  1. I fit the tall filter without any clearance issues
  2. Non OEM thermostats have a history of being crap. I would suggest going to your local Subaru parts desk and ordering a genuine T-stat. You can also boil your old thermostat to make sure it is working correctly.
  3. That is a part of the short block. Now you have to take the whole thing apart again!!! jk:lol:
  4. And this I hit a stump so hard it reset my trip meter. I thought i had hardcore bent a tie rod, but i only bent it slightly When are you going to upload those videos, Scott?
  5. quiet you. your giving away our secret your right though. its more for show (fo' sho') the car will survive a quick dip though.
  6. What are. I see no pictures
  7. Success! Scott and I had a fun day and made it up to the rock pit before lack of gas made us turn around. All i had was my cell phone. Scott has better pictures
  8. Here is mine 2" pvc pipe which will be hooked into a fuel injection intake on a stock carb And here is the car it came off of
  9. Why hello, 2 year old thread! How nice to see you again!
  10. I HATE ice. Its gotta be one of the worst things to go through because it piles up in front of your car.
  11. Thanks for the correction, GD. Got my cars mixed up
  12. Do the Nissan swap and you will be happy. The GM one isn't worth the hassle for the extra 10 amps.
  13. broke college kids FTW!! I've only invested about 1200 dollars into my car including purchase price
  14. Water will still get to the timing belts even with the covers on, as there are holes in the bottom of them. And how would rocks even get to them? The radiator and grill protects from the front, the car itself protects the sides, and i dont think that rocks will randomly jump up off the ground... just get a good skid plate, and you will be fine.
  15. I was testing it between the alt and the battery. I topped off the water in the battery (which should have been the first thing i did:-\) and the voltage output dropped, so that helped. i will test the power at the fusible links to see what i get. Now that it is starting to snow, i want this car to last till march
  16. So is it normal to have such high voltage rates then?
  17. the big wire into #1 and the small wire into #2
  18. I did. New out of the box this morning.
  19. The highbeams don't work when you push the lever towards the dashboard, but they do work when you pull the lever towards you. So is the dashbaord switch broken?
  20. It was tested out of the box because the first 3 didn't work and i had the battery tested as well, it is fine
  21. OR -this is directed at everyone- Instead of arguing over something like oil filter size, micron, re-usable blah blah blah blah, just go to your local NAPA and get the filter recommended for the car you have, I'm sure Subaru had knew what they were doing when they designed your car. <-this sums up this whole thread and re-using disposable filters has to be one of the dumbest things i have ever heard.
  22. So i just did a 100 amp GM swap and i tested it with my multimeter, and i got 12.3 volts at 400 rpm idle. when i revved it, it charged at 15 volts and the meter continued to climb. When i checked my stock loyale for comparison, it read 13.2 consistently. What is going on? Or is this normal? I don't want it to overcharge, because that when things go bad... Oh yeah, and now my headlights dont work. i checked the fuses and they are good, bulbs are not burned out and the taillights work... WTF?
  23. the old grease should get pushed through the when you pack the new grease in
