gen 1 jumpseats into a gen 2??
You can use the entire setup from a gen one, providing you have the stock gen two headrest brackets and a drill. I had to drill a hole about 3/4 to 1 into up from the existing top hole on the gen 1 sliders. The rest is simple.

hmmmm, should i make a bad joke at your expense...

quick question re: shifter
you'll need a straight punch that is exactly the same size as the roll pin, or just slightly smaller, using a tapered punch usually expands the pin making it almost imposible to remove without damaging it

EA81T front springs ... vs EA82T RX front springs?
I really don't think i've ever heard of aftermarket performance stuff for any ea81 car. Would be really interesting to find though. What is the spring specs on the standard ea81 2wd and 4wd front springs?

Speedometer Calibration
86BRATMAN replied to Slegacy96's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt's not too uncommon to find flood damage cars on lots either. But some time back there were several cars damaged at a local ford/used lot when we had a pretty decend flood here. At least ten of them showed up at a small lot and they claimed them to have never been in water at all... After a long discusion I pulled up the carpet in a sebring and showed him what I knew, end of dicussion he walked away mad as hell. Anyway, I check where that speedo 'should' have been, but my dad has been moving stuff around in the building. Would have tried more but a car hit some black ice and clipped a power pole knocking out power on the block until after i left. I'll scrunge around some more over the weekend.

Speedometer Calibration
86BRATMAN replied to Slegacy96's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNot to worry then, most people don't even think about that kind of stuff when buying a car. A friend of mine got screwed over on a 00 honda prelude and paid way more than he should have because the odometer had been changed, the dealer knew about it but fail to inform him of it. He's currently exploring his options of suing them because of this.

Speedometer Calibration
86BRATMAN replied to Slegacy96's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI think it had 140k or in that area, I replaced the whole cluster with one from a 95-96 L because I the brighton with no tach, might be possible to roll it back to get it close to where you would like it. I personally wouldn't worry about it unless somebody buys the car and tries to say you've lied about the car's mileage.

Speedometer Calibration
86BRATMAN replied to Slegacy96's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI should be able to let you know tomorrow night, as the stuff from those days is still at my parent's house, I'll be up there after work tomorrow. I had those exact same guages in my 95 wagon, up until one of the wires broke off, they are somewhat delicate, so take care when handling them near the area the wires go to the actual guage.

Cool New Purchase With An Eerie Side (56K, take a nap)
IMO it has a lot to do with the color of the car they are going on, but bling bling gold makes me want to hurl, while tasteful gold or bronze on the right color is a beautiful sight.

I've heard many good things about these kits, but some of them have a good sticker shock with them. I've considered making the kit myself when the time comes. I'm more worried about breaking the trans when it comes down to it.

Trans Question ea82 v. ej22
In an effort to avoid cutting on my brat too much I have a question. Does anybody know how these transmissions compare in size? Phizinza has ea82 mounts bolted to an ej22 trans case, would this in theory allow me to use an adaptor made to put the ea82 5sp into the ea81 body without rubbing? If it does i could justify spending the extra cash to save bashing and cutting and all that extra work at this stage in the project.

clutch kits on ebay
86BRATMAN replied to powderhound's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXwhen it comes to upgraded clutches its hard to go wrong with exedy, they have one of the best pedal feels i've ever experienced, have personally had two on honda vehicles but i've driven a wrx, and 99 leg gt with them. they are great value for the money, i'd like to know how it would feel with a cabled clutch because even the hydro's i've been around have been a little harder to push

Thats right people, The old Gen subaru designers were way ahead the Subaru Technica International!!!! So what if our gen turbo cars only got 91 heart pounding, blood curdling horsepower.... We had gold before gold was the cool thing to do!

here it comes
I'm not too concerned with longevity myself, ej22's can be had from one junk yard near me for about 150-200 even if they take it out. My motor has around 218k on it when i took it out of the leg, and I should have the td04 and wrx tmic this weekend. I'm thinking about getting the x-member from an 83 turbowagon just for the use of my buddies stock manifold and uppipe, since he said i could have it. Just for precausion I would probably get bigger injectors, something like wrx stock or 300zx turbo's, before i'd throw it all together. And the rising rate reg, or FMU depending on who makes them, wouldn't be out of the question. And I can get the 100 octane gas from the airport, i think its going for around 3.50-4 a gallon these days. And I have never been a fan of nitrous, I have personally seen too many professionally tuned cars blow apart using it to ever consider going that route. Only one place i would use it, and that is on the ic.
