  1. The mark VIII I had had traction control instead of a real rear LSD, I turned it off one day for experimenting and had trouble parking in a gravel lot. I doubt it would have been that way with an LSD though. The active handling control on the Corvette5 is incredible, I cant speak enough for how much it changes the characteristics of the car. +1 for the control systems, as long as you can turn them off.
  2. I LIKED the mason red interior, it was something different in all interiors now either being tan/grey/black. And wood thrown in on the 'expensive' cars. The new interior just looks like a Legacy STi now. but I guess thats what it is.
  3. why dont you just change the tires yourself, all thats left after that is mounting and balancing. I suggest against getting the steelies at discount tire, I'm running them and they arent straight, if it wasnt for the fact I dont really care how straight they are I would be a lot more angry. It has made it impossible to get them balanced.
  4. hahaha, I thought the one where both of them were on the log was cute. good stuff
  5. yeah what happened to it? Looks like we need side exhaust tips so they cant get hung up.
  6. 4 14 mm bolts connect the rails to the body. They're underneath some plastic beauty pieces. From there its a mixture of bolts and screws. (I disasembled mine recently)
  7. According to my etrex with the 27's its identical, and with the tripple treads my speedo is fast. I'd trust it after the signs though, because do they also show elevation? All the roads in my area arent flat.
  8. I put 27.5's on mine and the speedo seemed more accurate, according to the roadside construction radar signs.
  9. Mileage was negligible difference, if there was I didnt notice it. They've stayed balanced even though I've autocrossed and dropped them to 20 psi for offroading. And the only way I know its raining is I have to turn the wipers on. I've done a few emergency stop tests in some heavy rain and performance nearly as good as a hot dry day. Light snow seemed worse, but still really managable. I'm yet to drive in any deep (more than 3 inch thick on the roads, my area gets the salt instead) snow with them, so I cant say how well they do there. I still get 350+ miles a tank with them. No matter how slow or fast I drive. I have no experience with the hydroedge though.
  10. Another vote for the tripple treads, as touring all seasons nothing else comes close, but they arent exactly performance tires either (740 treadwear?)
  11. sayn3ver: What in the name of sir isaac H newton happened? Did you crash into something and smash the windshield too? What were you doing or did the airbags go off premature?
  12. I'd be on this like fly on stink if I could see it done, I cant see it harming anything since I'm already way out of warranty and I dont feel like having a HG job anyway.
  13. I'm definately going to have to take a rain check, I've got too many orders to fill to take a vacation at this time.
  14. For the same reason, to have curved windows but still have a piece of it roll down. Funny neither one of those suceeded, although John Delorean's story is an interesting one if any of you ever catch it on History Channel. Also, I think Deloreans are nice cars. Practical Reliable and Fast? Not so much. All the people that say they're slow should look up any other car of that era. The corvette was nearly a 16 second car. I blame emissions.
  15. Think this could get postponed a few weeks? Or maybe another one late in the summer?
  16. If you want to keep the same wheels, choice become very limited. The only ones I know of would be a 215/65/16 for the General Grabber AT2 tire. The good news is those are cheap. I was looking into A/T's also until I decided to just get a second set of wheels.
  17. I'm glad you enjoy your seats, it might just be a year by year thing because I've talked with an 00 Legacy owner and the seat is actually different.
  18. I've thought about putting a CB / Ham there, but why would you want 2 stereos?
  19. Except for the new Tribeca, the stock tires on my wagon are the largest Subaru puts on their vehicles. And my 27's are an awful tight fit. (still havent got a full mud photo of it.) So congrats on even getting close to putting them on. Even if it does result in it looking like its wearing clown shoes with the big feet.
  20. Subaru seats are the worse seats I've ever sat in, I've gone as far as replacing them with ones out of a buick. My girls Impreza is much better though, but long trips are still a pain in it. But it might just be the ones I've sat in, just set in it yourself because apparently there are some good years. By the way 6'0 180 lbs
  21. holy crap just 2 weeks away, I need to haul some rump roast. Buick Regal seats in. Front Skid plate, tranny cooler, and 4wd switch wired soon. (its literally just sitting there)

the 99 and before Outbacks had 7.3 inches of ground clearence 00-04 Had 7.3 05+ Has 8.4, and 8.7 for the turbo models.
  23. I know it doesent look it, but the exterior of my wagon isnt really in good shape at all. I'm going to have to rip all the plastic cladding off sooner or later because a lot of it is just hanging on by tape or glue. And the window gasket on the passenger side is held on with electrical tape. Subaru quality
