EA81 lift kit Vs.??
On an ea81 you have to drop the subframe when you lift it. Otherwise your cv axles will explode. Ea82s can be lifted 2" without dropping the subframe

My New '90 Loyale Wagon
Its not that bad the hardest part is getting the roll pin back in place.

My New '90 Loyale Wagon
Ive gOt a video o youtube shOwing how to replace a cv axle on oneof these. Search for lockpickman under 87subaru cv axle. You only need a 14 mm and 36mm socket a pry bar and a basic philips screwdriver. A breaker bar might be helpful.. Too bad yOur so far away i have a brandnew cv axle in my cubbyhole id put it in for 100.would only take me about 20mins

My New '90 Loyale Wagon
Ive won a few dragraces.. But i got ea82t, the hated turbo version...producing a MASSIVE 115hp.. Lol that with the dualrange with 3.90ratio i got some neck breaking acceleration.

My New '90 Loyale Wagon
Yeah i need to get a set of pedals too, after 246k the pads in my 87gl10 are gone. Lol Took that long to get to 60? sounds a bit lax ..I had an 87 gl wag with the spfi like yours and fully loaded it would still crawl up on people on the onramp. That thing was amazing i would still have it but i let my bro drive it and he wrecked it..into an 87rx that i also used to own. (small world huh?) 2 good subarus died that day. Very very sad.. Idk why but i have a thing for the 87s I hope your wagon provides you with as much fun as mine have Any mods in mind? In the vendor fourm you can get a boss 2" liftkit for 100 plus shipping..

I think this part of the forum would appreciate this as much as anyone would :)
That is pretty freakin epic. How much quicker is it now? i bet the tq from that ej makes it drift a bit better. Do i hear equal length headers?. I woulda left the rotary but thats just me. I love those things, complicity simplicated. Now it just needs a supercharger...lol

Motor seized or electrical problem?
I got a jeep for 75$ with that exact problem. I replaced the terminal and it started right up and i dove it home. It may be wise to pull the plugs to avoid hydrolock if i does have a bad hg.

Weird rattling/ clicking noise
Your roll pin fell out?? Never heard of that before.. Has the sound changed since you replaced the axle or is it the same? If you can make a video of the noise it may help us deduce the issue

My New '90 Loyale Wagon
Even though its only 90 hp ive seen a wagon like that hit 110..took forever but it did it. I think you will find this wagon will be a little more peppy than your old gl You will enjoy the fuel injection in the winter no more "pump pump pump" lol And i highly doubt you will ever get pulled over.. I have never once seen a wagon like ours get Pulled over. i feel invisible when im driving, like a vehicular ninja. For 253k that interior is rediculously clean..aside from the pedals..lol

to get the hatch glass out it just needs to be cut out with a razor. Still not sure about the sides tho.

87 wagon uberbeateruper adventuremobile
Lol in the third pic it looks like the subie is consuming the honda like a snake eating a mouse. I bet you could get completely on top of it if you tried hard enough Now you need a honda stomper sticker.

Reworking the tumblers
Just find another lockcylnder for the doors from something other than a subie or nissan.. Shouldnt be too dificult to find one that fits.. hyundai maybe? i say this because theres never been a subie that i havent been able to open or start with another subie or nissan key. except my brothers hatchie i can turn the ignition but it locks again in the on position and its difficult to start it. with just a boby pin i can get into most cars Dont worry i only use my powers for good. My brother manages to lock his keys in his car about once a week.

1987 Subaru GL-10 4WD jerky and tires chirp??
because theres no rear ebrake you have to kinda pop he clutch while your turning to break the rear tires loose works amazing well. Good tires are a must. when your trying to drive fast around a turn you have to drift if you dont it will understeer and thats alot less fun. especially when your driving on ice covered streets in whiteout conditions. this car has saved my rump roast more times than i can count and ive rescued quite a few ditchdivers. I actually have a 20000lb strap tied to my towhook at all times Just for that reason. 6k miles sideways and no accidents. Dam im good. Moral of the story? Have fun! This car will do everything you ask and i mean everything its more like a loyale dog than a car(lol loyale)

why didn't you tell me?
The owner manual gives specs for when your suposed to shift. Mine says to shift from 1st at 29mph the from second at 48 from 3rd at 72 and 4th at 88 Those are the specs for fASt accelertion in a 87gl10 turbo normal driving is as follows 22,37,53,77 as you can see these motors are much happier at high revs.

1987 Subaru GL-10 4WD jerky and tires chirp??
You have no idea the amount of fun that car will provide. I deliver pizzas her in alaska and i drifted everywhere this winter. Nothing makes u smile like drifting a wagon at 50mph+ kissing snowbanks with the rear bumper Watching hondas drool and guys driving their sti's wish they hadnt spent so much on a car their afraid to drive.
-
if shifting into second is rough do i replace the clutch?
Well adjust the clutch cable first then see what happens. It may be too tight or too loose. If the clutch is bad the car wont move.or very well anyways. Rarely does it affect shifting.

1987 Subaru GL-10 4WD jerky and tires chirp??
Check the tire pressures and sizes . And the chirping may be a limited slip diff in the rear its was an option on the gl10s My 87gl10 had the push utton trans but it went bad so i put a dualrange from a n/a wagon and matching rear diff. Mine was lsd but i did t get the chance to grab it before the parts car was scraped...

Wagon back window(s) removale

My 83 wagon
1st beautiful wagon. 2nd would you do a huge favor to the usmb and make a write up on the 4x100 conversion when you do the rear disc swap? it would be handy to be able to use rims that fit almost every import. and you could run rims from a tercel to keep the 13inch rims...idk why anyone would do that but options are always nice. And i bet car rims have much better offset than truck rims. 3rd KEEP UP THE GOODWORK!!!!

EA82T===>Why hate it?
most people dont like it because the heads are prone to cracking and blowing head gaskets. That plus the engine control system from the 80s they just arent popular for tuning However, properly maintained they are great in stock form. Mine has 246k on it and i still manage to show riced hondas how its done. silly hondas....they think they can drift lol i even showed up an sti once...he doesnt deserve that car. im going to sell mine here soon and buy my brothers 84hatchie. better mileage and i wouldnt feel so bad about denting it on the trail.
