  1. Ah c'mon...its just a joke...I mean, look at my user name for cryin-out-loud! Sorry Eric, I'm just goofin around. Jay (Stup)
  2. We just got another 6 inches Friday morning, alberta clipper went through again, whatever that is.
  3. I guess I could repair fender, but I found a good rust-free cosmic blue fender in a jy. Only trouble is, I'd be missing portion of decal. http://home.ptd.net/~mjseidel/2.jpg
  4. Turbone, get some of your boys to collect the DECALS...capish
  5. Did Corky ever receive the decals from Billy C. I'm in need of a portion of Turbo Decal for ea81t.
  6. Sorry...I feel your pain. I have $2500.00 in mine & just got it running right. But now its time for the 5speed conversion.
  7. Eyesore...unless you swapped in an ea82, you don't have timing belts...ea71's & ea81's are gear driven. I never owned a Subaru under 100k. Stupidru just turned 158,000. Highest mileage I achieved was an 84 4x4 Sedan carb auto 190,000. The engine went 40,000 without an oilchange before rings finally give out. It leaked oil so I just kept topping it off.
  8. Count me in, I'm registered. I'm excited about this event! I was only to one event, last year at the Shootout at BeaverSprings. It was a washout & only 6 oldschoolers. See ya in May!
  9. Shawn & Carfreak who made measurments to determine how much length was needed, who did the weld work. Carfreak why didn't you just use the ea82 shaft, is the ea82 a exact fit. Ed do you have exact numbers. Why is shawn's entirely different, is it because he's using an rx tranny. I think Miles said that he installed the tranny without a lift. Carfreak & Ed do you guys have lifts?
  10. How much length did you have to get put on the driveshaft & is it the same length for turbo/non-turbo tranny? Will you get better performance gains out of the rx turbo tranny opposed to the non-turbo tranny? What about an xt6 mt?
  11. I knew it! I knew they'd turn you into a subaru freak! Tim, life as you know it has just taken a strange twist!
  12. Ed & carfreak did you have to lengthen the driveshaft?

  14. I use to live to live in Melbourne, but that was 20 years ago. I got my escort stock in the sand. I found out not to drive on loose sand, its 20 times worse than snow, some dude came along in a pick-up & pulled me out. Could have used a subaru then.
  15. I'd give it a complete tune-up, then if that doesn't work, repost the problem. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, breather-filter, air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, oil change. The overheating is probably a seperate issue, but should be taken care of first, if you plan on keeping car. The worst thing you can do to a Subaru is let it overheat. These engines are extremely sensitive to heat because of the aluminum heads & block. Check coolant level, you may need to drain old coolant & add new. If that doesn't work, you probably need new radiator or thermos-stat. These old ones are infamous for the radiator clogging, the best fix is to replace. The radiator is very easy to replace, a few bolts & disconnect hoses. Good thing your fans are working, otherwise you would have done some serious damage by now.
  16. The 3at over 55mpg, the rpm's really hinder the performance. With 5speed is that eliminated, can you cruise at high speeds at lower rpm's. I have ea81t, contemplating 5speed conversion. Thanks, Jay
  17. I'm still in for yard run. If I have a Subaru at that time. I sold tlegacy to a board member & have a USMB buyer for ea81t. I have my sites set on an ea82t wagon...if everything works out!
