After almost 2 months I finally got my 86 XT Turbo:banana: . Im doing my regular check of all the parts and making sure everything is ok. -The power button for the radio got pushed into the radio so its just a little hole now. How do I take the radio out? I dont see any screws and I dont want to just pull and break anything. Do I just pull or are there some screws hidden somewhere? -What size is the windshield wiper I went to walmart and they didnt have XT in the little computer or the book? EDIT: Im an idiot and forgot that I can just measure the one I have on there now:banghead: I had some other questions but Im a little slow today and I cant remember them but Ill proabibly remember them later. Ill also post some pics after I get a chance to clean her up.

I bought an xt with air suspension but it doesnt work. The sturts dont have air. I dont know if they leak the lines leak or if the compressor doesnt work. But I need to drive it home. I was thinking of inflating the struts with my small air compressor and driving it home. How would I go about doing this? I dont know much abour the air suspenson so any help would be awesome. Thanks Jon

I just bought a 92 legacy with 133k for my girlfriend and it needs the timing blet changed. I decided to do it my self b/c she doesnt have alot of money and Im aso going to need to change my xt timimg belt soon. The only thing is I have never changed a timing belt yet. Is there any gaskets, seals, or parts I should check/replace when changing the timing belt? Thanks Jon And I searched and found this thread helpful but not exactly what I was looking for.. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15341&highlight=timing+belt

One of my friends told me to check out these- http://store.summitracing.com/product.asp?p=2177&searchtype=ecat he said that they are sometimes used as "resenators" so I wouldnt have to change my muffler. What do you guys think? Here is a sound clip of my exhaust its inside the car w/ windows down- http://aplace4myhead.com/ob_exhaust.wmv

I do have 3 cats and a resenator. I also got some pics. And I "test" fitted the wrx mid-pipe and its kinda close, its just a few inches short. As you can see in the 5th pic the cat back is welded onto the resenator. So any ideas? I might go and ask if they can legnthen the wrx mid pipe and just bolt the mid pipe on after the 2nd cat.

Some background info...I have a 97 OB with a Borla header and a custom catback (2.25) with a "ricer" straight through muffler. Its kinda loud and the mayor of my town is being a little napoleon and told the local cops to go after all of us. I have had my exhaust for about 2 year and have never been puled over. And now in the past 2 weeks I got 1 ticket and 2 warnings. And my brother got 1 ticket and 1 warning. Now for the options. I have a wrx muffler I wanted to throw on to make it a little more quiet; however when I brough it to my local shop that made my last catback they are telling me they can't just cut and weld it on. They are saying I need a new mid pipe whether its from subaru($250) or if they make it with a resenator ($200). Do I really need the resanator? and is it worth the extra $50 for the oem pipe? Im a broke college student and would like to get it done as cheaply as possible. Any ideas or other posssible suggestions? Thanks Jon

OK...It could be a number of things but I would check the fan first to make sure it goes on when the car gets warm. Then I would check out the thermostat. And if its still not fixed check the waterpump. I just had my Outback overheat b/c the fan wasnt working. It ended up being a relay. This is all kind of hard to do since the car isnt yours but If hes selling it while the car overheats I would hope he selling it really cheap. EDIT: and as for cost if its the thermostat then it will cost only a few buck but if its the waterpump or fan its like 100-250 depending if you do it yourself or have it done.

Im a little bit confused. Did he replace the top rad hose and then it overheated or it overheated and then he replaced the top rad hose? I dont see how just replacing a rad hose will cause the car to overheat unless he replaced it and didnt refill the coolant system. Did it only overheat once and it runs fine now or does it still over heat when you drive it now?

I dont know if im guna be able to make it:( . I havent picked up mt XT yet and my OB just overheated yesterday. Im guna try to get my OB in running shape but if it cost alot I wont have any money to make it down. Moosens if I do go down, across, over, wherever it is. Ill hook up with you somewhere but right now it looks like I wot be making it. I'll keep you informed on the situation.

Im looking at a 91 legacy and when i was checking the fluids there was no differential fluid. he said he just did a tranny swap and didnt fill it yet. Today when I got there to test drive it he was taking someon else out in it. They drove about 2-3 miles(gone for 5 min max) and when I asked if he fixed the fluid level he siad he DIDN'T. How much damage could driving with little to no diff fluid have? Should I even still consider buying the car? Thanks, Jon

I thought that the ea82t was watercooled(thus the antifreeze line), not oil. But im not too sure. Someone who knows what they are talking about will chime in eventually.

I have to head down to the city but I should be back by 2-3. About what time are you talking, 5-6 or later around 9-10 at night? And how much would you want for the hood and fenders for the ea82? Ill proabibly take them off your hands and help out for an hour or 2. And whats the address of the place? I saw the directions from 95 but im comming from the west. Jon
