  1. I seem to remember a WRX being entered, although it didn't get very far. I can't seem to find much information on it now though.
  2. If you can get it to Morgantown, WV (about an hour and a half) there is an excellent shop here. They got me a new engine, completely rebuilt and installed for 2K. A bit far though, too bad Imps can't fit in the back of a pick up. Looking at the map now, it is really far. I can still try to help if you'd like, but theres probably something closer if you look hard enough, there needs to be a site that reviews shops.
  3. Yeah, BB's worked fine. It's actually a cheaper version of some 'auto balancing' system that fits on the hub. Look it up, it works. I never heard them over the roar of the tires.
  4. Mine had a balance problem at interstate speeds, but I poured some BB's in them and it seemed to fix the problem.
  5. 27" swampers fit on mine no problem I never got around to lifting it, probably never will. It gets along just fine without a lift on the farm and I've had my eye on a bronco II for the stuff that tears vehicles up.

  7. 00, tiny brakes. For a long time, I did most of my driving on the interstate, but my situation changed and I've been driving in Morgantown 90% of the time now. It EATS brakes now. The entire town is built on a hill, and the traffic is ridiculous. Before pads lasted me 50K, but now I've got 25K on them and they're pretty much metal on metal. I guess the benefit is I'm not spending as much on gas, since I'm not putting nearly the miles I used to. (I was over 30K a year at one point.)
  8. I've only found one mechanic that seems like he's worth his own shop, the rest just find ways to con you. Or don't do their job at all.
  9. What about the tranny rear crossmember? it might need some extending or something or a weird shaped pan, but it seems stout enough since its holding the tranny in place.
  10. Yeah, what I'm afraid of. I can't get a solid answer from the Lift Makers themselves on what to do about lifting it.
  11. I think I might take some measurements too, to know how different the full size legacy differs from the impreza, since you're running my struts I can't figure they're much different.
  12. I'd pay a solid 600+ for a 4 inch lift. Espaically if it was really well made/designed as is everythign on Scotts site.

  14. So what degrees would a lift from the top of the strut need in order to keep camber close to stock? I know on an EA it's 23 degrees isn't it? Any different on an EJ?

  16. So basically a piece that you bolt the strut to and then bolt the piece to the hub? Extending it? That sounds ridiculously simple.
  17. Dunno, I was told I would have to use a different strut housing or something via PM with someone else, but they haven't responded and I figured I'd just ask publicly.

  19. I've been looking for a lift foreverrrrrrr for the Lesbaru. I would like some more info on Scott's, everyone keeps saying they're working on lifts but no one ever says its quite ready.. Something quick and dirty would work well, as everyone else seems to be running their axles pretty steep without issue. Guess there isn't as big of a demand as everyone on the forum wants you to believe.
  20. What about removing the crossmemeber and welding some flat plate to it, then drilling holes in it for mounting?
  21. Why not just get a non venting can instead of screwin with teh car? You can carry a sealed one in the car just fine, I've done it before and didnt smell any gas, but it was only for about 30 minutes so I dont know how it would be for the long haul. Besides, when you open one of those it sounds liek Darth Vader is jumping out at you.
  22. I can confirm 15's fit up to 00, in 01 they they got larger discs, and grinding of the caliper is required to fit them.
  23. Check out the off road forum, thats where I got the idea from, but I went and grabbed another e brake handle from the scrap yard, grinded it down some and welded it to my stock one, widened the hole some (I might re do it, I dont like having the metal exposed) and linked the rear e brake cables. Each wheel has a single cable coming to pull the e brake, two two meet at the handle and are joined into one, I just removed the joining piece and now each handle independently pulls the brake cable.
  24. Do what I did and make your own traction control: Not that hard thanks to Subaru's goofy ebrake method. Actually made things easier. Echo'ing Nipper, it would be odd for Subaru to have traction control in '95. My Mark VIII didn't get traction control until '97, and Lincoln is ford's "top o the line" getting all those expensive near useless toys first.
