  1. Now now children - no pointing fingers as each other. -Tom
  2. Haha lazyness The wider wheels will complete the look plus will of course give you a bit more stable cornering ability (No much, but some) the other thing is those struts (Kinda soft fo real track use) unless you changed the shocks to gas charged KYBs? Dunno how your gonna drop it for better handeling, unless you swap everything to Impreza componets. Hope to see more and hear some more plans ! -Tom
  3. Now your cooking! Looks good, what type of wheels are you gonna go with and how big of a O.D? Brain, the thing with adding the xmember block is, the steering rod tha gos to the steering box needs to be extended - So thats why I didn't used the xmember blocks. It would be nice to do that though, to keep the axle angle more stock so theres not alot of stress on them. Ben, yes theres not alot of room in the tower to get a block up in there and bolted to the strut top, so just unbolting the strut from the tower isn't enough (Control arm needs to go some way, shape, or form.) -Tom
  4. You still need to remove the DOJ side of the axle from the tranny spline because the axle will only go down so far before the axle shft hits the crossmember where the pivet point of the control arm gos. This was 1 of the issues I had when I did the lift. So after you follow these steps that Brain posted also remove the DOJ so you will have all the room and movabilty you need to get that block ontop of the strut and bolted down. -Tom
  5. I like the cleaness of it now - without the body kit peices and without a lip or wing on the trunk. Looks good! -Tom
  6. The new hatch looks great, Wonder why you and Bill had the same color and they both fit the same! WTH is with that? -Tom
  7. Yes, very ture. in s ome countrys the 1600 EA71 was standard in the EA82 style cars. So yep it was continued into the late 80s - but its still 70s technology carried on to a later date (Just like the EA82s, carried on till '94) -Tom
  8. LAMO What! That just struck me as funny. I dunno exact MPG, but I'm guessing 20 city 25 or so highway. I can drive 80miles on highway speeds and only suck about 1/4 tank. '92 EA82 SPFI 3AT 26" tires and 14" steelies I also don't baby it alot, most time shifts above 3000 in around town, runs at 3500 doing 55-60mph. -Tom
  9. Really this question should be asked in the "50s - 70s gen forum" this forum is really for anything EA81 to anything pre-EJ. Best of luck on finding your answer -Tom
  10. A few pics from this last week on things I've done. Restored and repainted the bracket and all the screws for it. Same with the bracket for the fuel filter POR-15'ed the rear tool box area Installed high watt headlights: Luminics Titanium White 120/140w 5,500k Removed all the A/C lines and thae A/C Condenser, only thing left is the A/C pump. Popped on my fender moldings I pulled at "Subaru Heaven" I think thats about it, and heres a video of it Click me! -Tom
  11. Hey thats a good idea, I totaly forgot about that switch (Never use it) -Tom
  12. That'll be cool, hope you can figure out the wiring (Hay stack) Check to see if your getting good ground for the horn - as the horn relies on ground in order to sound. But my guess is the horns then selfs are rusted closed. Good luck!
  13. The Valves and ports may have change aswell. -Tom
  14. Wow amazing view! I so want to visit Australia and New Zealand - aswell as Wellington. Thank god you knew who I was talking about haha, yes it is a great movie. I like when he blew every one away - and he didn't even get it out of 2nd gear yet lol. -Tom
  15. Aaa, thanks for the insight! NZ is an awesome place. Little history: There was a great man from New Zealand by the name of Burt Monroe. He came to the U.S in the late 50s to take his 1920s Indian motorbike on the Saltflats to push the bike to the limit and set a record - which still stands till this day for that class of vehicle and cc. -Tom
  16. In one of those mystical far away places with RHD I second that - very nice! -Tom
  17. I like the thought of keyless entry! Do the lights flash when you push the button? I don't like Remote Start, Seen it fail 1 to many times (Even O.E equipped systems) Selenoid sticks on grinding the hell out of your flywheel, something interferes with a signal and your car sits in the parking lot for hours idleing. But I do like keyless and a door intrusion alarm! -Tom
  18. Jeff, okaydokay - I just like how they look. Funny thing is, I've only been to HF once. The one we have is kinda in a crap area (Ghettoish) But my mom works down there and drives an FJ, so it can't be all that bad (Depending on time of day) Steawd, awesome shots! I'd love to see a view like that in person! Scott, +1 that rig has served you well! Plus it looks down right cool. -Tom
  19. Replaced the top gasket on the Throttle body yesterday - might do the lower gasket another day (Since I have the entire gasket kit for the Throttle body) -Tom
  20. Yea looks mint... No wheeling that rig Jeff, what are those two lights on top of ur rig? Where did you pick them up at? Are they just a tractor light? -Tom
  21. So, who drove that clean silver EA81 wagon? I didn't see it anymore other then at Dennys.
  22. True, from the pics I've seen. Looks really mucky, I like the garbage bag raincoat Haha.
  23. I'm really astounded that Bill hasn't posted more pics of the Beast (Picture whore) LOL. -Tom
