  2. not sure yet, but ill check that in the morning if it isnt raining.
  3. thats what i have been lookig into getting eventually, the metal gaskets and head studs. i just need to figure out where ill be getting em from.
  4. i need to know how to check the ditsy and ignition switch.
  5. well, the resistor is goodariffic. i think its down to the ditsy or the ignition switch. knowing my luck, the entire car is boned.
  6. aaaaarrrrrgrggggghhhhhh well, i have been told to try the dropping resistor for the injectors, cause it seems that they arent spraying. i will report back in a few minutes after i attack it with my fluke meter.
  7. the main problem i am having when trying to run tests is that i dont have anyone to help me out, i need an extra set of hands on this. i should prolly geta remote starter from pepboys. its hard to do any of the tests that require starting the car while watching the engine.
  8. timing belts are fine. it ran fine until i got under the dash the other week. i am wondering if the ignition switch might be buggered. i had the plastic bits off of the column and was tring to get the steering wheel off of the car to get to the headlight dimmer switch and try ot fix that cause i dont have low beams.
  9. oh yeah, if anyone wants to contact me, my cell # is 301- 305-1807 my aim screen name is bikergothdude feel free to call me or send an im any time.
  10. hey snotrocket, im free all weekend if you are willing to come up. ill break out the grill.
  11. damn left coast an all your abundant subarus. i i was close to getting a legacy turbo as my first car but it was way to far away, like a few states away. good subis are few and far between here.
  12. ill hopefully be making enough money when i get out of school to build up my 2.5rs into an unofficial 22b sti. ghetto 22b to go with my ghetto sti rx . id love to get the 22b wide body kit for my impreza.
  13. ok, ill be the first here to get started on a wrx killer, it will start out slow cause i need the car to last for a little while, atleast till next summer when i gradualte from lincoln tech. sidenote, i have a 4.0 and nearly perfect attendance, i never had that in highschool. but with the rx, ill be starting out with the turbo upgrade as well as bigger injectors and fuel management, prolly in the form of an APEXi s-afcII, i think. so it will be bigger turbo, bigger exhaust, bigger injectors, new custom headers, xt intake manifold and xt6 tb, wrx intercooler, rising rate feul pressure regulator. thats the first step, eventually ill be getting new cams, then maybe a port and polish, stronger pistons, find a better head gasket(if possible) and ill prolly figure out what ill do from there, but thats going to be a while down the road, im poor at the moment. i do how ever hhave just about all the parts to do my turbo upgrade, i just need a few more parts and to get hte car to fun again.
  14. go with the ej22t with wrx heads, poprted and polished, a td05 form the sti, front mount ic, no one will ever out run you.
  15. uh oh, time for yet another junk yard run
  16. i have to agree with that, totally.
  17. who cares what the car will be worth at resale after putting 6k into it, i doubt that he is doing that just to sell the car, hell, if i sell the rx when i am dont, ill keep the engine and drivetrain from it, no point in doing all the work if its not going to be enjoyed. everyone here needs to go out, take a deep breath of fresh air, and just relax. everyone is getting wwwaaayyy to high strung for my liking, besides, no one is forcing you agree with the theory, if you think its stupid, thats your opinion and your right to feel that way, but please calm down a bit about all this, i sick of seeing people getting flamed on the forums, which is why i dont post much on nasioc anymore. so everyone, go out, smoke a bowl, have a beer, have a cig, take a drive, just chill out. thats all i ask of you, this is supposed to be the more mature and intellagent subaru community, lets get along with each other and quit bashing other peoples' ambitions.
  18. the lack of the fuel pump priming was the first thing i noticed when it didnt start. i rewired the pump, but still no priming, i jumped the relay for the pump to make sure the pump worked. it ran like a champ. i tied replacing relays with some of the spares i had, no change. i got another ecu, no change. i replaced the coil, plug wires, it has new plugs, fresh gas, clean air filter. it ran perfectly, with the exception of the timing being slightly off, untill the weekend before last. i mighta bumped something out of place when i reinstalled the hood release cable/bracket. i have no idea anymore, my head hurts. by the way, if anyone is wondering, on the weekends, i usually stay home or rather close to it. and this weekend, i will be trying as hard as possible to get the car running so that i can drive it to school next week. that and my impreza is way too close for comfort to the timing belt replacement and wwwaaaaaayyyy over due for its 90k mile service, its at 104xxx miles now and its only a 2000 model.
  19. the t-belt could be a source of the problem, shouldnt be though, im pretty sure that the belts i put on were new. ill check that anyway, jus to be sure. on the otherhane, how would i go about jumping the coil? also, how could i check to make sure the injectors are working? if anyone is willing to come out here on a weekend (fri-sun) ill gladly break out the grill and treat you to a cook out for your help, and ill prolly find something else to give as well. dont mean to sound cheap or anything, but i am unemploued and broke. but, what the hell, its an excuse for a cookout anyway. might as well have one while the weather is still nice.
  20. well, i am really lost on this, i have replaced parts, now including the ecu, and the car still will not start. i dont know what to do anymore, i am temped to just get a new wiring harness and rewire the entire car. but that was a p.i.t.a. the first time around, as some will say, wiring is hell. i really need help with this issue.
  21. well, i have replaced the coil, wires, and even the ecu, the car still will not start. im running out or ideas. i havent found any broken wires or obvious shorts in the system. i am rather lost on this problem. im about ready to just gut the car and rewire the whole thing, not that i really want to go through that again. i really need help with this.
  22. the way i see it, anything is possible. this is one of those things. wjm has my support if he ever sttarts this project. i am already working on upgrading my rx, if i can get it to start again. im not going for 300hp, but it wil be fast when i am done.
  23. sweetness, i wanna see some pics. you guys out west have too much free time and easy access to old subies, i have to dig to find what i need
