Todd
  7. Well, a good bath to start with! It's gonna need alot, but the body looks pretty good. Is the floor OK? I'd start with cleaning, assessing all the systems, (brakes, electrical, mechanical), making a list of needed items, Try to turn over the engine, (do an oil change), Flush the cooling system and see if you have anything at all. Of course you will need a battery. You will need a lot, bit you might be surprised after clean out the dirt. Just hope the wiring is still intact. That glove box looks scary! Todd
  8. WOW.....very nice!!! I'd love to see more pics too! That is indeed a GL. Cloth seats, ashtray lightm tach, 4 spoke steering wheel, quad headlights, wheel well molding and more.....rack, spoiler, bumper protectors!!! Todd
  9. I think gen 1 and 2 are different, but not sure. Ok......where do we start in getting these fabricated?? I can talk to someone locally, but I am so tight on time, I like to turf that to someone else. I will call the one shop I use alot and see what they say. Todd
  10. I think we could get someone to fabricate them. I'm sure we could get together an order of 25 or so as an incentive. Put me in for 3 Paul?? Todd
  11. Oh..I think you could modify and use a different core. You just need a core with similar dimensions. Look through core catalogs. Todd
  12. If you find them new...let me know too! I had my old ones repaired. They are fairly easy to fix at a radiator shop. Todd
  13. REAR SHOCKS GABRIAL PARTS MASTER 82018 AC/Delco 520-275 Monroe LE10007 REAR SHOCKS MONROE # 1193 (MONROEMATIC) All Gen 1 Subarus/BRATs take the same rear shock The 82018 # is a good one and should cross to different brands. Todd
  14. Hey guys: I need a copy/fax/PDF from a Legacy parts manual for the sunroof track and mechanicals, along with part #s. 1995 Legacy sedan. I think 95-99 are all the same. If you have it I would greatly appreciate a copy of the pages. You can even mail it to me. Let me know the cost. Thanks so much! Todd subaru3@aol.com
  15. The coupe, and 2 door sedan are the same door as the BRAT. (Except the original BRAT door does not have the side impact beam). The door will interchange between the 3 styles. It's a wagon door. Do you care to sell it? Todd
  16. I'm told that he was the original owner and drove it on the ranch. It was not licensed for the road. It was rough, but not rusted. Not sure of the mileage I didn't restore it, but helped the company. http://www.thewestsidegroup.com/ Todd
  17. Yes, it did come with seats. I guess they just were not in it yet. There are a few missing parts that I see. Todd
  18. Enjoy! I contributed the stripes and the mudflaps. http://www.todd-peters.com/brat.html Todd
  19. My 95 1.8/FWD/ Manual/Coupe gets 25 around town and near 32-35 at times on the highway. AC pulls it down, so that is without AC. I just drive normally. Never "flooring it" Todd
  20. Well, I'm sorry you took it personally. I was just expressing an opinion, based on 28 years of SUBARU experience, recent market research and a dealership in the family in the 70's. A few followup points: Yes, salt is worse that Mg, but I have seen some rusty CO cars. far worse than TX or AZ cars. Winter exposure cannot do anything but make matters worse for a 30 years old car. Yes, it is 4WD and it's a SUBARU, but this car has survived nearly 30 years and is a classic. That makes it different from a new 4WD SUBARU. Additionally, there are alot of 4WD/AWD cars that never see snow. Beater to me means that the car is taking the wear and tear off some other car, that the owner "deems" to have greater value. Hence me making the argument that your "daily driver" has more value than say your 4WD hatch. (Financially speaking. And your Jetta has more value than your 77) And heavens no, I don't think your an idiot! That's what has made this board great since Billy C and I initially created the concept for it back in 97..... people can express opinions, learn, teach and be entertained! I just have seen so many people DESTROY these cars, that it makes me ill. Now that they are becoming more rate and there is more interest in restoring them, I feel compeled to educate people where I see a need. It sounds like you have a good plan. So, don't take my post personal, don't read into it. We all are here for the love of our favorite car.... Todd www.vintagesubaru.com subaru3@aol.com
