  1. i would think 235's would be fine for now. you'd be reducing another stress multiplier on the axles and driveline components by not going huge with your tires and you'll also have lower gear effectivity. which is why if i hang onto lil' roo for another year I might look into getting smaller tires since she needs some new shoes again.
  2. and i got a box of them fuses... a wheeler is never actually "done"... hence your quotes are you flat-bellying the tcase?
  3. i can hear the PING! already... so you going to have this thing done by the summer?
  4. now that is some low t-case gearing! new toys are always great! get the nice polyurethane shifter sheets. nothing sucks worse than when that shifter sheet goes bad and strands your tcase in neutral...
  5. i'd prefer to find the correct part first so i can set all the mounts straight and have a clean start where everything should be sitting, then cut and weld in the drop portion and remove any unecesary stuff.
  6. Manashtash area Trail information http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/cle-elum-orv/index.html
  7. might check them out this weekend on my way back from the north marysville area.
  8. it's for my 8" lifted wagon... it has a custom one on it but the rubber bushings are fubar'd, along with the actual bracetry needs replaced... it's a custom tube setup with mustache bar ends welded on. I'm planning on just installing a new mustache bar and mounts, and welding/installing the the tube V shaped drop bracket to help triangulate it and what not. The diff is presently pitched sideways because of the worn bushings and such. Which i'm suspecting that a lot of my stub shaft breakage is coming from the diff rocking back and forth, not to mention the metal vibration sound that i've had for the last 2 years could be the forward diff mount rubbing metal to metal because the diff is cocked...
  9. nope, not just your stash i lived 3-5 minutes away from where it is located for 18 years... and i visit family there all the time, and my toyota is presently 3-5 minutes away from that yard... i rarely get down towards the tacoma pap.
  10. Well i'd like to get a group out there in July if possible, understandable for not doing it july 4th weekend, but the following weekend is the PNW4WDA Trail Jam. I have school until mid to late august, but one of the weeks in the last half of august i'll be on a 100 mile hike around Mt Rainier's Wonderland trail. So with finals for physics and Organic chem in the first half of August and a week long hike during the last half of August, and a week long family vacation in the Clearwater National Forest in Idaho directly after finals, I will be booked for August. We usually try to make it out to the manashtash area for riding a couple times a year, the ridge line trails are worth the trip alone. Mid summer fires are generally not permitted due to fire hazards. The Manashtash drainage has a larger variety of trails that are more subaru capable than the Naches Drainage. I've never been to Rim Rock or Liberty areas so i don't know those area's trail difficulties. The later in the season it gets the dustier it gets over there. I would like to get a subaru group together for a weekend campout, but if not i'll get ahold of centralgrand in ellensburg and see if he'll tag along with a subaru for the weekend.
  11. At the rate that it is not snowing this year... I figure with luck the manashtash ridge area will hopefully be mostly clear by the 4th of July. Anyone interested in a trip up the I-90 corridor for some higher elevation wheeling? The trails that would be ran range from easy to hard on the subaru wheeling scale... With plenty of options for anyone, but at least an LSD would be suggested if you are leaving the forest service roads. A lift, over sized tires and a Lincoln locker would be required for Tripod Flats and moderate to difficult trails. A lot of the trails in this area run near or along ridge lines which have gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside. Examples of trails out of the Riders and Manashtash Camp Area: Tripod Flats, Shoestring, Manashtash Ridge, Divide Ridge (fairly easy with a ton of opt outs at road crossings)... Night wheeling is legal in the National Forest, so I'm sure we could make a night run up the Divide trail or up to the top of the manashtash ridge area. Vehicle Limit would be set at around 15 vehicles. I'll double check the requirement for being considered an Event. National Forest Pass is required to camp in the Wenatchee National Forest $30 for the year or their is a daily rate of $5 a day. So who would be in?
  12. i figured as much... now to hunt for an ea81 mustache bar to modify...
  13. i was curious if the mustache bars that hold the rear diff are interchangeable? there's a bunch of EA82's at the Arlington PAP, and i need a rear mustache bar and the actual frame brackets for my EA81...
  14. well it's 3-5 minutes from my mom's house. i need to get 2 EA82 rear axles and a front right fender anyhow. my dad sent pictures of tons of EA82 wagons in there.
  15. thanks for the update, headed there on Sunday after a family get together in marysville... need to find a EA81 mustache bar.
  16. well lacking compared to last season, where the toilets were buried, and the road to parking lot was a wheeling trip in itself. sweet, always ready for more pics. i'm headed out to work on the lil' roo, i'm really itching to go wheeling. i think i found the weird vibrating sound and part of the reason i'm grenading axle stubs constantly. the diff is pivoting sideways and the forward mount is rubbing in the mounting bracket. I'll have to redo the rear diff mount before i take it anywhere.
  17. good to see another project being worked on brian, you going to finish this one? i'll hopefully be getting a chance to be working on mine late in march, when i have a week off from school. so where's the picture of the body? didn't see one when i was flipping through the pages.
  18. looks awesome! a little more trail ready than the pickup was. when's your next trip out to get some more pictures?
  19. great pics ken! they really are lacking some snow up there this year.

  21. 17th is no good for me, sorry i won't be able to make it. i have been seriously preoccupied and haven't been on much in the last month. i got into an accident the week before christmas in monroe. so i'll be busy fixing the EA82's fender, unibody and i need to fix a preexisting brake problem before i can start back working on lil' roo. I need to get access to a welder and resetup the mustach bar on lil' roo also, i think that might be part of the problem with the rear shafts.
  22. here's some pics of my newest car, a lifted EA82 for running to and from the passes. These were from the trip to Mt. Baker for opening day on sunday. and yes i know there is a fog light out... i just need to go out and fix the ground wire... it's cold, i'm lazy... also passed that solid axle brat from bellingham with the full exo cage... that thing is huge... way taller than my toyota, and it only has 36" tires.... a little too top heavy for my liking.
  23. where's the picture of your sponsor...
  24. lmao it's been wheeled... and the person that put the last lift in decided to swap in the EA82 shocks which sagged the rear... albeit it does limit the axle from over extending that way and drives fairly smooth.
