Articulation/sway bar question
Pins (hardened) were longer than I needed so I took up slack with o-rings and brass washers.

Articulation/sway bar question
Replaced the lower bolts with pins that look like trailer hitch pins only smaller. Worked well but with the front sway on it was fine on road so I took off the rear completely (still got it). Think I'm gonna put it back on and remove the front. Pull pins when I go off road.

Articulation/sway bar question
So I've been running around with the front sway bar and no rear sway bar. Decided to do a test. (this was as far as I could go before leaving rubber on the pavement) So I disconnected the front sway bar and took it for a ride. Not as much body roll as I expected, didn't get on the highway but imagine it's quite noticeable there. Went back up the ramps, what a difference. (could have went farther, couldn't rock it at all like this) So that's all fine and good but would it make a difference off road. Luckily I have a small area to play in right next to my neighborhood. Theirs a hill there about 20/25 ft high, about 45 deg angle, rutted and off camber. I could climb it with the front sway but only with some momentum. Now I crawled up it from a dead stop in 2nd gear with the 4eat lock engaged,no wheel spin whatsoever. I made quick disconnects for the rear before I removed it completely, thinking of putting that back on and removing the front. Anybody done this, any thoughts?

welded center diff?
Are you saying this trans (nissan pathfinder) will bolt to our bell housing on a 4eat? With a married transfer case on it? Does it bolt to the front Subie diff case? If so that almost REQUIRES I put solid axles under my Foz. Something I've given serious thought to,this would make it all the easier. Any info you have on this would be greatly appreciated.

welded center diff?
monstaru Are you talking about welding up the transfer clutch itself? If you are have you thought about making a drive slug to take the place of the plates instead? And it wasn't until 2 posts ago that you said anything about a transfer case so binding would not be an issue like I stated posts ago. Just saying.

My "wheeler" update
I'm running Yokohama Geolander A/T S's and got no complaints. Don't know if they come in your size but there not quite as aggressive as the Grabbers.

welded center diff?
No problem on tarmac if he took out the front diff (i.e. RWD).

97 Over heating problems
frogstar7055 replied to nuteeter's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy Forester was just doing the same thing only intermittently. Turned out to be the thermostat. (my radiator is already new). Changed thermostat, both hoses (were the originals),new coolant with some Wetter water and problem solved.

welded center diff?
It actually might work great if it's kept on the dirt. Just saying.
-
welded center diff?
Do it on a spare trans, one you won't care about when it grenades. Just saying.
-
welded center diff?
Lets see if I got this right, you want to weld up the transfer clutch on a 4eat? That pretty much makes it full time 4wd don't it? Just saying.
-
welded center diff?
I've got the 4eat lock mod on mine and my opinion whether you want it or not is if you weld it and drive on pavement at all it will break. Switch engaged on pavement causes a horrible binding in any direction but a straight line. Just saying.

Off road poker run
Have been thinking about going on this but wasn't sure I'd have the day off. Went today with Grandsons. Was a lot of fun but VERY dusty. Was open to anybody but I was the only non-Jeep that showed up. Even had a guy tell me he was way impressed with how well The Fozz did in the deep soft sand.

Biggest tires with no lift?
My forester with 225/70 15's (27.4") before I made the 2" lift. Worked fine with very little rub at full lock.
