  1. you can, but you will only have about an inch and a half up travel, i bought the struts first and ran stock springs on them. not a good idea, there was alot of down travel but it bottomed out on everything. you would be better using accord springs on stock struts,
  2. only the DL's came with the quad headlights. parts store, or junkyard.
  3. i got 86 accord springs. the part no through oriellys was sp02025 they are in stock here in AK so they must be in stock where you are. i also put the monroe 4 runner struts from a 98 4runner 2.7 4wd p# 71352 lifts the back 2" so no need for the lift in the back and it is the best mod i have ever done. super easy hardest part was getting the spring compressors back of.
  4. i would leave it a little longer than the stock spring
  5. not worth it. you can do it but the gear ratios may be different, you will have to swap the entire engine harness and computer and the fuel pump and probably the fuel lines. plus at the end you will be left with the ea82t.. its ok but not worth it just grab the trans and rear diff from the rx and put an EJ22 in to it. more power more reliability and it will be about the same amount of work with only slightly more money thr RX should have a LSD rear diff. which is the most valuable part of that car.
  6. if you jack up the back, how far the wheel goes down is how far the accord springs and stock struts will lift it. you will lose a little up travel with uncut accord springs as they are longer. but you could cut a coil or so off and keep everything about normal, just stiffer.
  7. The main reason i did it was i couldnt have my tools in the back and passengers without bottoming out
  8. i have lift blocks in the front and just the strut spring combo in the back. the car sits nice and level and they arent that stiff, mainly because i went with monroes instead of kybs, monroes are always softer. it actually just feels right but then again i wheel my car pretty hard and it always felt like the back was really really squishy. the back would bounce all over the place.
  9. the 4 runner struts and accord springs are the best mods i have done to my lifted wagon i can have like 300lbs in the back and not even feel it. if you plan on loading it down and driving it on rough roads thats a very very good mod. with the 4 runner struts and accord springs it lifts the back 2"
  10. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/63821-pics-of-lsd-conversion/ http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/47527-lsd-swap/ this should get you heading in the right direction. next time try searching. most of the guys here will just ignore a post like this.
  11. the best thin would be to buy it and put an EJ engine in it, it would cost roughly the same as buying new heads and you would get more power and better reliability
  12. Dont drive it without the cone washer and flat washer your hub will get ruined just like the last one
  13. Thats kinda what I'm thinking but i wann make sure its a fuel issue and not a coil or some other ignition component getting hot and acting funny.
  14. the fuel filter looks pretty new. The headgasket might be an issue but thats not my main concern right now, it wouldnt cause the stumble hesitation thats the real issue. plus i dont think the headgasket is that bad, the spark plug didnt look brand new, the metal part was black, just the electrode was white. i dont plan on regasketing this motor as the car will be EJ'd next summer and that would be a waste of time. I plan on resetting the timing when the oil pump gasket gets here. the thing leaks like crazy I'm thinking i will rent a fuel pressure tester and drive it around till it starts hesitating and see if its a fuel pressure issue and at the same time replace the fuel filter.
  15. the wires are pretty new, i have thought about that but the ignition system seems in order. it feels like my older dodge shadow when it hit overboost and cut fuel
  16. So i have an 89 gl spfi it will randomly sputter hesitate and almost backfire, buck and lose all power like it stopped getting fuel. now i thought this was due to bad/water in the gas as the car had no gas cap. so i drained the tank dry, oddly it ran for a whole 30 mins and drove around the block 6 times and then to the gas station with no gas...magic put $20 and some seafoam in the tank. problem still persists. it only does it after about 45 minutes of driving. otherwise it runs great although a little gutless. the car came with 4 new parts still in the box, an oil pressure sender, which it needed. cap and rotor, which it needed. and intake manifold gaskets. i replaced the stupid bosch platinums with ngk coppers and noticed something odd, the #3 cyl the electrode was almost white while the other three were tan as normal. My guess is the timing is off leading to the gutless and rough idle but the random hesitation has me stumped. could it be the fuel pump starting to go out? or could the PO have been right and the intake gaskets need replacing? i havnet sprayed around yet. also it was low on coolant, and there appears to be stop leak in the rad... head gasket maybe?? the CEL reads egr solenoid. so its not that.
  17. Been there done that. Pretty easy job really. Ive also had good luck spraying pb blaster in the switch and working it back and forth
  18. She aint dead subarus dont die. They just rest
  19. i always rev mine higher than most just to land right in the power with the next gear.
  20. i have those same tires on my lifted wag, make sure the camber on your front tires is correct those tires wear quickly my front 2 are ruined.
  21. I put 29x8s on my 2" lifted wagon, i have a carbed ea82 and i also have the 5 spd dual range. It will do the highway, but just barely. our speed limit is 65. I wish i had either smaller tires or more power as it runs out of grunt pretty quick off road
  22. I have seen some pop up every now and then that were 63" which would be just a bit wider than a EA82 some i have seen were like 54" which is only 10" short hell for the price i see most of them i could buy 2 46"s and just make one longer.
  23. I actually went and looked at an 88 GL-10 wagon. it was spfi 2WD. I consider those GL-5's
  24. The original subaru roll pins are the best. You can tell by the split having zig zags.all the aftermarket ones are junk. Yes youll wanna clean out any old grease. Brake cleaner will be your friend
  25. one thing that might be a good idea is to put in an aftermarket heavy duty tranny cooler. especially if you plan on hot rodding it a bit.
