sounds like a grand time for all... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

yeah me too. engine swap, on the fly struts (EDFC), and struts that do not use the stock mounts. all put me into Prepared class. i beleave. but i read in the SCCA rule book that all open prepared cars need a role bar. witch i dont have. dose that mean i cant race? -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  4. i have done 2 EJ swaps, and i have never pulled the dash. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com

i see some post about rally X dose anyone Auto X their Subaru. i think i want to try it this spring/summer. just for fun. anyone do it around Washington? -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  6. In My Opnion, and On Board Diagnostic 2. anything sold after 8/96 (with a few excptions) in the USA has to comply with this. no any EJ20* pre 2002 will be JDM the usa never had a 2.0L before the 2002 WRX. i am using the whole 96 "JDM" WRX drivetrain: engine, trans, diff, front susp, rad, brakes, ECU, wiring harness, ect... i would only use the stock ECU with stock wiring harness i have herd that Megasquirt will not work with an EJ due to the Crank and Cam sensors. but i have not done it so im not 100% sure. talk to Dr.RX or SubaruTex about teh Halteck. (but this along with many other standalone will not work with the coil on plug Ign.) the only aftermarket ECU i would use is a PowerFC. but for that you have to have the stock wiring harness. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  7. the EJ20G is a JDM engine that came from 92-96 WRX. the 2002 WRX engine (EJ205?) will be OBDII and will be much harder to convert. best bet IMO is to stay nonOBDII. as of yet i dont think anyone has installed an STi 6Sp into an EA body car. i have thought about it, but finding them is not easy. and when you do they go for $3500 or more. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  8. when i started to get into street subes i wanted to make a mean EA82T. so i started getting parts for the buildup. i started doing the math and came to the conclusion that fo me to build a EA82T with close to 200HP would be almost impossable, if i wanted to drive it every day. and would cost me around 2grand. so thats when i went the EJ20G route. cost a little more. (less than a grand more) but i now have over 200 AWHP and i drive it every day without worrying about it blowing up... now i have one of the quickest EA bodied Subarus in the USA... look at it this way. if you have $2500 you could have a bad A$$ EA that is at the very top limits of that engine, pushing 160-180HP, or for that same money you could have a stock EJ running at the stock limits, pushing 240-275HP and then mod the heck out of it and have even more power. my $0.02... take it for what its worth... $0.02 -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  9. the SVX EG33 has 230HP and the EJ20G has 240-275 depending on year. and will fit easyer and is cheeper. just my $0.02 -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  10. i have XT6 5 lug setup, with 200SX calipers. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  11. the first set of calipers i got from a nissan looked like the ones you have. the cable bracket hit the CV. so the next time i was at pull a part. i found a 200SX early 90's and they pulled from the bottom rather than the side and they fit awesome. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  12. i hate to say it but you got the wrong year / model... i did the same thing. those are to old. you need to find a newer one. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  13. i could be wrong but i think they only came on the duel carb setup. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  14. nice work... cant wate to see how it dose off road, and to see how long that D/R holds up to the power. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  15. do a search. i have done 2 DOHC EJ swaps. 96WRX has done one and i think a few are working on them now. there is plenty of room. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  16. it should cost you whatever you pay for the engine ecu and wiring harness plus adapter plate( should be able to find all that you need for $5-600). plus maybe $200.00 for extra parts and stuff... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  17. nice work -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  18. first off if you live in washington than you dont have a 99 WRX. you may have a 99 impreza but unless its RHD its not a WRX. if you want to put a JDM WRX engine in an impreza you will have a lot of work ahead of you. give us more information on what you have and what you want to do and we can help with about anything you need. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  19. just an update... it has been 2 full weeks with me driving this car every day in the morning and evening in the dark. the lights work awesome and to date i have not been flashed yet, nor have i been pulled over for haveing illeagal lights. i have passed cops both while driving and while they were sitting on the side of the road. i hate to say it but these lights are not the only thing on my car that is not "Washington state leagle", and i dont think i will own another subaru as a daily driver that dose not have these lights. -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  20. i have one of those kits that i never used brand new. bought it but then went with an EJ swap. i will sale it to you for $50.00 shipped to your door. can send out day after christmas... -=Suberdave=- www.suberdave.com
  21. the factory headlamps are not rewired. if i need to i can just unplug the HID bulbs and plug the facroty bulbs back in. all the wiring was done after the factory conector. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  22. this is a pic of the 9004-2 bulb, you can see the HID bulb and the high beam halogen bulb. but like i said in an earlyer post the high beam is useless. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  23. just make sure you know what you are getting and get all of it. remember some of these parts are not easy to find due to the fact that they are JDM. if you start to get parts from here and there you will end up with a frankenstine and may have an even harder time finding parts for it... if you go this route make sure you are saveing a lot of money over buying a front clip, or buying a compleat setup (engine trans ECU wiring harness) from a importer. let me know what route you decided to go... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  24. Ebay link. this guy was awesome. got the box in 3 days... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190064430659&ssPageName=MERC_VIC_RCRX_BIN_IT&refitem=190063689136&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&usedrule1=CrossSell_LogicX&refwidgettype=cross_promot_widget ~UPDATE~ got the highbeams hooked up today by using a relay. not worth my time. the high beams are halagon not HID. the low beams work better than the high beams. but the lights work so well i am going to buy some for my wifes car also... -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
  25. very doable but would not use a TT many clearance problems with LHD cars. but if you found a EJ207 USDM STI engine drop it in there with very few mods you could have real close to 300AWHP. when you get to that point i will give you some pointers. -=Suberdave=- http://www.suberdave.com
