  1. Yeah, welded diff for the off road. His brat probably won't see that though.
  2. Its easy to get them confused when on hash:lol: I would probably recommend the ea82 sedan for its weight and that most all legacy/impreza suspension will work with some mods
  3. Any ea82 car will easily accept any dohc ej motor. Wiring the swap into any car will be a pain however, but it can be done. Or there are board members offering the service, no sure if they'd enjoy jdm wiring though;) . Also if you are thinking of importing a 2000 STi I will personaly come and hit you if you rallyx it. Seeing as how the STi made its debute in 2004 in the USA.
  4. True. And they also sat at "non outback" height, had the normal 95 bumpers, and had the two tone scheme. There is one running around here and it looks really really odd to me:grin:
  5. I think he said once in another post stock ea82 front and rear section with wrx mid section for the tranny mount... I could be wrong
  6. Yeah. I'll vouch for that. I've managed to ever get like three out successfully from many attempts to do so. If you get a price from a dealer let me know I need.... Well how many are there total?
  7. Well the car is a 92 so it's obd1. It won't care to not have the second cat there at all. My 90 never thought twice about having only the y cat
  8. Sounds like somebody is trying to plug stuff from their new employer:clap:
  9. Only one way to find out... Do you know what year or anything that diff came out of?
  10. Did the 4wd light up with the 3at? If it did you could hook it up from the switch in the same area as the reverse switch. It has to be there somewhere.
  11. You Sir, are correct.
  12. Hmmm. I've got a viscous lsd in the 91 T-Leg. I was wondering what it looked like.
  13. That poor poor cyl wall. That makes me hurt. Glad you have somebody who knows a thing or two and can fix it:headbang:
  14. I'm thinking complete suspension overhaul. But after looking a little closer today, I think its too big of a b*tch to do that. XT6 is looking good now.
  15. I've been looking for a good fcd, what would you recommend with an easy instalation. The home made one ilustated on legacy central is more than I want to attempt
  16. Wow. It looks so much smaller off the car!
  17. That had me all confused and doing a search. I wasn't thinking intake ports, I was thinking exhaust ports like on the ej22 phase 1 and phase 2
  18. What are the dimentions on that fmic? I looked at the brat. And damned if it wouldn't be sexy with a front mount. Just don't know if I wanna go THAT big.
  19. Well I've got a full metal shop at my disposal. And I'm planning on using 1st gen legacy brakes with an upgrade planned for the future. I've got the ideas in my head for putting the complete suspension from the rear, minus the legacy struts, under the Brat. We'll see if it pans out.
  20. We won't go there. But I agree on the mechanical aspect of that comment...
  21. Congrats on the conversion from honda to subaru. I just converted the wife last weekend.
  22. Thats not a bad rate. Our local guy charged close to that on mom's 98 a few years back. And he knows these things inside out. Just comes down to whether or not you trust your motor's life to him or not.
  23. I'm so very torn between the 97-99 GT's and the 05-07 on styling it hurts. I'm a manual trans kinda guy myself and I think the 5mt in this one is one of best shifting units subaru has ever put out. It just needs a short throw to keep up with me in spirited driving . We also test drove an 05 auto... Mom's 98 2.2 auto would have ripped that think a new a-hole. This new one is the wifey's car. I've got pretty much all I've asked for carwise in the last few years(even though they have been old and rusty:grin: ). She deserves something safe and reliable. That civic was about to drive me insane with wiring gremlins.
