  1. Not yet... got a couple more hours of swapping the pedal box and making sur everything is buttoned up, finish my XT6 swaybar swap, adjust my coilovers to where I want them to be, slap on some new tires and give it an alignment. Should be done by the end of next week to the point where I drive it everyday:banana: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=74167
  2. He Man brand powersteering setup:lol:
  3. This is the official thread of the "My coupe is running" thread. Like it says, she runs, not totally driveable yet but it will be in a few more hours to working on it. Currently its running a stock SPFI I got from DrKrazy to replace the blown SPFI engine it had. I also swapped the FWD 3AT to a RX FT4WD d/r 5-speed, stage 2 clutch, full 5-lug setup and a bunch of other things. I still have to swap out the pedal boxes and tidy up the interior but I also swapped the instrument cluster for one from an RX as well. Also got my nifty ebay melon shooter on it as well. Gotta replace the radiator with my brand new 2 core with dual electric fans and some small items like that but it'll make it to Washington from Wyoming no problem.
  4. But its not that old Zeke! Its a year newer then that car and only has 73k miles on it IIRC. Hope to see this when its done cause it sounds like its going to be an awesome project:headbang:
  5. you're coming to visit me in Laramie before I leave?
  6. My coupe + 5-lug > your Panda RX:-p
  7. I bet the hub where the axle goes into the knuckle is stripped out. With the axle turning with the tranny, that would be the best bet. Easy way to tell. Jack the front of the car up on jackstands, pull the wheel off and start the car. Then put into gear and if you see the end of the axle turning (large 36mm nut), then the hub is stripped out. Easy fi, just remove the 36mm castle nut, remove the brake caliper and slide it off the axle.
  8. if there was no problem BUT the axle like driveability issues, then pay for the axles and get outta there. Its a scam or they f***ed something up and are trying to blame it on it needing a tranny and getting you to pay for it. If the tranny didn't make any noises when you took it in there, ask if you can take it for a test drive and see why the tranny needs to be replaced. If they're trying to toy with you, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it since the only thing that has to do with the tranny when you replace the axles is the axles have a roll pin that goes through the axle, through the stub on the tranny and back into the axle.
  9. Your engine has ONE cam. The EA81 has ONE cam. The EA82 has TWO cams. The EJ25 DOHC has FOUR cams... Swap in an EJ. Much easier, simpler and a lot less expensive, especially when you blow your third engine. I had 3 engines in my RX and went through ALL of them. The EA71 is reliable stock or with a mild P-n-P and a slightly larger cam but thats about it. If you go with any sort of an EJ, there are performance parts out the wazoo including pistons that won't break the bank, aftermarket rods, better heads and cams and so on. If you wanna put your life savings into an EA71 just to blow it the first time you get a lead foot, just to rebuild it again in 100 miles, be my guest. You can easily put half of what you're wanting to spend into an EJ and have more power and more reliability then the monster of an engine you're thinking about. Or find yourself an EA71 from a late 70's FE and put it in there with a Weber. I had that engine (higher compression) and a Holley 5200 with an electronic disty from a 2wd EA81 and it would smoke the rear tires in my '78 Brat forever.
  10. About time you lazy bum. Now get that Polara running and you'll be high rollin:lol:
  11. Its the same as any EA82 FI fuel pump.
  12. well you gotta talk to him but last time he mentioned that motor, it was heading for the scrap bin. I think it either had a cracked head or a blown headgasket. Just recently had a bunch of head work done by the previous owner before it sat and Bill picked it up. So the engine was still good, we just swapped it out for one that ran (from the turbo Brat)
  13. Mike, I know Bill has an EA81T from his t-coupe that was pissing water or something form somewhere (never started it up to see myself) and he's planning on throwing it away. I bet he'd give it to you but it would be minus turbo IIRC.....
  14. I think I would die without the board.....
  15. So I'm now officially starting the countdown until I move! My move in date in Redmond, WA is May 18th. Starting today (April 15th) I have exactly 30 days until I leave Wyoming:banana: I leave the morning of May 16th so I'm not really counting that a day except for driving:-\ I'm excited and I'll be able to go to WCSS this year after missing it 2 years in a row:headbang:
  16. I have a good set of gen 2 turbo heads with new valve seals and with small cracks between the valves but none in the ports. PM me and we can work something out.
  17. and what has changed between that pic and now Jeff?:-p
  18. Some of us don't have mountain friendly vehicles... me being one of them:grin: That and I don't wanna get my coupe dirty too much, especially once I repaint the sucker.
  19. I should have my coupe road worthy sometime this next week or so. I still have to finish up the carrier bearing mount (hopefully I won't light the car on fire again), install the clutch, oil pump and timing belts, then install it into the car drop my intake on and see if I can get some noise from it. Then I gotta swap the 4wd exhaust on it, swap pedal clusters, install my instrument cluster, swap seats, finish with some interior stuff, give it an alignment and swap on some better tires. Then I should be able to drive it down there and *hopefully* not have any issues like I did with my stupid F*&^#&^# Audi:rolleyes:
  20. Trim on the outside might be different but the doors themselves will physically bolt up to the car. The wiring might not be the same but its not hard to rewire doors to get them to work right...
  21. I know that Mxplax or however you spell his board name, had one on his RX. The large STi scoop. I have one that I'm going to be fitting onto my coupe but I got a piece of the STi hood where the scoop bolts to so I'm going to do some custom grafting of it to make it work;)
  22. Ok, for the EA71, it needs to be rejetted because of the jets being too big for the engine. Now if it was the high compression JDM EA71 that came in the FE coupes, then the 32/36 will work better. As far as the Weber 32/36 being the same as one from a 2.3 Pinto, they look similar since both are made by Weber (the Pinto one has "Holley Made by Weber" stamped on the side of it, they are however NOT the same. The barrels on an actual Weber are much much larger then the Holley version. General Disorder and I went over this one evening at his house while we were comparing them side by side.
