well im looking at this car for a friend. the person who is selling it said that he was on the freeway and smoke came ouit of the engine bay and by the time he got home it was starting to vaporlock which i have no idea what that is. now he says when he starts the car it will overheat very quickly. im going to look tomorrow and i am suspecting heatercore hoses. he said exhaust is white when he starts the car but its been very cold here lately and hard to tell if its a problem or just cold out

how do i tell if a car has bad headgaskets? im going to look at a car for a friend tomorrow that is overheating (ea82). it sounds like it might be a heater core hose or another coolant hose but i would like to know the symptoms or how to identify bad headgaskets. thanks!

i was also curious if just gl's came with sunroofs? or was that a gl10 thing

what greens did the ea82 models come in? i know theres the tea green but did they ever make a forest green? or any other greens. the car im looking at has an extra 1800 engine and has timing chains? is this a ej18 im thinking? but just got the shibby on the car. 170k aftermarket forest green matelic 85 gl D/R. mint body supposdely. AWESOME COLOR!

you are going to need the DR lever linkage but it will bolt right in

i dont think that brats had the third light only wagons through 80-82. but not completely sure

should bolt right in. easier than my auto to D/R conversion i would suspect. but i dont know much about ea81s

tonight i plugged in my reverse light switch and my 4x4 tell tale switch on my tranny. only problem is neither of them work. checked fuses and the discovered the ground wire running from the spare tire area towards the transmission doesnt go anywhere. does anyone know where that ground goes into the wiring for those switches? its a 92loyale with a d/r thanks!

what i did with my oil pan gasket was cover it with rtv to make it a rubber gasket with cork inside. and make sure the cork is fine not thick chunks. GD had some trouble with a thick cut cork ea82 oil pan gasket that eventually just ripped in half. dealership all the way

i cut mine off too when i got my car but that was because the previous owner hit a curb and it looks better gone

im assuming you dont want the grill? ill get the light. the switch and the try to grab some wiring, ill see. i think theres two there. one i remember for sure isnt very pretty but ill look for ya! but if you only want one thats good looking ill keep my eye out
