  1. well, from the pics, it looks a lot better than it is, i went to the body shop after i got home tonight, just to look at the car(the shop was closed) the radiator support and basically the whole front end support bit is bent up rather badly, couldnt see it before cause the hood was stuck shut and the grille and light were still in place. the shop called me earlier and said that the estimate sofar was around $4300 and they hadnt finished tearing it down to inspect for more damage. it looked like they already moved the radiator off of the drive belts though, the supports are still badly damaged. the hood was definatly a total loss, then they cut a hole in it to get it opened. i was looking at some venders on nasioc and found one that was selling the twin beam morette style headlights and a cf hood withthe scoop and vents for less than the stock parts from the dealership.i might just endup saving a few bucks from the deductable and making my car better in the process. but for the meantime, i still need to get the rx running and registered sothat i can get to and from school while the impreza is down. thanks everyone for your support and concern.
  2. thats funny, i want a huge pushbar and driving lights. i think that would have made a differance in hte damage i suffered. although, a huge pushbar doesnt really look that good on an impreza.
  3. i really hate deer, especially the ones tht dont look both ways before crossing the interstate at night without wereing reflective garments. bastids. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7480974&posted=1#post7480974 here be the thread i posted on nasioc not the real issue other than the impreza being hurt is that i really really need the get the rx running again so that i can get to and from school. i have no transportation now.the rx still wont start aswell.
  4. ill hit up the auto parts store today and see what a set of spacers would run. the only problem ill have is that i cant really afford new rims and tires. buti can figure stuffs out anyway.
  5. im thinking that you may be able to use something like a wheel spacer to bolt the rim to the hub. i was thinking about that a while back, but havent had the time or money to try it.
  6. im scared, soooo much power from a 1.8l engine. sounds awsome though, i want it.
  7. my only concern with popinting it to the back is that when you are driving, the wind going over the snorkle might create a dead spot in the air flow, almost a vacuum sucking air out of it.
  8. i dont have detonation problems, but my car still runs like crap on regular, the two extra octane points really seem to help. i only use mid in my rs.
  9. you need my friend's impact gun, its got "nut bustin" torque
  10. thats when you get huge fender covers and and mud flaps.
  11. i thought that the tranny wouldnt go into or out of low at speeds above 20mph. at least not without major damage.
  12. most of the snorkles i have seen open to the front, if you are worried about mud, just get some bigger mud flaps
  13. i would try to pump my own gas anyway, and if they forced me to stop, i would be standing over their sholder the whole time. if they screwed up, it would be the last mistake they ever made. especially if they put regular grade in my car, ewww.
  14. note to self, make sure i have enough gas to get through jersey. on a side note, subarubrat, do you know of anywhee in maryland to go off roading? my friends are getting trucks and suv's and i want to take my rx off road when i get it done. sorry, didnt mean to hijack the thread.
  15. poor greenbacks, i wish i had some to sacrifice. good luck with our project, mine is going very slow, although i ended up getting some free stuffs today, well, nearly free. got a jdm ver7 sti bov for the cost of lunch and i scored some free wrx shocks and struts. now to find a use for the suspension components.
  16. i like this thread sofar, besides, if people only posted when they accomplished a great conversion or build up, this forum would be rather dead and boring.
  17. im getting confused. btw, wha is the conversion betwween hp and ps? ive been trying to figure out hte hp ratings on japaneese cars in a video game.
  18. right now, my 2.5rs is getting about 25mpg on the highway. i have no idea about the rx though
  19. same thing happened to my friend's wrx engine.didnt check to see if it had oil when he took it to the track. then he elt a freind drive it, the guy dogged it. now the re is a hole worn through the side of the piston that you can slide a penny through.
  20. well, if you really want power and are willing to drop some green, you could always make a wrx engine and drive train fit into the brat:brow: . that would be scary fast if you did that.
  21. the pump works when i jump the relay. the relay is fine, its just not getting the signal to turn on, i think. the little wire coming off of the positive side is good. i am running out of ideas. this is why i need someone that knows how to diagnose and fix wiring problem to come over and take a look at the car.
  22. well, everything under the hood looks to be in good shape, i thinking that the problem is definatly under the dash. wiring is hell. i really need someone to come and help me.
  23. right now, i have the slowest sedan, well, till i get it started again.
