  1. we will get it figured out. Ill bring the trans and the diff.
  2. If I brought the brat we could use the winch... In all seriousness, it shouldnt be that hard to disconnect that rear diff enough to push said Datsun out of the way. Is the rear end really locked up?
  3. Jess and I were planning on getting there rather early (like 9 or so) to start in with the tranny swappage. That is, of course pending word from Connie about when she wants our redneck 'selves on her property.
  4. Crappy pic... but shes together. (if you listen closely you can hear Steve drooling) The sedan as of yesterday : LINK : http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=180&pictureid=3213
  5. Sweet! ...er, I mean Wait till you see the sedan!
  6. I can see that our meet and greet thread is taking its usual approach. Not that anyone needs more ammo, but Connie said she wants that Z diff I believe. So technically she is paying for an open rear end for her personal use. The jokes will be even better this year... of that I am sure.
  7. I used a cheap (dollar store) silver windshield shade. Its made with the thin silvery foam instead of the thicker bubble-wrap stuff. Cut to fit (might need two shades to fit nicely) ... and clear box-tape to stick em on. They block the sun really well. Theyve been holding strong for 5+ years.
  8. 1 Nissan Z diff... check 1 Subaru FWD 5-spd ... check Rednecks with work clothes and tools ... check Were ready. Wheres Dave and Melis?
  9. *new york accent* Allright allright... its a comin' alreahdy. Keep youah pants on.
  10. Ok folks: Since time is getting close I guess Ill revive this. SATURDAY, August 13th. (was the date) Whos coming? (maybe shouldve asked Connie first) Where? -For those who dont know or havent been before... New Milford CT (aka Connies house) Anyone in the northeast whos willing to make the drive is welcome. Heck, we had a west-coaster come last year. FOOD... OLD SUBES... yall know the drill. Discussion?
  11. +1 Ive used EA71 pistons in the past. They do raise compression though.
  12. I have a couple of sets as well. BUT... +1 for no front belt covers.
  13. Somebody doesnt know what theyre talking about (or remember what was said) Water pumps dont cause running problems like that.
  14. Im not busting your chops here... but that is actually VERY well known. :-\ (at least to the members on here) I think the plate is appropriate (if you know your subaru history) -but almost everyone that sees your plate will probably just think youre a chicken farmer. (or a chicken from Texas)
  15. Replace the sender. I have one...
  16. Im not far from you in the Catskills. We are in the salt belt. Bleh. Theres another thread on here somewhere about everyones favorite place to source sheet metal. I use old appliance metal. Washers/dryers/refrigerators. Good quality steel for cheap or free! Ive fixed many cars this way.
  17. +1 ... another vote here for appliance metal! Most of the time its free on the curb.
  18. Where are you located exactly?
  19. The bearing shows flags on the older EA cars (gen 2) in my catalog. Im guessing thats why theyre available still. Theres 19 qty showing avail at the current moment.
  20. Depends on what part youre looking for. Body parts have to be begged, borrowed or stolen. Mechanical parts are more plentiful. ...at least I have plenty
  21. I have some of these... (New-Old-Stock) Shipping would be fun from NY to CA though. If you toss me you VIN I can make sure I have the correct # for you if youre interested.
  22. +1 The only subaru that was in-line was the justy engine. And it was only 3 cylinders
  23. +1 on Garys in Binghamton! http://www.garysupullit.com/
