Has anyone taken a BRAT to Subaru dealer for any service recently?
Our Local Subaru Dealer... well, the only one that Left still alive; does service on Older Subaru cars, but No one takes 'em there because the cost is more than Twice than any other Service Garage.

Well... Yes. But the Loyale Shaped cars came with 1.6L and 1.3L engines outside the USA Market. I Like how the JDM Mirrors looks on the Fenders.

Steam Cleaning the Engine Compartment
That's why I always pay to the Detail shop to let them me Use the Steam Cleaner by Myself, instead of lettin' a Kid to have Fun with my Subie's engine. Also I always Spray the Engine's Oily / Greasy \ Muddy areas with an Engine Cleaner and let it sit there for a While Before use the Steam Gun; then I use a Mix of Kerosene and Powder Soap to Wash out all the Dirt; finally Rinse with Fresh Water... and Voilá!

Poll: what color to paint wheels?
Dark Red Old-School Subaru Looks Very Old-School Nice with White Gloss Rims... Darker Colours might not Contrast, Black will make 'em to Look Cheap, in my Own opinion. Kind Regards.

1989 STI WRX (Is it possible??)
Yes, I Agree, it must be a Fun to Drive Car and a very interesting Project, which I really Like the idea. Also, I Believe that the Added extra Weight and distribution of the Wagon could add a Positive effect on Safety under certain Driving Conditions. I'll do such a Project if I have the Money & time... (for now my 2.7 Wagon needs an Engine). Kind Regards.

Steam Cleaning the Engine Compartment
I've Steam Cleaned my BubleBeast's engine Compartment many Times without any problem, I Just Wrap the Weber Air Filter Box and the Distribuitor with tied Plastic Bags and I have care to not Blow too much Hot Water / Steam to the Back of the HeadLamps and their Bulb's assembly. Kind Regards.

Maximum Tire Size on 15" Rims + 2" Lift?
Thanks for the Pics, those Tires are Good Lookin' and somehow they're like the ones I Wanna Run on my BumbleBeast. So, Those are 27" and your Subie has a 2" Lift, isn't it? ... if so, it looks like Too much Trim for me. So what Tire size do you Suggest to me? ... 26"? ... Could 215/65 R15 Work? Kind Regards.

1991 Loyale Wagon - let the build begin.
I Fixed a similar problem in a Friend's Mitsubish¡t Eclipse, by Pouring Marvel Mistery Oil inside the Cylinders and letting there for a Whole weekend, Plus Pouring it to the Gasoline also to the engine's Oil and We Used a Thin Engine Oil, 10W~30... After Crankin' the engine without Sparkplugs, then it was very Hard to Start but when Started it Blowed a Huge Cloud of Smoke; the car owner raced it for a While on the Highway and Suddenly, the Sticky rings Problem went away in the next days. I hope this idea might Help. Kind Regards.

suspension questions
Nope, also our Local Junk Yards are not Legally allowed to Sell Local Parts on them, they Bring all their Parts cars from USA. Please see This Post for a Complete Explanation about That, Full of Pictures: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1058758&postcount=15 Well, seems like your Subie ended with the stiffer Suspension at almost the Stock Height, just like some of Us that also Used Tempo Springs on EA82's Subarus; so Seems like you obtained the same Results.

Changing 86 GL Manual Tranny Fluid
I've tested many Gearbox / Differential Oils in the Past, in many cars and in my Own experience with those, Specially with Older Gearboxes or Diffs, (So to Answer your Next Question) in my Own opinion The Best Gearbox & Differential oil is the one Reinforced with Molybdene: Somehow is the Same Black Grease Base that we use on C.V. Joints: (Motul 31721L Gearbox 80W-90 Molybdenum Bisulphide -MoS2- Reinforced Extreme Pressure Gearbox and Differential Lubricant) This Shiny Black Oil not only makes Quieter any old Gearbox, it also makes Easier Shifting. Believe me, the Difference is Huge, I Run my Weberized Wagon's 5MT with it since around year 2000 (I usually Change it every three years), also I poured it onto many other Manual Cars with great results. Kind Regards.
