  1. Most of the time I know it's due to low oil but I checked and it's not really low.. The only else thing I think it could be is I'm due for an oil change could that be another reason? it's louder on the drivers side.
  2. I haven't had time yet to do the lower and the other side yet so I just put in the drivers side tie rod but I've noticed that anytime you make a sharp snap turn to the right you get like this knock sound and it will do it also on uneven roads where the wheels need to go up and down. I can't tell if it's from the center or left or right. I hope I can put the car on the stands this weekend but that's pretty iffy with me busy working all this week.
  3. The funny thing is I always block the wheels when I have the front up but I guess this time I was a little forgetful. So how much are scissor jacks anyways?
  4. yeah I will make sure it's supported better this time around.. I tried to save time.. and *cough used my scissor jack without the jack stands.. As soon as I got one bolt of the sway bar the car started to slowly roll back followed my me cursing a few nasty word as I had no other jack near by but the scissor one.. It's pretty much done for.. the jack did not bend but the weight of lifting the car so low did the jack in. The interesting part was I had the car in 1st gear and the e-brake up too..
  5. Do you have to remove both bolts on the sway bar? I will try on Friday since it's going to rain on Saturday.
  6. bump.. Anyone know about the lower balljoint? I did not bring the jack stands with me so I just only had one side jacked up and it was impossible to remove the lower balljoint.. pickle fork and all... and yes I removed the pinch bolt
  7. wow wielding the plate on.. now that's serious
  8. Hmm I'm going to guess when the lower ball joint needs to come out the car needs to be level in order to keep the sway bar level? it was a pain to get the lower BJ out.. I never got it out. I did do the drivers side inner and outer and it was pretty much easy.. I still have that sound so I can't narrow anything out for sure until I figure out how to get the lower BJ out and do the other side on wed. And I was spot on with the alignment.. I did have to check it visually about 7 times before I felt good enough that it was going to track straight and it did on the highway.
  9. I have that gun and it's great but it is heavy.. but not bad.. And as for other who say avoid harbour freight for this store you really have to read reviews... I post over at the 80+ page at slickdeals on HF and over at the garage journal. Now if these tools are for a shop I might not use them only for a backup.. But what I picked up from HF so far still works fine.. 10gal air compressor 1/2" earthquake impact 1/2" impact socket set 50Ft goodyear air hose blow gun
  10. How long did it take you for your first time?
  11. What did you use to spray the parts black?
  12. I just gotta buy a clutch kit and a few other things and I should be ready to go Going to make sure I label everything and take pictures lol
  13. One question I have is can bad inner and outer cause wheel shake? I wanted to do mine this weekend but I almost forgot I had to help a person install a blower motor resistor in his car but should not take long at all.
  14. I almost got into a tiff with a dealership over this.. I needed a key with the rubber on it because when I brought the car I only had the sub key and the valet key.. The guy was like I need this and that and at the time I was waiting for the DMV to send me the title.. I should of asked him you need to see my SS# too?!? I don't like going to that dealership anyways despite it being about 16 miles closer to me.
  15. I had no issue with mine.. now I did mine was square it and turned as if I was screwing it on.. after I got past the threads that was it.
  16. I'm strapped for cash but I brought in pairs.. they have been sitting in my room for about 6 months or so now.. mine is so bad that the inner tie rod moves around.
  17. Yeah I'm going to tackle my inner and outer rods this weekend providing my wrist has healed.
  18. felt good leaving work today and jumping in a cool car
  19. ahh done. it was a funny mistake.. you know on the harbour freight gauges and the quick connects.. well I'm not used to turning something clockwise to open but that's the way it is...
  20. I need one more can.. I thought the pressure switch was shot.. funny thing is I guess it's a Subaru only part for the 95? I see switches for the forester and all..
