1. New exhaust is quiet as can be. All lifter noise is gone. Daily driver duty is good for it. http://vid564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/68boomer/IMG_2326.mp4
2. I think that paint would buff out. I would do it by hand, people get carried away with buffers. I would hate to grind off the paint at the edges.
3. welcome to the board. Just finished the New LA Federal courthouse there in April, I was glad to be out of the traffic.
4. Yes, Croak its the stock hitch but better than the bumper only ones. You can see here they attach to the frame rails also. There were only a couple hundred pounds of tongue weight, with my bike and trailer The tires are 195/75/14 on Nissan rims I cut and moved the backspacing out
5. I have been meaning to post this. Hauled my bike to the shop 2 hours away. While on reserve drive in Missoula Montana a WRX got up next to me and took a photo gave us thumbs up.
6.
Good Year ultra grip new old stock (bought 6) on stock rims powder coated. They were very rusty.

7. You can put a adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a gauge they are $40 and up
8. I think with the proper jets this will work it's all air + fuel = bada$$

10. Wagon is still seeing Daily Driver duty, but soon she will have some new shoes. New old stock Goodyear Ultra Grip. I was given 4 steel 13's by local Les Schwab. They are at the powder coater now.
11. Sorry for the thread jack. those are Nissan rims 14 inch zero lift. search SubaRude in members rides
12. i't doesn't seem to have much slop, not as much as my brat by any means. I will check that out for sure thanks for the reply.
13. I have an 86 Wagon I'm having issues getting it in reverse. I got the car with PO saying there was no reverse. I got it into reverse much closer than the normal feel of falling into gear, closer to 4th than you would think. Is this a shifter fork that's wore out or? I am swapping this one out for a DR, but want to know what to fix for a future build. All the gears are smooth as silk and no noise. Cold its a bear to find the "sweet" spot warm just knowing where to put it is good. I hope to find the cause of this to re-purpose what we have. Thanks for any input.
14. transmission mount and motor mount need to be adjusted and axles are shorter but the short aswer is H*!! yeh. the did it stock in 1981 Enjoy!!!

17. Update this post. What have you done? Planned? I know this is a series of projects. I have a few ideas, built S&S campers just out of high school and have been a tiny house nut ever since.
18. I would have to agree on clear coat, and call it project lock jaw.
19. Hello and welcome I was just through orange a couple of weeks ago.
20. Whats the plan for this GEM? I have always loved the gen 1 wagons, used them as my winter car in Montana. Always started, and some of my friends would say too ugly to die, A few of them had to eat crow after a blizzard.
21. How do the pistons look? is there a groove at the top of the cylinder? if both look good do a home head re-surface and a set of gaskets good for another 100K.
22. I bought my 05 NA Baja in 07 low miles and to date have done only minor repairs Turbo's are fun but the Na is bullet proof and for normal driving all the power needed. Just my .02
