    Front axle

Is is possible to rebuild a front outer DOJ with any rear DOJ axle parts?
  2. That was my first thought. Might have to try this out sometime.
  3. Its some sort of PTO and I want one.
  4. Thats awsome. This is one build that I would like to do some day too. Cant wait to see the finished rig.
  5. Do the ej cars need a d/r if your only running 27's? Does anyone know the final drive of a non d/r ej vs 22:1 d/r? I was just wondering.
  6. IFS and IRS? Sorry if you already stated.
  7. New pics. Its turning into a Hondarootruggy/whatever I want. Tube is just staged for now. Ill start the real stuff this weekend.
  8. Fourteen thumbs up!!! I digg it.
  9. Builds like this are why I love this website. Are there any other pics of the tan subaru buggy? You better finish this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. It would but not enough to matter in your situation.
  11. I did it, took it slow and welded where the shock was welded together from factory and dowsed with water every time not to build up heat. It's not the safest thing to do. I would reccomend a clamp on the body of the shock to move the perch up, or a coil spacer of some sort. Good luck with the spring compressor. Where you want to weld is going to be thin i have a feeling.
  12. Just a short video of the Hondaroo.
  13. How much longer are the super b struts than the stock ea82 struts?
  14. I dont care what it is, air shock, coil over shock or a home made shock. Its a Macpherson strut by the design. Lower controll arm with a strut at the top which the spindle truns around for steering. I should safely support 12" of front travel with out have issues with axles. Ill take 12 over whatever stock is anyday.
  15. I finally found a pic of a long travel strut!!! The Hondaroo with one day support a set of these sticing out the hood.....Just have to figure out how to build them.
  16. Just a few pics. Alternator works!!!! When building the intermediate shaft between the ST1100 and Subaru trans I welded a pulley off a riding lawnmower gear box in place and i finally got the alternator set in place. I’m using a twist-lock type belt from mcmaster-carr (8 bucks a foot) to drive the alternator. It works great. Mac Gyver would be proud.
  17. Ill check the bushings. Thats a good start. The shifter is pretty loose. I know the clutch is disengaging.... Any chance its the internals of the transmission?
  18. So the 5 speed in the Hondaroo is now having issues and I dont know if its cause its mated to a ST1100 engine or cause I beat the snot out of it before the swap. To get into 1st I usually have to hit 2nd first then it slides right into 1st and for some reason attempting to shift into 5 now results in me needing to pull to the side of the road and start all over cause it wont go in any gear.. Are my syncros shot? Could too much hard shifting at my Bachelors party and previous hill climbs prior to the swap have caused this? Thanks Orion
  19. Well after more measuring I forgot i had that weird F350 bed that is only 60 inches at the t-gate.....but a 10' flat bed would work.....Or add a samurai to the fleet. I think right now the hondaroo is at 71" wide at the wheels, and the wagoneer wheels I have make it even wider. Thanks for the input guys, looks like i need to find a dirt cheap sami for the road trips towing the camper......maybe a EJ22 powered sami.
  20. What rims are you running and how wide are they on the car. Im trying to figure out how to fit the Hondaroo on the bed of my pickup and my wheels make it 4" too wide. I think some peeps on here are running yota wheels redrilled and they dont stick out a ton like mine dooooooo. Thanks for the help. Orion
  21. Thats what the hondaroo is rollin on, 255/85R16's. Same tire too, i like them.
  22. How much wider are the rear axles on this car compared to EA82 rear axles?
