I'll try to get some interior shots this weekend, we're forcasted to get a NorEaster so all that snow should make some interesting shots. This was the 1st old turbo I had ever seen, I snatched it up within a couple of days of seeing the ad 2 years ago. Put-Put test drive...I knew it had bad compression...still paid a grand cause body was in great shape. I replaced cracked head & resealed engine (couldn't have done it without your help). As far as I know, I'm only USMB on EastCoast with ea81t. Local dealer (w&l subaru) actually took an interest in this project....every other old soob I've owned...they would just laugh. I was cleaning interior this past summer & came across an old drug store magnet w/ a Tennessee address...so I assume this car grew up as a "volunteer rebel". The car got its name "Stupidru" from when I worked at Advance Auto Parts. We called Subaru's Stupidru's cause there were so many frigin questions you had to ask the customer to find exactly what they needed (so many variations of each model), it was a pain in the neck to narrow it down. Needless to say I was the butt of everyone's Subaru jokes cause all of them drove mopar-ford-chevy. But they all agreed on one thing...that a subaru is durable and practically indestructable...if well maintained. I've had Subaru fever since 1983 when a friend of mine went in debt by purchasing an 83 gl-10 2wd 5speed.

read the ecs code...it might be a o2 sensor....the o2 sensor is below the turbo heat shield.

SOA's Headgaskets are the same price as Advance.

Somewhere along the line someone put 2wd axles instead of turbo axles on my ea81t. The only reason I know this is cause Subaru did an axle for me, they found that turbo boot wouldn't fit on 2wd axle. I'll have to put some more thought into the lift cause my daughter will also be driving the car, I want it to be safe, she doesn't want to drive the Ford....hummm another Subaru Freak. Thanks fellas.

Miles, so what your saying is I don't need to lift the whole car as long as I'm lifting trans crossmember and the swaybar mounts with washers. Matt, I was just going to swap in a single range 5speed cause I never go 4 wheelin. I think I can use my old drive shaft & axle's for this swap...correct?

Did you use the drive shaft & axle from you twagon? Did you use a single range push button 5speed? Miles...will a 1 inch lift be enough....so I won't have to modify the tunnel?

Call junk yard, if they are on a salvage network, they should be able to find one for ya.....you'll pay out the arse though. Cheapest I could find was $1000.00 w/ 71,000 miles. I'm going to wait to see if I can luck out & stumble across one...I'm in no hurry. Mine needs rebuilt, but I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet.

Matt..how fast are we talkin here...ludicrous speed? I've been debating this upgrade....cmon, talk me into it!

Rob..I had those wheels on an 84 4x4 carbed sedan...that came w/ auto tranny only as well. But I think those wheels where offered as an accessory

I'll meet you guys at EZPULL, since I'm after EA81 parts & then to Harry's for some early 90's legacy stuff. I'll need directions to EZPULL though. Dave...quess you'll be after some SVX stuff.
