  1. I washed mine today too, Ooo the shine of that Ruby Peal mica My door locks are frozen, but its worth it.
  2. Ben, thats true. I just kinda don't want to mess with it till its warmer - but I guess its better to do it ASAP then wait till it totaly fails unexpectedly. So I am gonna see if it gets worse this week (And most likely do it saturday) I might just drive the '99 Blazer this week to be safe (We'll see how it is tomorrow when I go to Wilde Subaru) I'm thinking it should be pretty straight forward once I get the covers off (Some of the screws are spinning due to those metal inserts, didn't do that when I did the oil pump and belts back in '08) Anyone have any good ideas how to quickly remove the covers when those metal inserts spin in there holes? I'm gonna zip tie them on after this. Your running open head on one side!! Sounds like me when my down pipe broke off the cat (Open header boy!!) Sounded tuff. Hope you don't burn a valve though. You have bad bearings too right? I hate how things build up so quickly sometimes (Like rust) Good luck on the rig Ben, I wish you my best. -Tom
  3. The leak is some drips on the timing cover which makes a small damp puddle under the car. I only suck about 1/2" of coolant from the holding tank in a few days. So its not leaking much and the play is very very little (Like what you would have in a New Idler pully, that little bit of movment) So you think I would be able to drive it till wamrer weather? Anyone think so? I just do want it to just go and then I need to flatbed it home. Whats everyone thoughs on the waterpump? Well I'm gonna go order one and new gaskets/oring tomorrow from the dealer and I might be able to get it by weds - so I'll see if the leak gets any worse this week. It has gotten worse in the past few weeks (Never used to see any drips on the ground, I only smelled it once in a while) -Tom
  4. Yea I'm gonna bundel up pretty good, Hat, Gloves, Coat, Thicker T-shirt and Jeans (As always) Once the heater starts taking effect it'll be pretty cozy in there. Just hate my hands, you can't do much with gloves and its like argg! -Tom
  5. Righty ho, thanks Tom. Yea my dad said there shouldn't be any play AT ALL too. Kinda sucks having to do it this week since its only going to be 17 out. I have to pull the car all the way in and hope I have enough room and use a heater I hate fixing things in winter!!! oh well lol -Tom
  6. Waterpump is leaking a little - so I'll have to replace it next weekend (Hope it makes it) Is there supposed to be any normal play in the Waterpump/cooling fan shaft? Cause mine has a very small amount of up/down play (Is that normal or is the pump going?) Either way I need to replace it. Wish me luck! -Tom
  7. Oh thats what I must see, Yea I figured it had to be an antena for some gadget (Whats a Subaru without them? Lol) -Tom Happy New year everyone! I made it to see 2010 (Now wheres 2525?) Haha
  8. I know its a Hilux, but both of those rigs reminded me of those 4Runners in Alaska and the Artic. -Tom
  9. Very true, I don't really care how people type nor spell. I can mostly read everything (Unless your really rediculus with your spelling) -Tom
  10. Good luck with that My batt is 650CCA (Cold Crank Amps) get the highest CCAs you can (It'll save you in winter time) Hey, is there something on the driver-side fender? Looks to be in those pics. -Tom
  11. Is that EA81 wagon still running the Transaxle or is there a solid axle under it? Would be cool if it was still all Subaru powered! I love those 4Runners they use to cross ice in the artic. -Tom
  12. I would stay away from the HID conversions (From what I have seen and heard, they don't really provide alot more light) I would just change the bulbs to a better brand (Higher wattage) I mean the best bulbs I have ran are - "Sylvana Cool Blue" and the "Luminics Titainium white 120/140w bulbs" As for the offroad lights vibrating, you can use a rubber gasket or grommet on the top side of the hood/bolt to give it some support during bumps (I did this to the lights on my rack) and yes, a small metal brace would help aswell (makes the mounting area larger and stiffens that area. Its all up to you -Tom
  13. That looks great! Just be rid of those white-wall tires and it would look even better And whats with this? Every car in this photo is a Subaru Lol -Tom
  14. Yes I was kidding Hehehe. C'mon, this subject was brought up, I might aswell mess with it I speaks goodz, danno y evary wants to talk badly? And if you understand anything I just typed, your should be banned -Tom
  15. About the stock lights not being bright, what I found is, if you adjust both of them up about 1/2" to 1" or so, and out just a little they shoot out farther and wider (I did this to mine, very happy now) I'm also running 120/140w 5,500k Luminics Titainium white bulbs (9004) great bulbs (Very bright a project and eluminate awesome!) Just some insight incase you wanted some :-p -Tom
  16. Justin, I have those same Baja Fox lights too. Mine are in front of the grille. How do they work on the hood? I'd like to put two round ones (4") one by each mirror (Rally safari style!) Looks good man.
  17. Yep, its like a chopped Outback lol. I don't see many around here either.
  18. Haha, so we're even. You havn't seen to many EA81 sedans, and I havn't seen any T-wagons. Did you guys get the Subaru Baja over there?
  19. WOW this is the first I've seen or heard of EA81 Touring wagons.. I had no clue Subaru made a EA81 T-wagon - very cool!! More pics of those please! -Tom
  20. City lights? Day time running lights? How? -Tom
  21. "Need For Speed" ? Well if you consider 75mph "Speed" then I guess Lol! I like how the XT6 wheels look on it too, they also look good on 1st gen Legos. -Tom
  22. Are you gonna use a basket, or just the crossbars? Most of us go with a gutter mount (As its stronger then the mounting slats on the roof) Just get some cross bars and then get some raingutter feet for them and bolt it on Hope this helps and merry christmas, -Tom
  23. I second that, somethings grounding out somewhere. Interesting, I wanna know the answer. Good luck Jeff. -Tom
  24. Sure its blowby? or is it a bad PCV? What color is the smoke (White or Blue) when does it happen (Top of or bottom of what gear?) Glad she doesn't overheat anymore -Tom
