  2. heres what i am working on its the second subaru i ever owned and i love it like family. inside, backwall (used to be the hatch) its the first car i ever did serious body mod to. i think it looks really goo i just started on making the rear part of the bed (tail gate area)
  3. hey scott found this thread read every page man that was neat how it came to geather we really need to go wheeling.
  4. wow i was just making a joke didnt meen to start a flame war. i started to read the first few pages and i wouldent pay 100 bucks for a cat on a car that gose offroad mostly becasue the car cost me 200 in the first place. i just dont like a bunch of junk on my car. i like them simple (sorry i you think a cat isnt junk) but in my opinion its just something i dont feel a need for on my car. if you can afford a cat and if you have emissions wher you live do what you have to but i havea high suspition for as long as i have my car it will NEVER see an emissions test. anyways thats just me do what you like and do what you can afford. im not trying to burn anyone we are all intitled to our opinions. have a good day and sorry for what i caused Rob
  5. well good news i should start them tomorow got alot of things going on but im gonna get theas going. again sorry for the wait. Rob
  6. i was thinking the same thing ?? you must be good if you can change a timing belt on an ea81.
  7. well my guess is you have an open diff and the wheel on the passenger side broke loose thus makeing the drivers wheel stay. am i right.
  8. i know what a cat is and i know about the way it works but im sorry on my cars it comes off.
  9. hey welcome there are alot of nice people here and lotts more nice and not so nice cars but we love them all. hers a tast of what you will see here this is my project/winter car.
  10. for the hatch (#2) check the thermostat if it isnt opening all the way it wont let the proper amount of water through. same with a cloged rad. eather can cause this slight overheating problem. IMO just remove the thermostat use some good flush then drain put a new thermostat in and fill with antifreez thats what i do and mine works fine. as for the wagon check the oil on the dipstick not the lid my ea82 x cab has little drops almost every time i change the oil.
  11. a cat ? isnt that the thing you have to remove so you can get more horspower ? lol
  12. mine still going strong is a 1980 gl-5 wagon 5 speed 2wd with 239,989

  19. if im correct they should swap right over. same body style in the wagon hatch and coupe. the only differance is from the winshield back.
  20. i think it was 120 or something like that but jerry in selah built an ea 81 for a guy and the guy had lotts of money LOTTS and i think thats what it topped out at and it had something like decked heads down to the water jackets,ea71 pistions, cam ect. but yeah it could be done but its way way way to much money. but its your dream go for it. as for me im dropping a custom carbed ej22 into my hatch but again a dream and hopfully by wcss11 lol.
  21. have you seen this. it helped when i did my 1980 wagon. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50403 Cheers Rob:)
  22. yeah i figured someone hadalready done it. still searching tho.
  23. lol two new editions to the family. diablo stalions 89 dl coupe and his 83 wagon :-P
  24. man i wish i could do that. i love my older cars to death but im worried that the constant driving keeping up with everyone els on the road is gonna kill them. but i guess i can say i have moved up as well yesterday i wheeled and dealed and got an 89 coupe not quite new gen but im getting there.
  25. ok so yesterday diablo stalion was puting his new D/R in his dl and he gave me his old single range. well i got to looking at it and noticed with a little bit of work i could put a shift lever on the 4x4 ram or rod W/E its called and make it from the problem riddled push button 4x4 to manuel awd,4x4 single range. Im still playing with the idea but the thought of swaping a 5speed manuel single range into my auto coup gets me exited.
