  1. les schwab wouldnt alinge my tires!?! because "they were too big" so now i have to swap the stock ones on to get an alingment. what a joke:dead:
  2. is it possiable for my waterpump to go and not leak anything at all? weep hole is also dry. i took the radiator out yesterday and it looked fine. so i flushed it and put in back in with 50-50 mix..... ill try the tstat and the circulation test. thanks gloyale
  3. haha no i meant some sort of plastic trim. the cut was not a perfect shape and i dont like the sharp edge there so im looking for something to make it look a little cleaner
  4. oh and i have been getting a low pitched whisteling noise. waterpump?
  5. obviously my car is not prepared for the summer heat. it has been running warm lately. i though it was the clutch fan which was missing 2 blades so i swaped that and flushed the radiator. but it still runs warm. not as bad. do water pumps make any distinct sound when they are getting bad? and i have absoutly no leaks in my system. and my thermostat is operations properly. after a drive the upper hose was hot as hell. could my radiator just be getting old?
  6. yes turbone that was the first i checked. wasnt spefic enough. and they were on 13 chevy redrilled rims. 25.5 inches across. (got them for free) but after a day of cutting and pounding in 90 degree weather i got them all to fit with no rubbing. now i just need something to put where i cut the fender. any ideas? pics soon to come. its looks great even with no lift. very excited
  7. ok so i searched and couldnt find anything spefic for my car. so sorry to repeat a question asked a million times. but i have some 205/75 R13's on some chevy lugs and they are already drilled. can i fit them on myloyale with minimal or no cutting in the rear. i dont mind cutting the front. any help?
  8. they werent warped at all i checked so i didnt get resurfaced. the heads looks to be in excellent condition actually no pitting or anything. i know that coolant didnt get down there because it was driven about 20 miles total and coolant had to be added each time it was driven. it would smoke when warmed up but stop after about 3-6 miles
  9. thats why i had to double check. i wasnt sure if they were one or the other or if it changed halfway through the year. thanks guys
  10. Solved. turns out it was a dirty positive terminal. ii feel dumb. but i never would have guessed that with everything the electrical was doing
  11. oh dont worry you didnt burst anything. if it was a straight swap i would have done it for the hell of it. so you say a 87 4wd gl is SPFI not carbed?
  12. were 87 gls carbed or FI? and could you put mpfi heads on a spfi block? would there be massive wiring or would it plug right into the spfi harness?
  13. i know it can do some weird stuff if those wires are crossing. on a different note. were 87 gl's carbed of FI'ed?
  14. coolant in the cylinder when i pulled the head off. also the head gasket was wet. intake manifold and IM gasket are both good. so if my head gasket is wet....? also is it possiable if one of the coolant journals is cloged and that rerouted coolant and forced it to the HG?
  15. thanks everyone ell get started on this if i dont buy another soob before hand. i hate wiring and FYI dont do a auto to manual swap. (i think thats what caused the whole problem)
  16. got the head off today. def leaking coolant into drivers side cylinder. could not see visiable crack or feel one. is it possiable there is a crack in the head that is completely internal? and how often does the case crack? it seemed fine as well
  17. my raido didnt turn on with everything else. only with the key in. i just had an idea it was that because when i installed it a year back some wires touched and sent my car into haywire mode. was thinking it could possiably be that again? is there anyother fuses besides the ones under the steering collum and besides the fuseable links?
  18. so it started about 3 days ago. when to start my car and no power. got a jump and it would turn over but not start. gauges werent working. i replaced a fuse and i was good to go. last night at 5am my horn went on HOOOONNNNNKK by itself till i went out and punched the steering wheel and it stoped. neighbors werent to happy. drove fine all day today and went home for about an hour and went to start my car boom low low low volts not enough to turn over engine gauges were going crazy auto seatbelt was going nuts lights were flashing it was like a laser light show in my car. checked all my fuses and they were all good, tryed to jump it and push start it but wouldnt turn over. kicked it, gave up and dissconnected the battery. (dont want it making a 5am wakeup call anymore) could this be possiable stereo wiring crossing maybe? or something far far far worse
  19. i got everything but the timing belts and head gaskets at the dealer. that dummy didnt connect the heatercore hose correctly before driving and didnt check his fluids before going to work the next day. ill do some compression checks and the coolant pressure check on friday. ill keep you posted
  20. except for you Bucky92 i think you have more auto sense than he does
  21. i dont think the HG are blown because they were installed one day before he overheated it. he does what a girl would do in a similar situation just keep flooring it
  22. one problem i ran into when i did this sawp was the netural switch. best option would be to get a DR out of a FI model then there would be a spot in the tranny for the switch. if you use one out of a carbed vehicle you will have to rig something up like GeneralDisorder did or just leave it out and have a constant CEL like i did if your car is a carbed model then i wouldnt worry about it. also you have to rerun the ebrake cable but there is a mount higher up on the tunnel already there for you. also best option would be to rewire just the telltale it self and not swap for the manual wiring. only took me about 2 hours. i think thats all i can remeber that wasnt covered by anyone eles posts.
  23. well how it burns at startup is it doesnt start smoking instantly after the starts to get a little warm it starts to smoke. and it smokes alot. thick and white for awhile. then it starts to go away and after the drive we have to add more coolant. havent had a chance to check the exhaust ports due to the car being at my brothers. ill keep you updated thankd for the help and if anyone thinks of anything else i can try please let me know
  24. it seems to smoke when it warms up. im thinking when the thermostat opens? it has new intake gaskets head gaskets exhaust gaskets and com tower o rings. guess ill take the head off again but i didnt see a crack when i looked the first time i took the heads off. so im gonna pull the drivers side again and look. (the gasket that blew) anyone have a spare head?
  25. so my brother blew the head gaskets on his ea82 the other week. we replaced those and did all that proper work. but for some reason its still burning coolant during startup:confused: has not over heated since though. is there any other place where coolant can get into the combustion chamber? or does someone have a ea82 engine they would like to sell
