well you can always add a ton of auxillary lights like me which is of course just a tide-me-over until i can get a set of hella 90mm high and low beams.

do you have the full HID swap from an sti, or new dealer parts? search nasioc or i-club about disabling the drls... i cant remember specifics at the moment :-\

youll want that hose so that the recirculation will be complete, otherwise youll vent to atmosphere and have problems at idle i believe. ask for a pic of the ic. $30 is a great price, almost too good. i think i paid about $100 for my wrx ic.

thumbs down to the TT project. you just need one honking turbo. less moving parts, less plumbing, less weight, less hassle, less money.

is your car an auto or a manual? you could also try replacing the pcv valve. seems a lot of folks have seen black smoke when getting on/off of ramps with sweeping turns.

never gonna happen. there wouldnt be enough cars to make it competitive. at the demos around here theres usually only 1 or 2 heats of the compacts as opposed to 4 or 5 of the full size cars.

it looks like its in nice shape, but chances are you can find a similar car in the paper. theres usually a few older subarus in the local classifieds on any given day.

the knock sensor is just a microphone strapped to the block. anything loud enough could probably make it retard the timing.

see if you cant find an exhaust gasket kit. new gaskets at the crossover pipe should fix your preturbo exhaust leak. the gasket for one of my exhaust ports was shot when i first got my wagon. as far as boost, i wouldnt run any more than 10 psi. after i get my intercooler installed, ill probably kick it up to 12 or 13 psi.

i try to keep at least half a tank of gas in my cars in the winter to prevent water condensation inside the tank from tainting the fuel.

if you have a pre-turbo exhaust leak, youre being robbed of power. post turbo exhaust leaks arent going to hurt the car, but you might not pass inspection. back pressure on a turbo car is the devil. saltty, that turbo that exploded must have had some other factors involved. a turbo shouldnt fail "due to reduced back pressure".

im still young too, but the "respect" from other 16 year olds is kinda overrated. most of those kids are running their mouths because they dont have anything else to do, or mommy and daddy bought them a fancy new car, or theyre just jaded. besides, if you get a new car, it will probably just attract attention from the wrong people. and youll cry if you wreck it. and youll cry again after your insurance goes up! if you look hard enough, youll find plenty of ways to have a good time in that car. theyre tanks and will usually take anything you throw at them. looks are overrated! just throw some stickers on it and you can tell those silly kids with their civics youre as cool as they are because you have stickers too!
