  1. I came out to my '81 wagon one morning to find a card with "like your style" written on it jammed in my driver window. Unfortunately I washed my wallet one day and the ink washed out of the card. (Pictures of the car are in my photo album.)
  2. How are you planning on keeping water out of the carb with the filter sticking through the hood like that?
  3. I'm trying. I'll send you an email about it later. Understatement, but it'd be quite the show to watch you try. :-p :-\
  4. I really don't want my car eating up all the time while Connie is around either. (One of the reasons I was being a "stubborn poopiehead." ) I'm more than happy to bring it by beforehand. This week obviously won't work because of my Texas trip, but next Thursday (27th) I'm up for it. I sent you a PM regarding it as well...
  5. You mean I'll get to drive it around a corner and not fear for my life? lol It gets worse.
  6. Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. It's the only car I've driven that scares me more than my '81. :-p And now Rob can vouch for me being mental. :-\
  7. I need to get up there and steal the entire interior from the red one.
  8. You can't see very well in the photo because the main focus of it (the BRAT) is in the way, but the Legacy in the back is filled all the way up including the front passenger seat with that computer stuff. That's a fairly loose load too. When you get all identical towers you can really pack in quite the number of machines. All of our Subarus have made countless runs of that stuff. On a side note: KITTY!! Not impressive, but certainly my favorite. A futon mattress making my heater-less, AC-less, cruise control-less, power anything-less '81 the best for long trips. :-p
  9. The only things on that car that jumped out at me as being old were the faded door handles and the bumpers/trim running down the side of the car looking a bit wonky in places. I also have to say it's a bit of a shame. That car could be just as reliable of a runner with 8 times the miles on it.
  10. My '95 Legacy has 225k now on original everything except the front left strut that was bent when it was t-boned. I swear the thing runs like it was new.
  11. That looks like it is just the grill form a cyclops car. Either that or he replaced the whole cyclops assembly with a normal car's vertical support.
  12. I can't tell you what the bushings are, but I can tell you this: "Seller will not ship internationally." Edit: I totally did not see page 26 when I posted this...
  13. Um, if I'm going to do this I'm going to need a different car to tear apart. Geiko evidently totaled the car because of a bent strut, damaged fender and door and 224k miles. I'm driving this sucker.
  14. Well, I guess none of this matters now. I finally got the car from Geiko and it isn't even remotely totaled. There is no way I can bring myself to steal the engine out of it. All it needs is a new driver side strut since the current one is bent and giving me some awesome negative camber.
  15. My goodness those look really good in gold and silver.
  16. Woohoo! Glad to hear you're getting into the car you want. I was sorry to hear you say it wasn't going to happen, but that bit of disappointment makes it seem all the more exciting now.
  17. The only problem I have with the current photochop is the black around the front lenses. I think that it would work better if it could be repeated on back, but it can't. Other than that, I was hoping this thread was years old when I stumbled across it because I can't wait to see how it looks when you're done! Looks like it landed in some very good hands.
  18. First off, I don't care about the light thing. How could I? I drive an '81 wagon that doesn't even have lights cool enough to turn off with the switch. I like the new system more anyway since I've had a friend drain his battery because he didn't know about the running lights switch and couldn't find anybody who could fill him in about it. The window frames are a shame, but not the end of a car. We may have thought them to be a Subaru thing, but I guess Subaru didn't. Oh well, too late for these Imprezas unless you want to cut them off and weld them to the car instead. Hmmm... :-p Sedan vs. Hatch? I actually like that hatch more. Recently the rally world has been making the move to them since they are better for that kind of thing. I like the idea of having something designed to being more of a rally car. That all being said though, I'm not a big fan of the Impreza or WRX. I LOVE the STI though. It fixes most of the design flaws I found in the Impreza and WRX (Tail lights still suck. I saw them in red, and they are incredible like that.), and it is a beast (Very important. ). I hope I don't sound like I don't care about the little things, or people actually caring about them. I do. In fact, I'm jaded by them changing from STi to STI and using red for the STI badges rather than pink. I just wanted to let you know my opinion. Oh, and by the way, I think the EVO X looks like a pig personally. It has a snout. Not appealing.
