the funny part is his car is built unlike the hti's cars... if you build them, they are bigger, better and a lot more capable. the subaru next to his is a standard subaru sized lift and tire combo. (one of zaps many old subarus that he's built.) i just thought it was funny, this picture was in '05 and on a toyota web page. and it appears there's a white yota of someone else's also.

that's rob (turbone), he's just as tall as i am. about 5' 6". and his car's about the same height as mine. and Zap standing next to him.

stumbled across these interesting vehicles, from an old reiter trails clean up page...

well, carb, efi debate... which is why ultimately i'm getting the gotpropane kit and 2, 8 gallon forklift tanks. when the truck becomes a full blown trailer queen... carbs work fine, when tuned properly, they can cough and have problems on side hills and steep inclines. but i haven't not been able to make an obstacle just cause it was a carbed engine. it's more of what you prefer, if your good at tuning a carb! go for it! (i suck at tuning them...) propane

lol!! they thought 44" tires!... if i could only access the smilies panel at work! dana 44's, common half ton axles. but if your going toyota. in my opinion, build the yota axles. with 30 spline longfields in the front and chromo rears you can get about the same strength as a dana 60. minus the smaller pinion and ring gear. and truss the hell out of them. that's what i'm doing to mine, but i'll be running 39.5" iroks! can't wait to see this build.

triangulated 4-link? coilovers? 1/4 elliptical springs? leafs? coils?i also have a set of dana 44's, front and rear lockers, 4.56 gears, front and rear disc brakes... that i was going to use for my subaru... if you need any decent sized axles too?...

hmmm... frame arrive... hmmm... others don't read the other posts... i got these 35's for sale! lol... but the otherside of washington

plenty of sand and there's some rocky trails we'll be scouting also. bring the brat, it's got a lift right? -
this is copied over from the nww board, each post was seperated by///// get active! if i didn't live so far away i'd be at that orv rally!! 4 months! i want the wheeling to still be around!
-
and read a hint somewhere on another forum... can't wait to see the photos of this build! always like watching extreme little subaru's! and a offroad dedicated rig is way better than a daily driver. learned that one, and never again a dd for my main 4x4.

well i and one or 2 other yuma 4 wheelers are going to superstition mountains ohv area on the outskirts of el centro, ca. it's about 13,300 acres. everything from sand dunes to rocks, easy to most difficult. camping is primitive. anyone going to come?
-
Just Empty Every Pocket... it's way cheaper for me to build what i want out of a yota then a jeep. just my 2 cents...
-
yes there are, a couple of them. moses lake sand dunes, beverly sand dunes and another one also. they're nothing like glamis, that i have in my back door right now... i'll be in winchester bay, for dune fest this year or in mid july. haven't decided. quads though, not my car.

the name didn't bother me, it was the elite of subarus, and i'm still proud to sport my umpteen million stickers, and magnets. it could stay going, or die out, but the friends it created will last a really long time. one of the large reason's i'm moving back, i miss that group. the vehicles that take them doesn't matter anymore. but the wheeling with ken, eric, brian, and tex. the campouts, the good atmosphere and friends hanging out doing what they all share in common. if you want to have someone take over, i'll step up for awhile, but in a toy... hmm... how about a late july, early august camp out... welcome home jared, evan's creek. maybe i'll even have the toy done. it's the way i went out, a HP campout at evan's. or maybe a new begining, Rim Rock's "Pucker Ridge" or Naches's "Moon Rocks" and "Goofy Rocks?"

your missing out. good time and hard trails.
-
31x10.5 BFG M/T's good stout tire. has put up with a lot of draging across the rocks in az.
-
looks like someone needs a lift... tires, and a good fender trim...
-
nice pics, look likes you had fun!

well if your done, complaining... some of the other posts have subaru's in them. but a lot of yota's mix in with subaru's... it's just a fact, and like heep says the more you intermix the better the comunity. it's an offroad section.and where's the pix of your rig wheeling at the evans run? i saw this run posted everywhere... if you don't have a capable wheeler, i'll sell you mine in july.
-
yeah, for my yota... :-p i'm selling lil roo with all the stuff in the above post when i get back to washington, so july she'll be being sold. i'll miss her, she's my first car and has well over $6k invested into her over the years. but you gotta do what you gotta do. always, moving forward, never backwards. and i need the money to buy more parts for the yota.

rob was up there in a subaru! ken got one awhile ago. along with me and a few others. the hp runs started up there, it's kind of the hp's stomping ground. i guess you'd have to have been here a lot longer, to understand the history and maybe some of the transition... the last run i made up there was with the hp, at my going away, in 2002... eek! it's been awhile! or was it 2003 when i moved to az...
