  1. wow! looks good. Have you gotten a chance to wire it in yet and see how it works with the modifications made to the body and grille? Keep up the nice work man!
  2. all you need are the struts assemblies and rear coilover assemblies from a parts car or junkyard. Its pretty easy to swap the stuff in, just go pull it and swap! Should run you pretty cheap.
  3. Who here is running an aftermarket ignition setup like an MSD 6AL or 6A? I'm going to upgrade to this here soon, along with bigger injectors, FPR, and a few other odds-n-ends. So what are you running and how is it working for you?
  4. so with some help from kingbobdole, we're might have figured it out. TPS seems to be the problem since we looked at the 3-wire TPS diagrams vs. the 4-wire TPS diagrams. So tomorrow, I'm going to take the 3-wire TPS and put it onto the spyder intake, modify the harness where it needs to be modded and see what becomes of it. I hope it works...
  5. yeah I know the feeling. Mine finally works pretty good and I don't really want to mes with it too much but I gotta cause she's still not running right. Oh well:rolleyes: My new exhaust should be here before too long. Got it off of a board member on NASIOC:banana:
  6. sweet man! Another RX owner with it running. Welcome to the club:banana:
  7. yeah they will Tom, actually you can also use EA81 axles in the gen 1's but not the other way around. I had EA81 axles in my '79 wagon and they worked great!
  8. Paul, just shot ya a PM about it. Let me know and I can make it happen.
  9. I got my BOV vented to the atmosphere and there seems to be no issue with it. Granted, I think I got a TPS problem but that causes hesitation before boost. I even still have the turbo flutter in the intake as well which i love. Ok now that it seems like I hijacked the thread a bit, when are we gonna see some of under the car as well? Maybe a couple of that new y-pipe:D
  10. I'll be there! When I can get the time off of work:rolleyes:
  11. my only problem is that the FSM I have is for just the intake, I don't have one specific to my car. I can get the voltages that the X uses but not for my RX which is unfortunate for me. Oh well, I guess its time to start digging through the XT FSM and see what I can come up with for it.
  12. so then what should I do about the TPS? Is there a specific model I should get one off of cause I don't know if the one from my stock manifold will work. Thanks for the help guys, keep it comin!
  13. nope, the only Soobies with rear wipers were most of the wagons (all EA82 wagons) and the EA82 coupes
  14. I'm using the TPS that came on the spyder intake I got. Its a '88 XT N/A intake. Whats funny though is it doesn't really seem like a TPS problem since it runs ok but when cold, doesn't like to idle (lack of AAV) but when it gets warm, it has it hesitation problem a lot worse.
  15. yeah I've been thinking about the Nissan injectors. I'll be awhile until I have money to get them since I'm in the process of buying that EA82T from Tex, a set of rims and tires from a guy here in Laramie, and a catback as well... I'll pull the codes here shortly from it but I know that I'm going to have the EGR code since I don't have one:D
  16. yup, got an 02 sensor in there as well. Since its in a stock WRX location (down udnerneath the car) compared to the stock EA82T location (right next to the turbo) it should still work right?
  17. Basically any RPM under 3500 or so. After that, she seems to come to life and rev to all heck and back. I love my turbo spool sound! Mods done to the engine... STOCK EA82T longblock '88 XT NA spyder intake with reclocked TB WRX TMIC TD04 turbo stock EA82T uppipe Megan Racing downpipe custom AEM CAI with the stock MAF
  18. My RX has some hesitation issues one she gets warmed up. Granted, my PCV system isn't hooked up and a few other little things like the AAV but still. Once she gets warm, she hesitates realy badly unless I ease into the throttle a little at a time or else the turbo starts boosting and she hesitates. What should I look for or what could it be?
  19. I was doing 115 in a '86 GL-10 turbosedan on the freeway one day. I've also done 105 in a '87 GL turbowagon with the 5-lug conversion. My RX will be able to go up to that easily though, especially when I get back down to sea level!
  20. I think its time to make a road trip and save that poor RX. I'm up to it! I know soobscript would love to have it!
  21. The reason I went the way I did (Impreza front suspension/brakes/axles) was because of the upgradable parts I can get for it. Granted I had to convert to a rear ebrake but that was no issue for me, I was just looking for bigger/better parts that wouldn't break when I started showing them abuse. Also, with the Impreza front knuckles and struts, I now have a way to adjust the camber BEFORE I touch the camber plates. The two bolts that bolt the strut to the knuckle are the camber adjustment for the stock Impreza so even if I went lifted, I could adjust the camber a little bit, granted its not much. That and rear ebraked RX's are sooooo much cooler
  22. first off, pull the engine. The most EASIEST way to get all of the listed above, done on your car. You can the replace the oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, clutch, timing belts and drive belts, drop it back in, do the radiator, hoses, t-stat, oil change and fuel filer since it should be right there in the engine compartment, tune up and then tackle the brakes. If you try to do the oil pan gasket or even the valve cover gaskets with the engine in the car, you'll have more headaches then you know what to do with. it also helps to list what car you're doing the work on as well so we can give you more specific instructions on how to do something because the fuel filters have different location from EA81s and EA82s.
  23. what I did was hooked up a drill to a extension and socket, put it on the oil pump sprocket and whirl it a bit. Then install the timing belts and call it good.
