  1. If you think you have a knock, get a second opinion from a non dealer, but qualified garage(with subaru knowledge). 32k is low to be knocking. Does the car have any other symptoms. i.e. noise more pronounced at certain rpm, power loss when knocking. There is a thread somewhere in the new gen that has a good sound clip of a knock, compare it to what you are hearing.
  2. I did a test fit of the tie rod from an ea81 non power rack, to a legacy knuckle. The tie rod tightened up perfectly, just like in an ea81 knuclke.
  3. Yeah, thats what I said...
  4. I'm quite sure my cars have been threw hell and back. And I really don't wanna know...
  5. You can use wrx stuff on the front. Only the rear coilover kits will work of your rear stuff however. As far a the search function, if you are entering it in as such: wrx suspension, phrase it as "wrx suspension" and it will only search for those two words as a phrase and not seperately
  6. The lagacy front bits require just the same amount of work as xt6. For the rear there is an aussie site selling adapter hubs and other parts to use legacy rear brakes on ea81/82 cars. But they are a bit pricy by my standards. www.crossbredperformance.com
  7. I'm pretty sure you can too. I've looked around a little bit.
  8. Its feasable to run a low boost (5-8psi) setup safely on an n/a motor. With bigger injectors and a good tune it would be safe, reliable and fun.
  9. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=72433 He doesn't go into a whole lot of detail on the procedure, also check out his photo's.
  10. With an ej swap, to keep it in the family.
  11. You would probably only need to change the strut/ spring assemblies between the two. You could probably find someone with a 2.5i that would trade with you in all honesty. And there are some good cheap fmic sold on ebay by ss auto chrome, that have been tested up to 500whp range, with little drop in pressure. There are an exact knock off of a big company, but I can't remeber which one at this time. And with the fmic you could easily swap to a 2.5i hood to do away with the scoop. Also, with the fmic kits you'll have to get an aftermarket intake, the spt, cobb, and k&n typhoon systems are the only ones I'd recommend because they are designed to no mess with the maf's readings as some kits do. As far as internals, the wrx's are stronger, as well as substancially lower in compression. The 2.5i has 10:1 compression ratio, and that is far from ideal for a turbo.
  12. Hmmm, when did a relay become a computer.
  13. Looks good. I love black vehicles too. So that makes it all the better. Only thing I personally wouldn't like is the automatic. But it looks like a pretty good deal.
  14. I read somewhere that there is a difference in the depth of the shank on the back of the wheels in the ea82 cars v. legacy/impreza but it will work.
  15. If its a single wire o2 in both cases it should work. Assuming the thread size/pattern are the same. IIRC the originals do look like a spark plug.
  16. We have to conform to stricter emmisions standards, even back in the 80's.
  17. Well since its set to run a turbo, which would make the actual comp ratio much more than that of the "high compression ratio" of a n/a motor. It would run it. Just not optimally without the turbo. It can be done.
  18. The fifth one, of the rocker rust is kinda blurry. The rest are good. Better now that you edited their positions, lol.
  19. Damn big foots... Never had a problem 10.5W
  20. The holes are there in legacys for it to screw into. I'm assuming since I've seen non sunroof imprezas with the maplights as well it should be there too. They use the same maplight as 95-99 legacy IIRC.
  21. This works pretty well, but you've gotta repeat within a month usually to keep the clearness and shine.
  22. Yeah, that was me. He picked it up a few weeks ago. The guy was from Maryland if I recall.
