  1. 1986 Sedan, D/R, 225/70R15 4" lift from Bill "The Beast I drive" (heavy duty lift kit, very good quality) 6-Lug conversion, wheels off a wagoneer Installing the lift kit wasent that bad. The worst part of it all was extending the steering shaft(steering is slightly off now, DANG) and it took 2 trys to extend the shift linkage correctly. Now it works fine. I was able to still use all the stock radiator hoses and heater core hoses. Future plans include: Long travel rear coil overs (delete current coil over lift brackets) 5" strut lift blocks(level up the car) Custom exhaust Paint Stuff a 1100cc VMAX motor under the hood and get rid of the EA-82(summer) Tube bumpers Cut fenders and anything else. Thats it for now. Then: Now:.jpg[/img]
  2. Stompers never had much fender clearance. Look good.
  3. I met this guy in the ace hardware parking lot. He was checking out my buggy at the time. We talked exchaned contact info and I hadent talked to him in a few months. I called him up and BAM he already built his buggy. Its made from an 1984 Wagon. I havent seen it in person yet.
  4. Interesting read: http://www.nebbs.com/legacy/suspension.htm
  5. What size tires are those? Is it lifted?
  6. Im calling BS on the whole thing. I dont think there was a subi stuck in the woods where an RZR couldnt get too/winch it out. No pics? Hmmm. May have just been looking for a hand out.
  7. Ide take tire chains.
  8. I sold the buggyroo to pay for a garage slab and driveway. It was street legal enough. I was 22 for 22 on passing cops and not getting pulled over. Most of they time they didnt even look twice. It was actually pretty darn fun in the sand. I think 27" tires in the sand aired down would have helped the playing in the sand. Most of those hills in the videos are very steep. Ive owned other vw sandrails and i would prefer a subaru buggy over a vw sandrail. The next project is this. 4" lift 27" tires and one day stuff a big v-twin under the hood. Slowly hack away body parts. Build a soft top for it. I need it to be warm again.
  9. I actually sold this last fall to a co-worker. Here are some pics and specs. 1986 Subaru Wagon, 29" SS TSL's. 2" lift. Custom stuff here and there. Faster than a Polaris RZR in a drage race. Weighted about 1700lbs. Here are some videos of the buggyroo in action. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=buggyroo
  10. Sure ill start a new thread. I lived in Waco for 2.5 years.
  11. The main reason for the motor swap is a better crawl ratio. First gear on the motorcycle engine for the trails, 3rd or 4th on the street? You get my drift. Im just researching engines right now. Goldwing engines are CHEAP.
  12. Well the goldwing is the largest footprint ive been looking at. Ide like a large liquid cooled v twin, shaft drive.
  13. I know there are pics on here but i cant seem to find them. Im trying to get a pic of a EA82 under the hood with no motor and a d/r tranny. Looking to see if i could stuff a Goldwing motor and trans under the hood, infront of the current d/r trans. thanks Orion
  14. I have a pair that are still on a good running motor. Im parting it out in the for sale section.
  15. Go to NAPA with the length extended and collapsed and how the shocks bolt to your car. They can look it up. Right at 80 bucks a pair.
  16. On the buggyroo I mounted it where the spare tire was. It was a PITA to fill but worked fine. I would reccomend trying to find a thicker radiator that was not a long and tall. Im also 99% sure the hood, if there was one would not have closed.
  17. Has anyone put a strut back in a subaru with out the spring? I would like to know how much travel is there with out the spring.
  18. how about a subaru powered by a 1200-1500cc motorcycle motor. You could use the motorcycle transmission with the subaru transmissino and get a lower gear ratio. You get my drift? What do you think?
  19. I ran rear overload air shocks on the buggy, they kicked rump roast, about 13" of travel. Im still stupmed on the front. I think the best bet for the front would be hydraulic slave cylinders mounted in there like an air strut. Thats my .02.

    Im torn.

I called, it sounds like its been well used/abused. I think im going to end up passing on the deal. Damn it would have been fun, i know a year ago i would have been all over it. 3 cars an atv and camper might be my limit.
  21. What size tires on the sedan, it looks like it was hurtin for power. Are those 27"'s on the maroon wagon?
