  1. I got my buggy down to 1800lbs and that was with a decent amount of tube and other stuff. I bet you could get to 1200.
  2. Im gearing up for dropping the ST1100 engine under the hood of the Sedamn, actually this will start next friday.
  3. It will mate up to the subi trans, stock subaru low range is 23:1, this will give me 95:1
  4. The donor bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGJi9-qFI5U
  5. Im going to pick up that ST1100 for 650.00 and part the rest out. Im guessing 1 month and ill see how she does with the new engine and trans. Should be a 95:1 low range.
  6. Me too . I think its going to be a while before I can find this replacement motor. I need to sell this V65 and a popup camper before I can start hunting again. Which suks cause there is a ST1100 on CL for 850.00 which is a heck of a deal.
  7. OK......Ive got it. I cant bail on the motorcycle powered subaru yet. I have to find a right hand side shaft driven motor. That will turn the correct way. Wahoo, im back in the game. Goldwing, CB900, ST1100, etc.
  8. Even with the input shaft hacked 3/8 of an inch?
  9. I have a d/r tranny that i used to mock up my (falied) motorcycle engine conversion. I cut off the small extrusion that the pilot bearing rides on in the flywheel. So now i have a d/r tranny with no pilor bearing nipple. Its pretty much worthless right?
  10. Ask him what he thinks about the idea. I think I would be in way over my head. After some reading might be a little too much work.
  11. Well looks like im going to go with plan B. Mount stock motor in trunk. Hydraulically couple engine to trans. Im being serious. Who here are my resident Hydraulic experts?
  12. Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, Bad, news. THE OUTPUT OF THE V65 MOTORCYCLE ENGINE ROTATES THE WRONG WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SHOULD HAVE NOTICED THIS MONTHS AGO. AND OF COURSE I ALREADY PULLED THE SUBARU ENGINE, LOOKS LIKE ILL BE PUTTING IT BACK IN THE CAR. SO BUMMED:( SO VERY VERY BUMMED.
  13. Ive finally started the motor swap. Lastnight i took the output driveshaft and the clutch to a friends house with a lathe. Turned down a few parts and welding fixtures. As soon as i get the pics from him i will upload them. I also went to K&K and picked up a 1/4" plate to secure to the front of the subaru tranny to provide a good solid mount for supports. Notice the car sitting a little higher at the moment....Missing something.
  14. Actually if someone could measure the center of the front tires to the rear bumper, and/or the center of the front tires to the rear with the bumper "removed" from the overall measurement. Im trying to figure out if you could fit a hatch on a 9.5' flatbed truck parked backwards.
  15. How Long/Short is a EA-81 Hatch Back? Bumper to Bumper.
  16. Cool. Im pretty sure thats just Bird Shot, buck shot would have gone through that door. Thats just what ive heard:rolleyes:
  17. They measure right now 31.5x8. The actual size is the metric bs 265/85R16 maybe? . I extended the front radius rods by 1", the way Bill did his and helped a TON. I still need to cut more out of the rear. When the tire get tucked like in the pic above the car does not want to move at all.
  18. Cool. Depending on how my motorcycle powered sedan holds up(the cv axles) this would be the next step.
  19. New to me Shoes. I still need to bash and cut more steel.

  21. You will make your money back before it will finally break.
