  1. uhhh that was the entire trail. The trail looped around the side of the mountain all the way down. All the slow haters: Am I the only one that was taught to go as slow as possible?

Los: Yeah, but thats a lift + 4 new tires involved. With some tall A/T's he should be ok. I'd think.
  3. I was having fun before filming in the mud, however I bashed into a rock which was in the middle of one of the pits. I'll be harder on it when I get armor gg And I was filming, just carryign the tripod. When I panned over I tried to get a shot of that tree falling, but you couldnt see it, so I just let you guys hear it. (That was the crash when the music pauses)

No lift what so ever. 25 PSI. A body lift isnt going to do anything to get you farther from planet earth, it just seperates the pieces of the car. Those are 27 SSR's, I dont think you could go much bigger than that. Without the plate I'm probably right at 9"
  5. 27's and yeah, I probably could have, but I dont like riding on rocks with 600$ touring tires. Although with the SSR's I think I could have done it in FWD, I never felt any slip (I drove most of the 3 mile trail)
  6. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2170187767209119756 'nuff said I need to get some armor under there, even though it never bottomed out, I really dont look forward to smashing something.

I'm the goofball thats put swampers on mine. With the independent suspension the first thing thats gonna drag is either going to be the rear differential or the oil pan. So do something about that first. And yeah, I've cracked/banged/torn a lot of my plastic up. I made a huge crack just yesterday jacking the car up and not putting it in a designated jack point. So be careful or be ready to lose it.
  8. I missed it, but a group of my friends went. I like the front end on the red WRX.
  9. gee I feel bad I just barely missed the old school soob line
  10. I am working on the seats right now in my wagon. The swampers are more or less clearenced, rubbing on compression and lock, but eh I'll work on it after I get the list done a bit: Get Seats in Transmission Cooler Middle undercarriage protection Front end protection Then go back and make full clearence for the swampers no matter what (Angle grinder for the win?)

get with the program scooby! http://www.subaxtreme.com.au/ They were bought out by someone else and are opening their doors again.
  12. CB Preference? One thats free And I dont know if I'll sleep at camp. Between the rates pre-designated camping spots are and a girlfriend not too enthusaed about sleeping in the woods, I might get a cheapie hotel, just for the night. Be nice to not have to worry about my touring tires gettin stoled. Also, I asked a Local Jeeper about the park, he said that the first level trails are easy, almost boring. While the second level is for advanced but near stock 4x4's. He said that the second level is the best he would be able to do he thinks, and he has a very well set up Wrangler. (Lockers, 31's)??? I say we could do the blue, personally. Just dont forget the tow strap.
  13. if you come up with a way to protect the transmission pan, let me know please.
  14. bahhh andy jo, do what I did and get two seperate sets of tires/wheels. Invest in a good jack too, I've been using the crummy scissor one the car came with. NOT good.
  15. woudnt Andyjo's hot switch switch actually make it a 4WD ? and mmm, selectable lockers. But still no hi-lo in it...
  16. will definately be coming soon ! I went on a trail yesterday, and since I was out of town and it was a spur of the moment deal, I went on my tripple treads. I posted the link in the video thread. Yeah, as for the ride? it feels like I'm landing a helicopter. the entire time.
  17. I took a video of me following my buds rubi. It was long though so I just took snapshots from the video of some of the more interesting things. http://lesbaru.com/stuff/Picture/videosnapshot/ "Welcome to Jurassic Park"
  18. we should all put our heads together and armor are rigs up at the meet
  19. yeah I need to fab up a front skid plate, I SWORE I drug my oil pan today, but didnt see any scratches on it. CB Radio, fluids, already got a toolbox in there permanently. I dont know if I'll have 5 SSR's though, I only bought 4 and I always have a full size spare with me.
  20. I've got a spare CB handheld, runs off cigarette socket of course. I need to get a real one wired up though, thats a good excuse.
  21. We could play like the rest and put "Jeep Recovery Team" I see Landrover/H2 ones on jeeps all the time. But I still like the STi one better
  22. You could get rally wheels or even any 16's that would work, and some 215/65/16 General Grabber AT. They're All terrains so it would be ok to leave them on all the time for everything. Not much of a size difference either.
  23. I dont think the pirelli scorpions are that great of an offroad tire. How much more traction are you looking for offroad? I think they actually make "Low profile M/T" tires these days, so you can have yourself a set of dubs to go with your offroading H2. But I just got done stuffing some 27X9.5x15 tires on my wagon, and the tires on mine are actually larger in diameter than the stock ones on the Outback xt. (by a mm or two) You could check into rally gravel wheels that can clear 4 pot calipers and are 15 inch in size. Thats about it?
  24. That worked fine for me. I eventually got smart, and found if I could air the spare down to 15 psi I could just barely squeeze it in the donut slot. No more goofy FWD fuse! I jumped my old camry once by accident, there was a broken warning sign that I didnt think anything of. For a railroad crossing. It humped up for the railroad then came back down immediately, I bottomed the front end out, the recoil then went to the back and it bottomed it out, then there was still enough force for the front to bottom out again. Pay attention if there is a pole in the middle of now where folks!
