  1. MMMMM, Obsidian Black. MMMMM That should be sexy man. Can't wait... :headbang:
  2. LOL, if we're gonna go small block 350 or nothing. FTW
  3. Dear baby jesus..... Can you see over that hood hump is the question, I fear for the lives of small children. Nice car though man:headbang:
  4. In theory, you could run two tcs computers, one front one rear. But thats a lot of crap to go through imho.
  5. Good to here ya got her going right. ECU's are a minor thing. Aren't you glad you had a spare.
  6. Well that looks pretty bad. If you absolutely have to reuse this block, you could find a good engine shop that has done resleeving before. But money says you'd be better, and cheaper, off to get another motor.
  7. If he were wanting to make one running brat yeah. But with wanting to have two running with parts swapped between them. His best bet is to tranny and rear end swap. In order to make the already manual brat a turbo, he would have to do a big wiring swap, along with fuel pump, lines, and possibly tank. Then the engine crossmember and full exhaust system. Then he would have trouble with the cali emitions test because of the motor swap. The most logical approach would be to leave the engines where they are and swap over trany and rear ends, driveshafts, and pedal assys. Then do a little fabbin up for the 4wd selector. If he is quick and good he could theoretically have it done in a weekend.
  8. The newer ones, 00 and up have bigger brakes, 16's are the smallest that will fit them. I think its the same sixe brake as the wrx, but I could be wrong.
  9. I agree completely. If it is converted, and done right, jump on it.
  10. Well a clutch won't effect the speed to rpm in any way, at all, period. And that sound is probably not normal. How long has it been since it was changed?
  11. I have never seen or heard of this before.
  12. Man pretty much any oem subaru part that has STi on it is out of my price range. Well except the badges:lol:
  13. That guy has been going around saying all sorts of uninformed junk like that. Let me know if you don't have any luck locally on those struts.
  14. That is a good point for the distributer hole. If you knew how much force it would take to turn the pump. And compared it to say maybe the force of a water pump from an ej series. I could be just spitting in the wind, but it might give an idea of forces on the timing belt. Care to shed a little light on the new belt setup? Or is that a later installment?
  15. That looks like my ea81 alternator.... Exteral regulators can:Flame:
  16. You can get the tool at advance auto for around 5 bucks. The one I have is a cube, with different sides made for different style. The channel lock idea is ok, but you run the risk of damaging the seal around the piston and costing you more money than if you have proper tools in the first place.
  17. Only problem I see with that would be pump to frame rail clearance. It would probably need to be behing the head, yet to the side of the starter.
  18. Loyale had the turbo option in 90 only. If it is an ea82 mpfi, its probably out of an xt.
  19. If it weren't for the fact of the wiring conversion, fuel pump change, fuel line upgrade to efi grade for the 82 you would probably be right. Not to mention that you'd have to change the engine crossmember, exhaust systems, swap bars. And then the turbo's have beefier springs up front for the extra weight, and to improve handling. Mikeshoup just did the 4spd d/r conversion in his turbo wagon. It's over in the retrofitting section.
  20. I got my brat about 6 years ago from a side o'the road place here. Asking price was 1700, After ten minutes I had it for $400.
  21. +5,000,000,000 These "small" things could be compounding something small like plugs and wires.
  22. search classic garage on yahoo. it came up in the first few links for me.
  23. You can count on that. Its the newest car either the wife or I have had, we got it with just shy of 30k on the clock. She's having a little trouble adjusting to its bigger size(coming from a civic) But other than that she's doing good. Planning on having this one untill the wheels fall off of it in 30 years or so:grin:
