What this small aluminium thing?
We pulled one of these out of an MPFI EA82 - but the car was 5 speed 2WD. I would be leaning toward something more to do with Fuel Injection.

A Subaru Isuzu?? Slight 56K Warning
Well the fellow was good enough to send the scans through to me. There appears to be sod all difference between normal Subaru EA82s and this Isuzu one - It appears to be a 1600cc (EA71?) motor and dual range - with some badge differences on the back, on the side strips, and on the steering wheel centre. The brochure is in Japanese - but if rllywgn or someone wishes to host it still, I can send them on. Is there a central place for brochures? I have some EA82 brochures - some US, some Japanese (in english) if there is any interest.

Speedo fix for oversized tires
I have seen GD's suggestion done before - but not in a Sube. This suggestion might have a slight advantage coz the odometer/trip meter will be correct as well. But again - I am very impressed with your effort.

Speedo fix for oversized tires
Your attention to detail is to be applauded - very well done indeed. Now, if anyone comes up with any brilliant ideas on the EA82...

Who's got friends in the UK? (Ebay Find)
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Subaru-mv-glf-l-series-justy-coupe-estate-saloon-Parts_W0QQitemZ4630711166QQcategoryZ10424QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I know there is an eBay section - but I thought a few people here might be very keen for this. New "old stock" from a delaer by the looks of it - for EA81, EA82, and Justy cars. Someone might be keen enough to want this stuff. Pity its all in the UK - unless you live there

87' GL-10 wagon-vacuum line location?
Thanks - appreciated

87' GL-10 wagon-vacuum line location?
A slight hijack if I may. Calebz - how do the solenoids hook to the vacuum canister? My canister has two connections - one going in (from inlet) and one going out (to vent controls im guessing). Do you use a t-piece on the "outbound" hose from the canister? I was under the impression that the solenoids took vacuum direct from the inlet manifold - but thats obviously not the case.

Info and pics of my Australian L-Series (EA82)
Yes the boss is an adaptor. You can get a boss kit from ebay. Eg. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MOMO-Steering-Wheel-Hub-Adapter-Subaru-Wagon-85-89_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33704QQitemZ8053333503QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V Just make sure you get an appropriate steering wheel for it. You should be able to find a cheapish one there in the States to your tastes once you have the adpator/boss.

Info and pics of my Australian L-Series (EA82)
Glove box light is a very hard thing to photograph but I did do it in this post recently. (Scroll down to my posts) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=55046&highlight=glovebox+light It sits near the upper latch and is switch activated. Works very well. As for Touring Wagon handles - I think you get them in the US. The DL ones are just plain hand grip ones Thought you might want to see pics of these things before you start placing orders The steering wheel boss is from a company called Saas here in Australia. I am unsure if they still exist. I know Momo make boss kits - and as does Autotecnica. The boss kit cost me about A$60 from memory. The steering wheel was only like A$80. I am after a JDM steering wheel now.

A Subaru Isuzu?? Slight 56K Warning
Success! Who should I harass to get them put on the board. I can host them for a while I guess.

Dual Range Legacy?
Just an example - Here's the current Australian Forester specs with the Dual range http://subaru.com.au/explore/forester/specifications.asp?body=Wagon&grade=X The low range is 1.196:1 - has been since the early Libertys (aka Legacy) in Australia. It is a popular notion to use the use the Low Gear out of L Series (EA82) in later boxes (thus giving a 1.592 low range)

A Subaru Isuzu?? Slight 56K Warning
http://cgi.ebay.com/ISUZU-GEMINETT-2-Feb-1991-JAPANESE-BROCHURE_W0QQitemZ6616670997QQcategoryZ35935QQcmdZViewItem Would have gotten that if I knew it was on there. I'd like to see if the interior is any different.

A Subaru Isuzu?? Slight 56K Warning
Pardon me if this has been found/discussed before. Glancing about the Japanese Subaru sites I came up with this little gem. The "Isuzu Geminett-II" apparently! In the 70s and 80s in Australia, we had the Holden (Isuzu) Gemini's but they were nothing like Subarus. Looks like all they did was change name badges and emblems - thats it.

Well, Time to fix this thing.
The rotor turns from the left side cam belt. If the right belt is broken, the rotor will still turn.

PROVE SUBIEJIM WRONG!!! RX discussion!
That is one reason why there is a difference between the boxes. Here's a webpage I found quickly http://www.4x4abc.com/4WD101/difference_4WD_awd.html Yes it is being pedantic of me to say there is major differences. In the end its all the same essentially - just a lack of "diff lock switch"
-
PROVE SUBIEJIM WRONG!!! RX discussion!
Well I'll just agree to disagree. I've read of differences listed between AWD and Full Time 4WD but it's hardly worth fighting over Would be very interested to see that Legacy - tis the only problem I have with Legacys (or Libertys as they call them here) - the lack of centre lock.
-
PROVE SUBIEJIM WRONG!!! RX discussion!
GD there is distinct physical differences between a Full Time 4WD Box and a Legacy AWD box. Having said that it is possible to put Legacy internals into an EA82 box. Where did you hear about a diff locked version of the Legacy? I have not seen or heard of one in Australia or NZ. We have always had the dual range version available in low ratio you mentioned.

Service Manual for 1800 L-serie
Javier I think this might be the manual you are after. Maybe your French is better than mine :-\ I think this is the whole set. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4627528225&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 Failing that I do have Sections 4 and 5 for the L Series.
