when youfigure it out pleas post just incase someone els has that problem. i was thinking maby a wire that needs to be hot when the key is on so the ecu stays on maby you have it hot when cranking so it fires then you stope and it dies. just a thought idk what wire it would be.

update ok so thursday and friday i pulled the ej harness YIKES:eek:this is what i had friday night then went to jerrys (bratsrus1) and we started to strip the tape and loom Jerry on the left me on the right after that with jerrys help i started removing junk (auto trans ECU,blinkers,headlights,tail lights, ECT.) what whas removed atleast i wont be low on wire anytime soon. and viola a closed loop ej harness i was worried but the more wire i removed the lighter it got on my nervs so if you have a little help you can get it done in 2 days about 12 hours YAY now i can start to put it together

so now who is gonna pic one of theas up when its wrecked and do the first ea:grin: to boxer turbo diesel:banana:

got this from scott it was a ruff cast so i had to do some buffing then painted it black and used some liquid plastic that stuff they use on gym floors looks sweet right? so someone might notice it and if they are on the board be like huh its not lifted so it must have an... and about that time vroooom im gone

i would like to do a 5 lug swap but that will have to wait untell i have more money lol i have a legacy with wrx brakes but i cant seem to find a write up on swaping the ej stuff onto an a car.

ok so im doing my ej swap on my 89 coupe and the legacy i have has wrx brakes (5 lug ) and i was told someone did a write up on putting ej suspention on an ea car i have looked but cant seem to find anything on it anyone have a link or maby point me in the right direction thanks in the meantime im gonna keep searching.

it could just be an oil seal in the turbo in that case there would be an oily residue on the back of the car if it has been burning oil. and like bob said if the smoke is white chances are headgaskit good luck the ea82 turbo wag i had was fun then it threw a rod.

PARTS PARTS PARTS YAY got to meet scott the other day picked up my flywheel and adapter ring yea!!!! so needless to say im stoked i have all my parts and now to put it all together so check back for updates

i would guess for the brakes run a subaru master cylinder and run lines to the brakes and insted of using a pedal to actuate the master cylinder use an elctric ram.

went and got my theas the other day oh yea 5 speed turbo 4x4 tranny oh yeah and the diff that gose to it go ahead take in all that3.7 goodness went back out and started to tag and remove the harness (this is the spfi harness) got the front out here it is now im off to start tagging and removing the under dash part ok so got it out a few min ago here is what it looked like and after about 20 min now im looking at the digramms i have from the spfi conversion manual so i know what to cut so i can get just the headlights,tailights and such snd still have the harness in working order so someone could use it for a conversion.
