  1. Rick, ok even if it is a waste of time and a few bucks just to see what happens to a TBI or Carbed engine when you apply a 1-2" spacer to that engine. Maybe you will notice a small gain, you will never really know unless you give it a try. a block of steel or Aliminum is what, $20-$35 and then just some time to drill the bolt holes and make a what 1-1/2" or 2" round hole in the center. Now would you need to ad a gasket to the bottom of the spacer/intake and then a gasket on top of the spacer/TB? The other thing is, with an extra 1 or 2" the hood won't close - 1" maybe, but not 2" -Tom
  2. Most likely 1988 GL. Yea that mechanic doesn't know a hammer from a tool box. I wouldn't trust him nor go back to him, apparently he knows nothing about Subarus (This would be the same mechanic that would put both cams in the same direction) then rip your disty out and install a new one cause it doesn't fire right or atall - And then wouldn't know how to set the ign timing. -Tom
  3. Try uploading your pictures to Photobucket.com and then copy/paste the image code here. -Tom
  4. LOL! It was such a nice story untill the ending, well that part is true though haha.
  5. I just used a self mixing epoxy, applied it to the back of the molding and/or clip if you still have one, works great - still holding and i hit some hard bumps and jarring alot. Just make sure you don't put to much as it will ooz out onto the body, but if you wipe it off quick there will be no damage. -Tom OR! Just do it Red Green style and use Duct tape :-p
  6. Do we need to go over this again? Most of Fram filters use cardboard end caps, which at times break down and enter the oil system clogging bypass holes, lifters, oil passages ect.. Causing internal engine failure. Theres alot of threads on this, do a search sometime -Tom
  7. GD is a good guy, he's given me loads of infomation and knowledge over the years. That is a nice looking machine, oh no! I spotted a Fram, please tell me you now use Wix or Genuine? -Tom

  11. No not really, Ball pops out, gets jammed up in the race, bends/cracks race, race gets jammed, wheel locks up or puts a major drag on it. Seen that twice so far!
  12. I suppose that would be true, a ball falls out of the race you are gonna here it Lol! -Tom
  13. Front Wheel bearings arn't bad, I think theres a write up on here somewhere on the USMR. DOJ - Dubble Offset Joint. The inner cut on the axle (Closest to the tranny)
  14. GD, from what I know and what Miles has said numeras times is that you won't hear a bearing on the older soobs. A Roller bearing (like a '99 Blazer) you would hear.
  15. Push front a rearward on the wheel and see if you have any play. The wheel bearings on these vehicles are not Roller bearings so I dout what you are hearing is a bearing. You will most likely not hear a worn wheel bearing on these cars. Do you have any play in the axle shaft? Could be a worn DOJ, do you feel anything or just hear it? -Tom
  16. Dirk, thank you for the history and update on knowledge. I didn't know Iceland had a President, it has to be alot better then our President (I'm not here to start a political fight, but thats the truth so far) I think this thread should be changed to "Interesting facts about Iceland" and still post Subaru pics and also talk about the country -Tom
  17. But a Brushless motor would beat a nitro powerd car any time of the day. Nitro is just for noise. -Tom
  18. I would think that Iceland would have simular Subaru specs and Aftermarket availability as the EDM vehicles as Iceland/Greenland are part or Europe, Correct? Or it it owned by the U.K goverment like AU and NZ? -Tom
  19. I have 108,000 flat on my '92 EA82 Wagon -Tom
  20. Scott, its a 1/10 scale Tamiya Brat. I just added some diffrent/bigger tires and wheels. Markus, Zip-ties FTW!
  21. Sorry Bill, but its time for me to unload Tamiya Brat w/ new Traxxas wheels and cheepie tires: Up and over! That felt good -Tom
