  1. Mike, I'll go to the bar and have a beer for ya... oh wait, I bought some earlier so yep, I'm gonna have one for you, one for your wagon, one for my RX, one for me, another one for the RX.....
  2. Mike, its the same on my RX and I have an inboard alt and an outboard AC compressor. I belt on the alternator and thats it...
  3. heck yeah. sounds like a plan...
  4. what yard are you going to??? Holy crap. Sounds like the price from B&R. I'm getting one in a parts car and if it doesn't sell to someone here that might not possibly have the money, I can put you next in line for $100 and that would be for the whole diff, not just the carrier...
  5. you can swap in an EA81 1800cc OHV engine and tranny into it. You'll have to modify the shift linkage a little or cut a bigger hole in the trans tunnel for the linkage to fit but other then that, it should be a drop in, plug in and go type deal. Search around because there are a few people who have done it.
  6. Well Andrew didn't want to go since we would have gotten down there about 3 or so and he wanted to look for some parts for his Polara. I told him we should go just to meet everyone but nope, he backed out... Hopefully my RX will be running soon and I can just drive that down:D
  7. well sheet... when I come back into town for Christmas, maybe we could all get together and kick it somewhere.
  8. I had a busted tranny mount in my Brat and you couldn't tell unless you put pressure up on the tranny and actually lifted it up. The rubber was still there but it had ripped right off of the metal mounting plate but it was so clean, you couldn't see any rip.
  9. I might be working out a deal to get a fully rebuilt shortblock from an SPFI so I can slap my new OEM gen 3 turbo heads on it after a bit of P-n-Ping. Then I'll see what kind of oversized valves I can get for it and some stiffer valve springs. Bolt it all on with a set of ARP headstuds and throw my set of Delta cams in there and see what she can do. This is plans for the future but with the approval of a loan I hopefully get, it'll be sooner then expected:D
  10. I was looking at getting a JDM engine as well when I first got my RX. Well now that I have a pretty nice motor in there, I'm gonna stick with it until I get my rebuilt one from CCR. Oh and since I also got $$ from my parent's for my birthday and money from my aunt, I'm gonna be calling up TWE and getting me one of those sexy looking headers:D
  11. I'm not hung over. I do have a slight headache but I'm still good to wrench!!! Mwahahahahahaha.....
  12. hopefully I won't be too hung over tomorrow since the 23rd is my 21st birthday and I'm going out tonight after midnight to get hammered. Anywho, Hondasucks and I should be down there tomorrow if he isn't too lazy. Then I can meet all of the cool Colorado people since I basically know all of the cool Wyoming people:D
  13. I've seen that one as well IIRC. I haven't a clue...
  14. yes, it should be exempt. I believe they start in '76;)
  15. How can I get one of those? Tex, ya go the hookup or something?
  16. see if you can't get the number for the shop or the guy who did it and see what all you can dig outta them... then post it in the USRM so we all can do a swap like that;)
  17. Is it just hitting the disty or does it not fit in general ie being too long for the block? The disty I heard you can shave some off of the thermostat housing and off of the disty, flip the disty 180 degrees and it should fit...
  18. might want to try using some POR-15 or something equivilant. Would help prevent the rust from even starting.
  19. dude those old Datsuns are SAWEET!!!! A lot more roomier then your 360 probably AND you can haul stuff AND it has a little bit bigger engine:brow:
  20. WOW! If it does work, then we'll have a 300ZX injector upgrade AND a MAF upgrade as well... Sorry I can't help ya out but this is pretty interesting...
  21. its not known as a transfer case. It's still considered part of the transmission. First off, check the tranny fluid. Fill if low. If that doesn't help, try putting an additive in there like Lucas transmission additive. If that still doesn't help, then its time to go hunting through the junkyard for a transmission...
  22. even if you do end up using it on dry pavement again, make sure to drive about 200 feet in a straight line and it'll pop out like it did when you popped it into 4wd.
  23. I traded a '87 Justy for my '78 Brat... well since the Brat didn't have any plates on it even though he had it registered, I decided to throw a good set of plates on it from my '79... I mean my '78 wagon since they had come off of a '78 wagon. I drove it like that for about 3 months and whenever I got pulled over, I'd show the title for the '78 wagon, show him the title for the Brat and the registration and tell him/her that I had put the frame of the wagon under my Brat since the frame under the Brat was rusted to crap. Always got away;)
  24. nothin to be ashamed about, just a little bit of half-assin' it. A lot of people do it all the time but sometimes it can result in what has happened to you my friend. As for doing a build-up, my current engine in my RX which I'm about ready to finish and fire up has the following mods done to it, plus what I paid for the parts as well.. XT-T spyder intake - $165.00 shipped (this includes everything I need to bolt on and go) WRX top mount intercooler and hoodscoop - $115 shipped WRX TD04 turbo - $120 shipped Delta 260 street cams - traded parts to Will which I still need to send off but they run IIRC $120 + your core cams from Delta Megan Racing downpipe - $150 GReddy Profec II B-Spec electronic boost controller - $200 shipped GReddy Auto Turbo Timer - $13 shipped new OEM headgaskets and all the other gaskets from Advance - $150 ($75 was the headgaskets) AEM Cold Air Intake - $60 shipped (for a WRX, I also spent an extra $115 for aluminum and silicone hosing to go from the turbo to the intake. I also got a MAF adapter so I can continue running my MAF until I go MS&EDIS) Samco intercooler hose set - $45 TurboXS BOV - $60 Other then that, the engine is stock for now. The only thing you have to do in order to bolt on the TD04 to the stock EA82T uppipe is the back stud in the uppipe has to move back about a 1/2". Then weld it on and the turbo will bolt on. I would also recommend replacing all of the rubber hoses for the coolant and the oil return to be on the safe side. Also, the reason behind the spyder intake is it makes it a lot easier to plumb the intercooler in especially with the hose kit. I'm hoping to have mine back up and running within the month which will be awesome since it hasn't run since last December:( Good luck and I hope this helps a little!
  25. well next time we all decide to try and have another meet, the RX will be running MWAHAHAHAHA!!! And I will once again be driving a Subaru:banana:
