IM still a n00b but I thought that the ea82t needs 91 octane:confused: -
Nice vids. There just a lil big for their legnth. if you have windows xp try using windows movie maker and set the setting to 512kb and they should size down alot with out loosing much quality. All my vids are about 1 mb for ever 20 seconds. http://www.dtpcarclub.com/video.htm

Air suspension conversion XT coupe (86)
simpreza2 replied to gk1008's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes it is possible quite a few people have done it. Im not too sure how to do it b/c Im still a n00b myself. And if you search you can find alot on it. -
I just bought a xt awd but the air suspension is not working. The car is 2 hrs away with a straigh drive on I-84 for 95% of the ride. I was reading that its very dangerous to try to drive with bad air suspension so what are my options in getting it home? I was thinking of towing it with my moms infinity qx4 but I would need the auto transport b/c its 4wd and i cant use the dolly b/c it will mess up the 4wd. http://www.uhaul.com/towing/ Am I right or no? any other ideas? Thanks Jon

I might be in for the dp and maybe the header. When do you need to know by? I just bought my car and Im picking it up in 2 weeks. After I fix her up/check her out Ill know how much cash i got left. But Im really interested. Any pics or more info on them? Im kinda new to the older gen subies and turbos. -
http://www.crashtest.com/explanations/archive/crash.htm#anchor143234 How come the xt is so much better safety rating then the gl/dl? If that site it right then I think Ill be lookin for an xt instead of an gl/dl. But how do the gl/dl's hold up in crashes? Jon

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2469425062&category=6467&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBBI%3AIT Im looking into purchasing this car but the only thing that wories me is that he said " Ran 25 miles to my house from his in Oct.; PERFECTLY. Except the suspension; in 4wd it is controllable if you go slow. " I dont understand what he means by this. It needs to be in 4wd to be controllable? Any input or ideas? Thanks, Jon

Thanks for all the help guys. Im all too familiar with the rust and taping noise. I have a 92 loyale with 200k on it and it taps and is rusting like crazy. Im looking to replace the fenders and fix some of the rust. I love the loyale and I'll continue to keep her running as long as I can but I love cars, especially subies, and want another one:grin:

Im lookin to get an older subie to work on and use as a daily driver to my community college. What are the more comon problems of older subies, if any? I just want to know what to ask about/check out besides the usual stuff. And by older I mean mid-late 80's. Thanks, Jon

Im lookin at a 86 xt that has "bad suspension" The car is kinda far so i cant go look at it but what are my options? Can I just replace the suspension with regular struts and springs or do I have to fix the air suspension? I know the air suspension is proabibly alot to fix so Im just wonderig if the car is worth buying. I should be able to switch it out with a regular gl or gl turbo right? Thanks, Jon
