  1. i`m in for any meet you guys want to put together, OBX or carlisle (definatly)
  2. i need to find a wagon so i can get one of those window stickers. it would be cool to ride around with it in the window
  3. i met Mr. Fishums today (he was looking at the hatch and the brats) him and has dad were super cool, and had some funny stories about his old hatches.i wish there was a "legal" off roading spot around here, but i`m not gonna risk loosing my liscence again going on illegal property. Chris, did you see that turbo loyale down the road from me, like 1/8 of a mile after exit 5, what a rust bucket and the guy wanted $1900:lol: gotta love the NY soobs
  4. hi flow exhaust, weber, accel coil (if the 85 your talking about is the one i think it is, its already in there:) ) 1600 pistons, if you are willing to spend some money, go to ram engines, they will sell you a rebuilt ea81 putting out 150hp, but it is not cheap at all. if you want to talk to a guy who knows about ea81 performance, look up club member Ben-ny on this message board. when you come down to look at the brat, stop at his house, he lives like a mile away from me.
  5. go to an AZ, NV, CO, OR, CA, or WA subaru junkyard with a cordless sawsall, and start cuttin:lol:
  6. just spoke to the owner, he says its got rust through in the rear quarters and the front fenders are pretty bad and some more he couldn`t think of., i was just HOPEING it might have had little to no rust, but by the sounds of it, it has more than what i`m looking for, Caboobaroo`s wagon was ideal because it had no rust, but i found a cheap shipper after he had left Oregon:banghead: Oh yea, the guy said some subaru enthusiast already called dibs on the roll bar, so that doesn`t come with it i guess. Thanks for all your help Jerry Demoss, and thanks for the offer to look at it zyewdall. Jon PS. SOMEONE GRAB THIS POOR BRAT, if you are local, its still a nice parts unit or beater if you have a title, i`m just looking for something rock solid for a special h/o ea71 project.
  7. i am trying to get ahold of the guy, to save and restore it:D i found shipping for $450 to NY, so i will probly put something together.
  8. ok, i read the FAQ`s on the shippers i was looking at, it says you can carry personal goods, but it is at your own risk. caboobaroo, do you think most of the stuff would fit in the back of the wagon?could you bolt down a drivers seat and get the car rolling and steering?the service i am looking at is door to door, so you won`t have to move it.
  9. i wish it was for sale:banghead: i was all set to make a trip to North Carolina
  10. Tom`s Brat in Colorado is a 1980 Gl Brat, i spoke to him last night.
  11. yea i`m interested in buying it if he is interested in selling it. what kind of shape is it in?any rust issues?
  12. is your dad interested in selling his 4x4 wagon? if its nice, i would trade my 78 rust free brat or cash
  13. no prob Paul, just keep me posted, if you decide you want to restore the whole car, i`m glad to see it being saved anyway. if its going to be parted, i would like to save it though.
  14. Paul, just out of curiosity, did you find a shipper that would take all the extras? please, if you are buying it for the parts, let me know and we can split the shipping or even a(i`ll pay 60 %/ you pay 40 %) split, i`ll take the body, you take all the parts. i am looking at it as more of a custom project, to get the most power, best handling out of an ea71. but i need a clean base to start with.if your shipping price is reasonable, talk to me on this, if you too are looking to restore it, thats ok too. Caboobaroo, please don`t forget to separate those mudflaps i bought from you, the brat really needs them:)
  15. it sounds like a carb problem to me. i have to say tho, that motor is CLEAN
  16. believe me, i do really want yours, especially because of no rust, extra parts, and its free:D but, every single shipper i go to says they will not take extra stuff that is not somehow attatched to the car:banghead: there is tons of room under the hood to hide stuff, but the problem would be keeping it from falling out.i really would love to get it, but i can`t see getting it without all the nice stuff to complete it:-\ take care Jon
  17. i speak the language, and see what he means. if you go to a new subaru dealer and ask for pre 85 stuff, they usually just sit there and laugh. alot of the salesmen like to see brats in there parking lots though, not to own one, just admire it.
  18. Ennio, Nice site Man! i wish i could git me a wagon.
  19. 3 or 4 in this thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41178&page=1&pp=10&highlight=pine+barrens
  20. i would never pay either, but there are many rich lazy people who would. i have buffing almost down to a science, and enjoy taking the wax off by hand, and seeing underneath how nice the shine is:D i look at it more as a enjoyable workout.
  21. Looks great Mary! i too enjoy detailing, it is cool to see what junk you can start with, and make it look good again, the paint was totally sun beat and chalky on my 78 and with some buffing/ polishing, the paint shined better than my pop`s forester:D i have to say though, the interior work i have done in the 78 is kind of annoying, trying to lay down that stiff rubber mat stuff instead of carpet, i keep hitting my head, and crap like that:banghead: still will be cool to see it when its done car detailing really isn`t a bad business, even if you just get a couple customers that keep returning every month or so if your work is good, if you get $125-150 a pop:brow:
