  1. What "this" are you talking about? If its a 4.11 or 4.44 gear swap I am just waiting for some free time to break into it. (my new job has got me tied up more than i thought) I have free roam to a great machine shop, so once i get the 3.9 pinion shaft out and can compare it to the 4.11 to know what needs to be milled/grafted ( I honestly haven't seen the two side by side or even a 4.44 so i don't what the differences are)but once i do, I should be rocking and rolling. As far as a d/r rebuild I might as well rebuild everything while the d/r is apart. I haven't called CCR but I will do so tomorrow and see if they have a package they can sell me. If you have any info on where to rebuild these old things that info would be wonderful! The d/r ej "this" is dead, unless a something wonderfull happens and i find a used one with free shipping. Off topic, I will be in spokane the weekend of the 24th, and Barracuda (*sp) be up from something?
  2. Really..... hmmm I will try that, the trans I am currently running I seemed to solve the problem by putting the same gear oil that i use in the rear end of my old jeep (90 - 140 or something like that) Its really thick and doesn't like to shift cold. It made the grinding go away and I haven't seen any adverse effects yet (32,000 miles and counting) but like i said, it doesn't want to shift when its cold, and will not shift fast no matter how hard you pull. I will try your solution out this weekend and see what happens.
  3. I am assuming that Mudrat79 was just going through the dealers to get the needed parts. A1 here in Bellingham told me that that is what they have done in the past, but to do the whole thing will cost twice what the car is worth. I have looked into the junkyard trannys but I must have the worst luck becuase it seem like the two i have tried have the same third gear griding when shifting into problem .
  4. Are the 2.2L heads and the 2.5L heads (single cam) interchangeable? AKA, can you use performance 2.5 cams in a 2.2L?
  5. What options are out there for rebuilding a 5 speed d/r? Do I just have to rip into it and then get part by part from a dealer? I have contacted my local transmission shops and they all say the same thing, "we don't have a supplier for a kit so no, we can't" Anybody have any suggestions?
  6. Hey Scott, I will be back in the area after may 7th for a couple five years. I will go wheel'n with ya whenever you want (finally got the wagon lifted). I got some pretty good places to go so long as my gate keys/combo's still work. Where have you found in Whatcom/Skagit area, hopefully I can add to your list.
  7. A Thank you goes to Shady and the rest of the Crew at Allied Armament, You guys have had awesome service, timely turn around, and great products! Hope you guys keep expanding the line of Subaru accessories even though it's not the biggest money maker.
  8. This might be already posted and I missed it, when would these be ready for sale, is it still a couple months out? Also, does afr stand for air/fuel ratio? If so, is it going to be a wide band or narrow band O2 I am assuming? Something I have added to my analog gauges is an activation of an LED when it reaches a spot in its sweep. Can this be easily done with this application instead of a buzzer or along with a buzzer? Not meaning to complain or criticize, just curious.

Anyone ever thought about organizing a set channel for USMB members to tune to? I know other groups have a set channel they talk on and it make it nice for meeting up, especially where members are more clustered.
  10. Well considering what the options are, your price seems pretty good, and I like the fact that it has a display, so you dont need a laptop to read it. Have you looked into what costs would be to add a data record function?
  11. I would also be verry intersted if it could easily adapted to a V8's needs (aka exhaust temp x 8, etc)
  12. Hey Tex what's a CD? If i remeber right pioneer has one power line (red???) for its lights and a main power (yellow???) that powers everything else? you getting good 12V to all the power imputs? I might be butt rump roast wrong becuase its been awhile since i have worked on a pioneer. Sorry if i am
  13. I have the same problem and went through the same process. I found 90 - 140 gear oil fixed that problem although shifting when it's cold is a little tougher. I have had it that way for about 30,000 miles and no negitive affects yet. (knock on wood)
  14. With more people completing the EA to EJ conversion, I was wondering if anyone has found any reliability problems yet. I have close to 25,000 miles on my conversion and haven't had any problems that I can pin on doing the swap. So, anyone out there with issues from the conversion?
  15. That looks really solid!!! where'd you hide the rest of the deck.... nevermind, should have looked closer
  16. Meridan Perfomance out on the guide towards Lynden, also if you know where Special T is at, just south from them there is a good guy, Sutton Carburator I believe is the name of the shop. I haven't gone to either place for subaru tuning but they do V8's pretty good. MP is probably relying mostly on their dyno now for tuning now but the other company, still does it the old fashion way. Hope this helps. If not send me a PM and I can get you a list of a couple mechanics that might be interested.
  17. Thank you to both of you! I pm'd Baccaruda and told him the situation. A co-worker finally came through with a lead of a space... hopefully. If that falls through I might look to one of you., if eith Alsoer of you need help sometime I have a full tool box (just no big tools) and a pair of willing hands to help. Thank you once again for possibly opening your extra space for me. Oh, and do you have a red Brat with a with canopy? If so, I think I saw you going up the south hill a week ago or so.
  18. Are there any Spokane guys that have the tools and space and are willing to let a complete stranger either pull their motor or drop the transmission in their garage/paved flat area. I have all minor tools needed just no Jacks, stands, or space. It "should" be just a day long exercise. If you are willing to help please PM me! Thank you. Kenny
  19. Has anyone made/added an intermittent circuit to their rear wiper so it's only going once or twice a minute instead of always on? I couldn't figure out how to add this into the sub's system without adding another switch. Has anyone done this and were able to do it without adding another switch?
  20. Well whatever sensor they use to send a signal to the speedo It is a 91 Loyale and had spfi, I would have to look back again to see if the Old ECU needed a speed sensor or not.
  21. The OBDII appears to read correctly the old EA speed sensor. I haven't done an EJ swap with an older EJ but did one with a 97 and the wiring was very easy and straight forword. Have people run into problems when trying to swap the Newer EJ's?
  22. Do people have any complaints about the AA lifts? For those who have them do they... 1) Actually require change to the Radiator hoses? Or do stock hoses work? 2) Do you need to go get an alignment after the install? 3) Are you happy with the lift or do you wish you would have stayed stock? Did most of you go with the High lift version or the moderate lifted version? Thank you to those of you who take/have the time to respond!
  23. Thanks Tex, I will call ya and get his number. I have ventured through spalding a couple of times becasue i work just right up the road. The other one i haven't heard of so i will have to go check it out. Thanks once again!
  24. For the EA82 wagons, where do people get those rear spoilers for diverting the air so it blows across your rear window? What are those called, a rear dust fin?
  25. Spokane guys: How are the junk yards in the Spokane area? Have they been pretty picked through? Any that one would recommend? Looking for new and old subaru parts.
