  1. Continuation...! Axle reassebled and Car on ground, after drivnig. Before: After: For Sale: Strut Guards, Will fit any Front or Rear struts on EJ models. $25 Shipped/$20 Local pickup. Strut shaft boots, These are for Rear struts but would work on the Fronts too (Bump-Stops hold boots in place) $9 Shipped/$5 Pickup. -Tom
  2. You'd want '98-01 Forester springs for your Outback. And yes it will lift it 3/4" more about, and you can change the top hats to Forester ones aswell since they are thicker.
  3. I have done this....! http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=939905#post939905
  4. Continued...! Clearances: Clearance from Spring perch: Before Clearance from Spring Perch: After The Tools: Next up is my passenger side axle... Sometime ago this axle was rebuilt by the P.O, seeing how this guy used Zip-ties for boot clamps and failed to install the snap-ring on the axle shaft (DOJ side) my axle shaft popped out due to not having a Snap-ring to hold it. Oh yes I found the snap-ring, it was bent and laying in the cup of the DOJ. I have now taken the DOJ appart and have a new snap-ring. I'll assemble the axle tomorrow along with installing it into the car. Pictures... New Snap-ring. Continuing.... Another Day!
  5. Long Awaited pictures are here! Rear: Forester Rears Vs Legacy Rears: Outback Rears Vs Legacy Rears: Assembled: Dropped rear crossmember for much need movment: Other side: Front: Out: Forester Fronts Vs Legacy Fronts: Outback Fronts Vs Legacy Fronts: Assembled: Read Next Post For More...!
  6. GD, just to give you a stright answer to the Gen-3 heads. No, the gen 3 heads were also on Loyales (Wagons, Sedans) MilesFox has a set of Gen-3 EA82 heads in his garage that he showed me. -Tom
  7. I think the white/chrome grille would look pretty spiffy. Kinda stands out to much in black. If you don't like that grille, you can always put one in from a Legacy L '95 to I think '98 had the more sleek grille.
  8. Perfect timing! Yep leftover parts are indeed handy. I'll have to check out the legacy next. I have more orange paint if ya need it.
  9. Lol. Yep I found out today that these are longer then the stockers! I just got done with the rears today and wow its nice. Sits a lot higher! Gonna look good when I get the front done - will attemp tomorrow. The old rear struts (208,000) the driver sides piston won't even stay up on its own without the spring on it (Amazing!) the tire used to hop off the ground like a basketball. The other side wasn't much better, but would stay up on its own, but didn't have the power to push its self back up. No more cadillac ride with the new struts :-p
  10. Nip, thats looking really good. Glad you posted some pics of it!
  11. I wouldn't worrie about replacing the engine, The EA82 is a pretty roboust engine and will stand the test of time, Sure the EA82T has issues with Heads cracking due to the boost pressures - but if you keep the boost low and keep your eye on the temp it'll be a hapy engine. Possibilities why its not firing: Coil failed, doubt that. Cap and Rotor failed, Possible. IGN Fuse blew, Maybe. Driver Side Timing belt broke, Since the Driver side timing belt also runs the Distributor - if that belt broke you'd have no ignition spark. And that could be a very possiable cause to not starting. Hope some of this helps -Tom
  12. Just turn your wheels around and mount them backwards (Rear of rim facing outwards) That'll give you some extra width for sure
  13. Are you getting spark? Maybe change the fuel filter.
  14. Got the struts today. Are these right for true Outback struts? I ordered for a '97 Outback. Rears are 29" long and Fronts are 25" long (Total) Forester Springs: Lost...
  15. I HAVE been PM'd, maybe with the 4eat EJ22 it'll only take 3hrs.
  16. When is the next Don Miller? Next year? Anyhoo, we do meets out in Waukesha and Milwaukee pretty much any weekend. Theres a thread on Dirtyimpreza.com in which we all keep in touch and see whats going on and when. Maybe something you'd be interested in checking out? Pictures I snapped of your car:
  17. Cool, glad you found USMB I should have brought my '95 with 208,000 on it. At least there would have been two Legacy wagons.
  18. Don't forget about the 14.5" wheel and the 504 with the strange center - tire shops can't balance it unless they have a special fitting.
  19. I'm sure if you search for Subaru DL wagons on Google long enough, it will bring up a few pics of your car.
  20. Are you the guy that was at Don Miller's subaru meet? Subaru Heaven is on Hy18 and hy 12 out in Cambridge, WI. About 20 miles from madison. Easy enough to get to, and he might have some things for the 2nd gen Legos. Power entenna, eh doubt it as there weren't alot of Legacys with the power entenna (At least in WI)
  21. Subaru and Peugeot wheels are 4x140. You can always drill out some old GM 6 lugs to fit the 4x140 too You can check out the wheels page link in the above toll bar "Subarus Of The 80s" and it'll show you all the wheels which are 4x140. Noticed your in Madison too, you should really bring the Brat down to Waukesha or Milwaukee sometime as we all have meets. Desmond Jones has an '86 Brat with an EJ22 swap in it. -Tom
  22. Lol nice. Wow its right down to the same rust spots too! :-p You think the guy could take a pic of his own car, and $1,200 please
  23. But its fun when the Cops look at you all the time, Haven't gotten pulled over yet I read this wrong the first time Lol! But really, I know Ben. I'm not offended or anything.
  24. Thanks guys, but really - how's a Red lifted EA82 with roof rack and big tires incognito? Lol. Well if you need help with stuff, I'll make the trip up there, Marshfeild isn't to far of a drive.
