Harry's Meet in a couple of weeks? Northeast - Harry's Report?
just kinda stinks that the younger crowd can`t get any junkyard goodness until they are 16:dead: oh and John that sounds awesome! ej22s are usually plentiful there. Gary's u pull it in Binghamton might also have what you need. i know he had at least 5 ej cars last time i was up. he also gaurantees his motors for 30 days and has a bus that rides around the yard that will pick you and your parts up. he has the cheap motor special sometimes too.

Harry's Meet in a couple of weeks? Northeast - Harry's Report?
just an fyi before you take your son Paul, i`m not sure how old he is, but harry's will not allow anybody under 16 into the yard. even when you are 16, a parent or guardian has to sign some form they give you. some new law, but i tried taking my cousin in who is 14, and they were real strict about it. he had to wait in the car for 3 hours:-\ and i had to carry a geo transmission with no help oh and Jon does this mean ej swap for the brat? and is that rust jones in your avatar?
-
is it worth it?
i'd pass on it honestly. watch all the california craigslist within reasonable distance from you and i bet within a week or 2 you can find a nice rust free comparable car for a third of that price. i`ve watched cali craiglist before and saw many ea82s like that for alot cheaper. basically you are paying $2k extra to buy it from a new car dealer.

Toy VS Sammy VS Sidekick/tracker?
if you were closer i`d hook you up right now. there is a 96 taco 4wd down the road for $1200, and a 94 4wd toyo xtracab pickup about 20 mins away for $1400 both 4cyl 5 speeds. i just picked up a 2000 taco xtracab 4wd off its original owner with 111k for $4000. you may want to come out here and buy one if that one falls through:lol:

subieguy in CA had one (mid 70s coupe), but i believe it may have been sent to the subygods. they do exist, be sure to watch craigslist, and keep your eyes wide open when riding around. i found a brat the other day that i never knew existed and its 3 miles from my house!

Great Deal Alert!
75subie replied to Jimmyowensfan20's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXi always use penzoil and a fram filter with absolutly no ill effects. infact i do the oil changes on 8 of the family vehicles every 3-4k miles, and all of them are fine. thats what is always on special at autozone.

cant get the struts out!!!!!
if you haven`t already spray the hell out of it with wd40 just for luck. then take a flat end crow bar or big screw driver and shove the end of it into the little slot where the bolt usually clamps the bottom of the strut down. then try prying it apart in whatever way you can while a buddy jumps on the hub. that should work. make sure the bottom bolts are completly out.

Give subaru one more try?
to each his own. next time you buy a car, just consider looking at something that is turn key, always taken care of, clean motor inside and out, very few dents, little to no rust, no tears in the seats, never smoked in, good tires/brakes/clutch, and possibly 1 or 2 owners+dealer serviced. there are cars in that range that still can be ho-hum or junk, but there are also ones that fit the bill above. just takes some shopping around. of course there will always be a time where parts need to be serviced or rebuilt, but that is expected in all cars, but a car that has been maintained will need fewer repairs, and usually minor ones that are spaced out, and not all at once.
