Window Seal/Rubbers (EA82)
Bill, oh ok. I didn't know any Subaru had this. But then again it would be needed as not every Subaru was 100% the same, so things would have needed to be adjusted while on the assembly line. Cool maybe I'll be able to adjust them -Tom

Window Seal/Rubbers (EA82)
PS: all Subarus starting from the late 70s till 2008 all had frameless windows, untill the 2008 Impreza came out with the frame windows, and now Subaru has started making all there models with framed window glass (Like most any other vehicle) -Tom

Window Seal/Rubbers (EA82)
Hey Bob, Yea the windows are frameless (Presses against the rubber to seal it) The window it self is sold (Doesn't wiggle around) But it just seems that it could press harder against the rubbers to seal it better. The rubbers are in pretty go shape, but I think they might be loosing there sponge(ieness) from the years of being pressed against the glass. Rubbers will still become old and crank if no one ever treats them, you figure it gets -20 here in winter and we do get hot summers (100+ deg. F) Most of the window rubber is coverd by the window when closed, but the little big that is expossed to the eliments has started cracking and became ruff (Was like that) The other reason I've been using some rubber/plastic treatment on them it so it soaks in plumping them up for a little while (Kinda like spraying WD-40 or SeaFoam onto a bushing rubber to plump it up to take away any slack in it from age) -Tom

Did some work, same problems.
Ben, throw it out, its a crappy Subaru, complete junk! Worst car brand ever made! Ok, enough dicking around. I would check and clean any connections and plugs that you see (I did this to mine a few weeks ago and it seems to run better) If you have anything corroded you can use some "Emmery cloth" to clean them then apply some of that connection jelly to ensure its getting good contact. Also, how is the cat and resenator on your car? Is there a change either of them might be plugged up (Due to rattling cat) causing to much back-pressure? Have you ever cleaned out the hoses and T-connectors that run from one Head to the other? These can get a build up of crud in them aswell. I don't know much more there is to clean in your engine. Only other thing I can think of is you bought some defective parts (Cap, rotor) My thoughs -Tom

Window Seal/Rubbers (EA82)
So, Mine are starting to go - I'm getting some moister between the glass and the rubber where it meets while the door is closed plus I do get a little water inside if I use water @ pressure (Hose, car wash ect.) Does anyone have a clue what new rubbers will cost? Is it a Genuine only part? (Assuming it is) I've been using some treatment on them to keep them soft and from cracking since I bought the car in '06. they are still soft and nice but seem like they could press against the glass harder. Thanks for any knowledge on this, -Tom

So my car started acting/idling goofy yesterday...
Yes thats it, its right on the same housing your t-stat is. As for the "tick" relay thought, well the Defrost nor the heating system has a relay that opens and closes - at least not that you'll hear. So its gonna be one of those noises you'll never figure out :-p If your idleing to low, bring the idle up. on the left side of the throttle body (Facing it) there is a standard head screw, adjust it in or out to change the idle RPM. Autos should idle when hot about 750 - 900RPM when it park. In drive it should go down to 550 - 650RPM. -Tom

I also installed new headlight bulbs: 9004 Luminics Titanium White 120/140w 5,500K - these are extream white with a hint of silver, they shoot out and eluminate the area pretty damn good. -Tom

I POR-15 up the rear crash compartment (Tool box) yesterday. I found a soft spot that went all the way thru, so after fixing that with fiberglass sheets and resen I coated the whole box with POR-15 (Nothing is gonna come thru, EVER) -Tom

1990 Subaru GL Turbo 2WD ? Exists?
Yes, I've seen many - many pictures of EA82 Leones. Just search for Subaru Leone on google and you'll see them, some of the Leone's were FT4WD

1990 Subaru GL Turbo 2WD ? Exists?
The Leone's were mainly in Japan, the GL was more popular in AUS (aka L-series) and from what I've seen they were still made till '94 along with the Brumbys. But I guess the likelyhood of anyone importing one to the U.S would be rare when you can just get a Loyale or a late 80s GL here. It would help if the owner would give you a picture since he seems unsure. -Tom

1990 Subaru GL Turbo 2WD ? Exists?
What are the odds the owner bought a imported GL from Australia or the U.K that another owner imported? Since both countrys used the "GL" name till '94 (The last of the EA82s) And yes, even a GL imported could have left hand drive (I've seen a few GLs on the Aussie board that were still LHD) So this could be a possability aswell. -Tom

So my car started acting/idling goofy yesterday...
Hmm, I know what you mean. I have something kinda simular with mine. Most of the time if you are leaving a parking lot then need to get out onto the road and give it the gas - it seems bog in a way for a sec or two then the power is there. Also sometimes if you punch it from a dead stop it feels as if not all the power is there untill 2000 or more. I don't understand it lol. The only thing I havn't cleaned is the IAC. SO I dunno ? Good luck with the T-belts (Its easy enough) -Tom
