  1. Im also going tO be starting a job at a recycling yard here pretty soon so finding parts should be easy. This isn't goin to be a race car it's just going to look sound cool and help turn the meats a little better I expect maybe 120 hp at the very most. Probably closer to 100Hp
  2. Sorry I meant 81 trans am turbo. Not ea81t sorry about a miss understanding
  3. 87gl10 On a COMPLETELY unrelated note anyone ever seen smoke coming from the brake fluid resivoir? Its completely messing with my head. I got another master cyclinder I'm going to put in.
  4. I was thinking about the mini cooper sc too it would work the best I think but the bird catcher would be at the front of the hood and I think It would look funny It's going to be a draw through setup and for a carb I was going to use something off of something already turbo'd or supercharged. maybe a 81t/a turbo those are draw through but I can't remember if it was Carb or f/I maybe thecarbs off of a massirati biturbo I've seen the ram engines stuff but I'm not made of mOney so that pretty much rules them out. although a 200hp ea81 in a hatchie would be amazing. Here in a few weeks I'm going to sell my 87gl10 to start the mods on the hatchie so I should have around 1400 to put in to the hatchie aside from the s/c it will get a 4 inch lift some 28s bumper winch lights and some mudflaps (that's happening first) The reason for all of this is my brother passed away about 2 weeks ago and I'm going to build it as a memorial to him. It was even built when he was born 7/84
  5. 0 . But I gotta learn some time right? Plus superchargers are very simple, air goes in gets compressed By the rotors then gets sent into the motor. That combined with my knowledge of turbos I think I can figure most of it out. GD just for kicks if you were to s/c an ea81 how would you do it? Any particular faults I should expect? Head gaskets, Pistons that kinda thing. It would only run maybe 5psi
  6. little excessive don't ya think? I was thinking an eaton m90 just for the fact I can get one for less than 200
  7. thats pretty sweet. looks like it was alot of fun to race... i wonder what ever happend to that supercharger and carb set up... it would work well for what im going to do.
  8. so I've got an 84 hatchie and since its yellow with black stripes over the top i thought it would look sweet with a bird catcher sticking out of the hood. Now I've looked through a couple threads but it seems no one has actually done it. I've thought it through a few times and i think it would be some what easy so heres my plan: super charger of some kind, ea82t pistons(maybe not),afr gauge, adjustable fpr, bigger fuel pump, a carb off of something, adapters for the intake and carb, maybe a delta cam and some mild porting. now that seems like everything i should need to make it work aside from a few random things that may arise. this guy has supergharged a geo metro in the same kinda way its where i got my idea, theres a build thread for it somewhere but i cant remember where.. this is all speculations as there is still 5ft+ of snow outside
  9. put new rear shocks in the 84 hatchie...no more clunks!!!!!
  10. well the loyales came with push button 4x4 with a locked center diff so you will always get 2 wheels spinning the front and rear diffs are open some cars came with LSD in the rear like the rx's some xt6s and a few gl-10s and you might even get lucky and find a wagon or sedan as they were optional the main problem is most of the cars with LSD are 3.700 ratio where as the normal 4x4 is 3.900 ratio you can put the lsd unit into the 3.90 diff with minor mods( theres a thread some where about it) I've even heard rumors of people putting the lsd in the front diff the easiest solution is just to weld the rear diff and just pull one of the rear axles on the pavement im sure someone else will post and fill in the blanks as im also a relative noob
  11. Swapped the fender valance corner light and bumper on the 87gl10 from a 91 looks soo much better now I just need to swap the hatch and figure out my brakes
  12. Well with 4x4 wagon struts in the back it should make it sit about level right? Thatd be a good look
  13. Would it do the same in the front? And thanks
  14. I just got an 86fwd xt with bad rear struts and I was wondering would 4x4 wagon struts lift or lower it? I'll find out when I got swap them I'd just like to know before hand thanks
  15. Wow you sir are talented. I'm so glad I don't have that much rust on my hatchie lol
  16. Oh I forgot to mention the coolant temp sensor connectors get corroded and give the ecu the wrong readings when I replaced my cts I had a cts code for a while till I fixed the corrosion and checks the wires
  17. Check the Intake piping for cracks or leaks if it's leaking it'll cause the low idle you may also want to check the Maf if it's acting funny it will cause this Also check the timing it sounds like a timing advance problem explains why it runs crappy then idles too high If you plug the test connector together it will stop the disty from advancing.
  18. for the pics i think you need to host the pic on another site like photobucket then link them to your posts. i just post videos. much easier and for the striped screw i cant visualize the problem but maybe a dremal with a cutting wheel to turn it into a flathead? or maybe weld a nut to the top of the screw. just ideas tho
  19. id like to get my hands on that motor.. just to have a spare ea82t my gl-10 has 245k and runs like a top. its got a leak or 2 but all very slow and it does get up and move when i give it the skinny pedal so much so that ive destroyed the rear diff bushings...twice. also mine has the 3.9 ratio so that does help a little bit i think you should pull that motor out replace all the seals and put a set of spfi pistons in it. i dont think you actually need to crack the block open to do that, and you would get quite a bit more power. this is what im doing when it gets warmer out
  20. i know exactly what you mean. its like the car has a bunch of small cuts and every time you put a band aid on one it holds out its paw to show you another. i think theyre more like pets than cars.
  21. so i figured it out. the maf was the problem but now theres a boost/exhaust leak and its not getting full power. but atleast i can get up to 45 in a timely manner:D
  22. i want the one with a winch for my 87 wagon. i want a winch and the stock bumper and that looks perfect.. i might have to start saving up..
  23. all the d/r ive used will switch from hi to lo no problem with the clutch in and driving in a straight line. i used to do it in my rx to get better launchs
  24. just about any subaru key works on these with a wiggle or 2 or you can buy "jiggle keys"which are lock picks for cars theyre like $40 online and with my set theres not a car ive ever had that i couldnt pick.(i like these better for my hide-a-key because if they find it they wont know what it is or how to use it.) sorry your car was violated, was the seat position changed? or the mirrors? is there any scratches or metal shavings around the locks? if not you may just be going crazy:grin:
